Exceeded all my expectations and then some! I brought both my boys for a haircut. My youngest is 2 and does NOT like getting his haircut. Everywhere else I've taken him, he cried and screamed and we had to walk out. Alberto was SUPER patient and met us where we were and was able to show my son that haircuts are not scary and gave him a superb haircut. I was truly shocked that we got through a haircut without any tears and he looks fabulous! My 4 year old has never looked better after his cut as well. Alberto is a gem! Highly recommend A+ read more

I personally saw Oscar (the Owner) from age 6 all the way to my early 20's. He cut my Dad's hair as well and for a long time he was my go-to for anything only a Barber could do. Unfortunately after returning from school out of state, he had changed. I came in tatted and pierced up because I'm an artist and was looking into school for tattoo and piercings and had plenty myself. The first thing he said wasn't "Hey man, long time no see!", it was "What the hell did you do to your face?". I explained that this was who I am now and it falls into my art, but he just judged me for how I looked. No mater what I said, he shamed me for it and told me to take that junk out of my face, then instead of seating me, handed me off to a rookie, still in training (which I didn't know at the time). She ruined my hair wile Oscar watched smiling and she even was shocked when I went to pay tearing up. She asked "Are you sure it's ok?", but I just wanted to leave so I payed and left. After that I never returned. I warned my parents and had my Dad stop wasting his money here. The environment went from splendid to toxic just like that, and I didn't want anyone I cared about to receive the same treatment I did. Wish I could give this place 0 Stars because it's worth none! You have been warned. read more

Pretty poor service. I didn't stay for a hair cut since I was unsure of the service I would receive based on my initial greeting. The stylist felt like I was wasting their time: she basically had her coat on and keys in hand waiting to leave. I encourage all to look elsewhere. I was ensured by the owner that I should try and come back for excellent service, citing, "we treat you like family". If the owner had been there, this probably wouldn't have happened. Your employees are like children, you have to keep an eye on them all the time. read more

Oscars is my new place, great staff and always a pleasure. I have my haircut every 2 weeks they have even squeezed me in when they were booked. They are a blessing compared to the service you cant seem to find these days. read more

Oscar is great, and the salon is very clean and the vibe is great. All of the stylist's are very friendly.

Very grateful to find Oscar's ; my research paid off! Met Oscar and had the privilege to get with Anatoli, an absolute professional. I highly recommend Anatoli, he is super experienced and his skill is great. Gonna get on Anatoli's schedule when I come through town. Thank you Anatoli! read more

Nice haircut. Service? Not so much. Not going back unless it's an emergency. I give it a Meh-plus.

Been coming for years; yes, even before It was named Oscars -- was named Philip and Anthonys. I believe one of the owners died and Oscar absorbed the whole business. Even after they modernized the business, you still will get a good haircut for a reasonable price. Yes, it's pricier than most, but you're paying for quality. Men's haircuts are twenty-five dollars and I think shampoo services come with it. Usually a game or two is on. read more

Please avoid this Saloon !!!! I was there last week to promote our local small business but the service was nightmare. Though they try to be nice but the hair cutter was in weed or unexperienced , not sure coz he even donot know how to hold the scissors. Though i ask for other team for help but nothing much and they charge me 35 bucks and later i have to buy new cap costing 18$ to hide my hair. So please make sure your hair is in good hand. read more

I have been going to Oscar for my haircuts for over 30years. I won't go anywhere else. He is the best. If you really want a treat get a shave. The man is a master with the razor and hot towels! read more

Oscar's salon is the hairstyling place to be in the north shore! Oscar Moreno is the man! He is supported by a wonderful staff including Connie, Beth, Anotoli, Terri and other beautiful people. I give us Oscar's salon my highest marks. If you are looking for a contemporary hairstylist in a high energy location; go to Oscars. You will not be disappointed! read more

Best place to get a haircut. Not only is the haircut always amazing but the staff is always really friendly and welcoming

