We were traveling through on our way to Colorado and stopped at Oscars for lunch. My husband and son had the hot roast beef sandwich and they thought it was excellent. The beef was very tender and flavorful! We really liked our lunch at Oscars and wished that we could come back for the ribs and the prime rib. Stopping through on our way to Colorado Springs, this restaurant came recommended by the front desk staff at our hotel. It was a great break from all the chain restaurants we've been eating at since leaving from Ohio a couple of days ago. Our hostess and waitress were both very nice and accommodating. We had worked up an appetite driving all day and certainly did not leave hungry. I ordered the fish and chips. It was delicious. Their coleslaw was very good. This was a surprisingly good-food experience for a roadside truck stop in the middle of nowhere. I had the $10.99 pot roast - delicious, with gravy and mashed potatoes -- home cooking!. I ordered the pot roast, which was way too salty. I complained to the waitress and told her that I was not going to be able to eat it. There was no attempt to offer me an alternative or to comp my meal. She just brought by check, took my plate away, and didn't say any more about the food. Since I was just passing through, it is unlikely that I will be here again anyway, but I think that both their food and their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. read more

I got the fish and chips and my husband got the lobster ravioli. They tasted good, but unfortunately we both felt terribly sick to our stomachs when we got home. My husband even threw up. I could go on to describe our unpleasant symptoms of nausea, but I am sure you get the point. The waitress was polite and attentive without hovering. I am an out-of-towner on my way to Dallas, TX from Missoula, Montana. I got off of a ten hour drive and wanted a Vodka tonic so I popped in. I have a WA license because I went to school there- it is completely legit with hologram and all any any cop could check it quickly and see it's real. I was denied service because the bartender said he could not accept this ID. I suggested he call the police to verify it, to which he responded "I want to do the right thing, and I can't accept this ID." These jerks don't take too kindly to outsiders I guess. The bartender was an older man, probably 40's or 50's with a ridiculous double-unbuttoned collared shirt that looked like something from a teenage clothing mecca like abercrombie or something. The restaurant is clean. The staff is nice. The theme is clever: it's a movie themed restaurant. They offer many beer selections, including Deschutes Brewery and Fort Collins Brewery beer. I had a chicken quesadilla and it was just okay. The tortilla was not a white flour tortilla, rather some flavored tortilla. The chicken was well spiced and tasty. The tomatoes and lettuce on my plate were nothing I wanted to eat. My husband and daughter ate their food up. I also ordered a side salad, which was very basic. We searched "breweries" in Limon, Co. Oscars came up as the first choice. Reviews were promising as an option for a meal other than fast food, which appealed to us. We also were looking to have a decent beer, which is why we searched "breweries". 1. This is a not a brewery. I would say it is closer to a truck stop/diner. 2. No beer on tap. 3. Clean, aside from the flies. I did see the side door open near bar and I assume that is how they came in. Just annoying...but it was clean. 4. We ordered a half rack baby back ribs. It was mid afternoon and my husband and I were not starving so we thought we would share the meal. 5. We ordered the ribs, and told the waitress we would like to share . She said it was an addional charge of 1.99 to share. 6. The salad bar , if you call it that, was an additional charge of 1.99. Keep in mind, your plate will be the size of a small salad/dinner salad plate. The salad bar consisted of ice berg lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, shredded package cheese and a handful of typical dressings. I was not told I could go back for more at the salad bar. Perhaps you can, but I wasn't told. 7. Our ribs came out on 2 plates, 1 slab approx.4" in length. There was a handful of fries on each plate. I would guess about 12-15 fries each. The visual was pretty sad. 8. The taste was even more disappointing . I would guess they were microwaved 9. I don't have an opinion on the fries. They were that unimpressive. 10. About halfway into our meal, my husband asked if we could get dinner rolls and if they also cost extra. She said yes, 4 were included in our meal. I am not sure why we had to ask for them. She brought 2. They were definitely frozen and heated. I did not even eat mine. :( 11. The price for our meal was $25 plus tip. 12. I would def not go here again nor recommend it. I entered with a service dog and was IMMEDIATELY greeted with I cant ket you in.... I told the girl the dog was a service animal and she demanded paperwork to PROVE it .... Not legal .... Told she legally could not ask for that and was seated ... In a bit a very large man came and accosted me at my table informed me that if i didn't show papers and vet papers he was kicking me out it was his place and he could do what he wanted ... He "guessed" that since I was not showing paperwork it was not a service animal ... When given her id card he demanded to know where it was issued and finally decided to let me stay and eat ... This place is all about customer service! First time walking into Oscars and it felt like we were regulars! I was super impressed with the bartender Mark he made us feel so at home and noticed he made everyone feel special and was so appreciative that we were all there. Two ladies also tended to us when mark left the scene I'm sorry for not getting their names but they made sure everyone was taken care of and happy. We went only for a beer not expecting too much of a selection for we thrive on craft beers boy were we surprised!! They have such an array of local beers and a decent amount of craft as well as import and domestic. I noticed too they also had great selection of liquor! We had previously eaten before we got there but after watching other guests food being served and drooling over it we decided to try the wings. Being a wing connasuer yet not a fan of breaded wings (which these were) Mark assured us they were delish and he was so right!! I knew I could trust him! We're truckers and travel all over the state and stopped in Limon for the night if in the area again we, without a doubt will be back! Oh! Didn't mention that the prices were right on the money too! Cute decor. Menu looked good, but the food was terrible and expensive. I had linguine with shrimp and olive oil. The shrimp looked suspiciously pink, perhaps precooked frozen variety. The noodles were in a watery shrimp juice which I drained. My husband had tortalini in again a weird pink sauce, which he thought might be jarred. The service and food were fine. The portion size was small for what we paid. My son ate a $10 burger and fries and was still hungry. After paying our bill we ended up going to McDonald's across the street and picking up burgers for the road. Not to happy after spending $65 on lunch (4 people no drinks). Good food. Good service. Vibe kill at the bar. $2.00 shot special posted on chalkboard. We asked our server about it and she said she would check on it for us. She came back and said she wasn't sure what the owner wanted to do with his specials. So, she came back a few minutes later and I asked about it again. Should the owner still wasn't sure what he wanted to do with specials. She returned a few minutes later asking if we wanted anything else any more drinks or any shots, or if we were ready for our check. I told her that unless she had any ideas what the shot specials were we wouldn't be ordering any shots. Really? I believe the owner or at the very least a manager was sitting there and they couldn't offer us any deals on shots, especially since it was posted on the chalkboard, $2 shot specials? There were many people at the bar and many people in the restaurant. Finally tried Oscars after years of passing it by. Atmosphere was easy going and laid back. Establishment was somewhat clean (the floor under our table was filthy and had previous guests food). Seated right away. We are a family of 5 and with 3 children we were seating in the middle of the entire restaurant which was a bit stressful for others to enjoy their meal, but luckily people in the bar were louder than us. Food was okay, ordered the chicken friend steak and was able to share with my son. The steak itself was VERY thin and was only eating the breeding. The meal came with some great mashed potatoes. Two other kids ordered the kids hamburger and that was delicious fries were very good too. Husband ordered the French dip sandwich and states the meat was dry, but overal was okay. We all got salads and the ranch is a dill base not buttermilk which was a negative for our kids. Originally my son wanted chicken strips but they were all out of any chicken entrée. Little disappointed but we figured it out. If we ever go back we are going to order a hamburger guessing that is a for sure thing. read more