So I was in the area and decided to stop in to Oscar's hair salon for a quick haircut. My hair has always been difficult to style due to the Dennis the Menace cowlick that I have. But at this point my hair had looked more like a mop than an actual haircut. Connie came to the front desk and took me right away. Connie talked me into to doing a style verse my normal buzz cut. What a good idea for me to take Connie and Oscars advice. I don't think I've been this pleased with a haircut in a very long time. High five guys!!! I have to say it's hard to find a stylist I like but Connie's got my business from now on. Thank you!!! read more

3, possibly 4, generations of my family have been coming to Oscar for a haircut. Great people, great atmosphere, the best haircut! I like the design. Congratulations! read more

It is a family affair with my father, sons, brother in law's, cousins and more all joining me at Oscar's. Connie and Oscar have brought new color to their Salon. Warm, inviting and relaxing. Top Service from the invigorating shampoo service to the final product. Keep up the good work! read more

Alicia cut my hair and was great. I went in after not getting a hair cut in 2 years. I donated 9 inches and had little to work with but I love the cut Alicia gave me. It's a layered bob, which is what I was hoping for. My husband loves the haircut Sue gives him. Sue explained to my husband that he should part his hair the other side and it magically looks better! She likes making friendly conversation. Great prices and friendly people. read more

Had a keratin done over the weekend by Terri @ Oscars Salon. I have had many treatments over the years at other salons. Some good and some not so good. She had some big shoes to fill and I'm really picky about my hair (as most women are). Terri did a great job! I'm excited I have a new go to person for my keratin treatments! Thanks Terri! read more

Oscar did a fantastic job on my 9 year old son's very thick, straight hair. We will be back!!

I was visiting in town and needed a quick haircut before a wedding, I was long over due and not familiar with the area or any stylist. Was hesitant but walked in without an appointment but was helped and squeezed in right away. Had a great with Sue. She was nice and welcoming and even though I was a little worried how my hair would end up, I was completely satisfied it turned out exactly how I wanted. Highly recommend. Gonna look good for the dance floor tomorrow night. Thank you again Sue. read more

After a 20 year hiatus, and after moving back to the area, I recently visited Oscar for a haircut. Somethings never change (which in the case is a good thing). While the place has been updated since I was last there, it is the same Oscar and same great haircut. If you are looking for a great haircut for a reasonable price, I would highly recommend a trip to Oscar's. read more

It was 6:10 and Oscar's was closed. I just wanted a trim and walked in to ask if i could be accommodated. With a smile, Oscar was happy to take me. He was friendly, professional, and very proud of his business. He gave me a great haircut at a fair price and earned himself a customer for life. read more

Oscar is the man. Convenient, friendly, reasonably-priced. I expect to be coming to Oscar's for many years to come.

Awesome place, great attention to detail. The shampoo girl has amazing skills. I think you can't go wrong!

Oscar's is the place to come in the North Shore for haircuts. The facility is clean and gives off a very friendly and inviting vibe. This is also true for Oscar himself. He is quite personable and you may wonder why he owns a hair salon instead of being a talk show host. Until he starts cutting your hair. Oscar asks what the customer wants and makes it happen. Perfectly. Every time. I could delve into details for days, but it comes down to this: You can't put a price on looking good. For the extra ~$7 vs crappy commercial hair salons that are ALWAYS hit or miss (usually miss IME), it's a no brainer. I live downtown now and will still return to Oscar every time I need a cut. read more

Great Spot. Ask for Oscar to dime up your piece and you will be sure to be a regular. He takes great pride in his skills. I have been going to see Oscar since high school in the late 90's. His spot is classy and welcoming and a cool place to get a trim. I highly suggest checking Oscars out. read more

Oscar has still got it goin on. was in town and needed my hair cut real nice yo. been years since i saw him, but he's as good as ever...

I went to oscars hair salon yesterday, one of my moms friends recommended Alicia. So I went to her to get a hair cut and add some blonde in my hair. I don't trust anyone to cut my hair besides a guy that cuts my hair in Mexico. So I was scared for the outcome of my hair, especially because I was gonna get a lot of my hair cut off. I'm loving the outcome of my hair! I got so many compliments from my friends, I would recommend Alicia to a lot of people. Tell her what you want and she'll make you love your new hair! I love as well that she kept a conversation going with you rather than just being awkwardly there. I will definitely come back here so Alicia can do my hair, whenever I can't go to Mexico to get my hair done! read more

I've been going to Oscar's Hair Salon for the past three years and I couldn't be any happier! Not only do I love the way Alicia has been styling my hair, but I appreciate the warm welcome I receive from the entire staff. From Oscar to all the hair stylists. Alicia listens to what I want to do with my hair and always gives me her honest opinion. Recently, I dramatically changed my hair style, I went short and I just love it! I've had so many compliments and I always tell them about Alicia at Oscar's Hair Salon. I hope you will contact Oscar's for not only yourself, but your friends and family as well. Just like me, you'll be hooked and won't want to go anywhere else. read more

Grew up in the neighborhood and I still come back from the city to get my haircut. Oscar and Connie are great, the place has only gotten better since they took over. Friendly staff, great environment, and as always a perfect cut. If you're looking for a go to salon for the future definitely check it out. read more

Moved to the area from NYC and needed to find a place to for a hair cut. I am very particular about who cuts my hair, and I could not be happier with the experience I had at Oscar's. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and mostly importantly great haircuts. Ask for Oscar--he took the time to get to know me and what I wanted in a haircut, gave me suggestions about places to see in the area, and treated me as if I had a been a regular for years. I wish I could give an even higher recommendation. Go to Oscar's--you won't be disappointed and you will be treated like family. read more

Found a jem place today. This place is absolutely amazing where all staffs are incredibly welcoming. I went in for a dye from a dark to a lighter brown with ash highlights done by Alicia. Have to say, I was super satisfied with the results and how it turned out. She's amazing!! Definitely my go-to salon from now on. read more

Oscar and all of his hairstylists are amazing! Everybody there is super friendly. They really care about your hair. Out of the many hair salons I've been to, this is the only place where I do not stress or worry about how my hair will turn out. Truly one of the best salons out there!! read more

Had a perfect experience. Started combing my hair a certain way, as if I had and wanted an undercut. I walked in to get one, and before I could say anything, Oscar knew exactly what I wanted and recommended it wholeheartedly. This is most definitely the most satisfying haircut I've ever received. Perfect salon with a mix of friendliness and expertise. read more

Absolutely the best Barber / Salon!!! Oscar is a pro and you look much better walking out then when you walked in. Highly recommend them.

Terrible experience with Alicia. i needed a place for hair color and chose Alicia because of postings on Yelp. From the moment I sat down she began telling me how great she was and not to worry because she was so good. She wouldn't listen to me about the nature of my hair and proceeded to chemically burn it. Forget using her. read more

This rating is not for the place itself but for Tolya (I hope this is his name). I've never seen such a rude person in a long time. You either do and accept what he wants to do with your hair or you can find some other place. Not surprised given the fact that he is Russian, but around here things are different. The customer is on the first place. Theoretically. read more

I went here for the first time last week and had a GREAT experience! I got a cut and color from Alicia, she did a wonderful job. Oscar's has fair prices and the quality is top notch. There is a really positive vibe in the salon and all of the stylists get along and look like they enjoy their job. Alicia listened to what I wanted and styled my hair better than I expected. Come try this place! read more

Wouldn't go anywhere else! I've been going to this salon since 1990 and will be very unhappy if things change. I have hard to cut hair, many cowlicks, and Oscar is the best! Time after time my haircuts are consistent and perfectly cut. Oscar is also a very personable stylist, listening to every concern and request. My son has the same type of hair as I do and he too has gone to Oscar for many years until he moved out of state. I would highly recommend this salon and this hairstylist. read more

I have been coming to Oscar's Hair Salon since before Oscar became the owner, about 6 or 7 years now at least. I have had the same hair stylist, Sue, for that entire time. My favorite thing about getting haircuts from Sue is that there is no 'grace period' for her haircuts. Other stylists' cuts sometimes take a couple days for the do to start looking how one wants it to. However, I leave each appointment knowing that I look great. Sue, along with entirety of Oscar's staff, is extremely friendly and flexible (with scheduling). Sue is the reason I have not let any other stylist touch my hair for the past 7 years. I highly recommend Sue as a stylist, and Oscar's as a go-to salon spot for men or women. read more
