Also, talking to Joe who has experience installing tile and is not just a salesman, really helped me avoid choosing tiles that would have been a nightmare for my contractor to install properly.

Premier HD Construction is disorganized, unreliable, and very unresponsive. They failed to meet one…read moredeadline after another, but always quick with an excuse or to point the finger. Worst of all, they bailed on the project after blowing through the timeline/budget. I found Rick and Jim (the owners/operators of Premier HD Construction) on the Houzz app. After what I thought was an extensive upfront due diligence process to vet their experience and track record, I hired them as the GCs for my home renovation project in December 2020. They actually put together a comprehensive scope of work, prepared a detailed outline of the budgeted time/expenses, and the references they provided checked out. My actual experience working with them was totally different, and engaging them as general contractors is a cautionary tale of overpromising and underdelivering. We agreed on a 4 month timeline, but it took closer to 9 months before they were even close to being done. To make matters worse, they went radio silent on me with about ~20% of the work remaining, so I had to finish up the job myself and pay various subs out-of-pocket for work that should have already been done. Their poor communication resulted in issues and headaches that should have been avoided. I found them NOT to be pragmatic or proactive in addressing the typical problems or issues that arise in any reno project in the normal course of business. They were unaccountable for their lack of oversight and mismanagement of their sub-contractors. As a result, the project materially exceeded the agreed upon budget and delayed our timeline. The root of the problem was that there was no 'foreman' onsite or consistent day-to-day point of contact overseeing the job. Rick and Jim spread themselves way too thin. As a result, the sub-contractors that they hired to perform the actual work were not supervised and it resulted in a number of mistakes that needed to be corrected. The subs were good people, I got to know some of them pretty well, but since they weren't given proper direction and Premier HD wasn't onsite to check that the work was being done properly and per the architectural plans, various components of the job had to be redone and delays/costs mounted. Ultimately PHD's mismanagement of their sub-contractors and unaccountability for their actions caused progress to derail and forced me to step in and basically do Rick/Jim's job. To add insult to injury, several sub-contractors have since shown up at my front door saying that they haven't been able to get a hold of Rick/Jim and that they are owed money. Can't say I'm too surprised by this. I was witness to more than one yelling match between Rick/Jim and their subs under my roof. Doesn't help their case that each of them changed their phone numbers, I didn't ask why at the time but assumably to dodge these ppl. I asked Rick/Jim repeatedly to provide me with lien waivers/releases, but they never did. Shocker. Multiple subs of theirs quit midway through the job or walked off after similar complaints. Since they were subbing in diff ppl to do the same job and pick up the last guy's work halfway through, there was little to no consistency and it showed. Very dissatisfied with my experience working with Premier HD. For anyone contemplating any renovation work or construction projects in Westchester or greater CT, steer clear of these guys. They're bad news and you're better off going another direction or managing it yourself, because that's what you'll end up doing if you hire them, the only difference is you'll prob get it done way more cost-effectively and in half the time.

His work is just incredible. Wow!! We found Carmine after a very long and difficult renovation of an old farmhouse. We wanted to only get the best guy in the industry this time and he lived up to exactly that. This man and his crew didn't cut a corner. Anywhere. Carmine has shown that he is a man of his word and is truly a genius to be able to organize and execute something with so much complexity and so many moving parts. He came to us with only the highest recommendations and it almost seems superfluous to write a review because he is so well respected and in-demand but I just feel a need to announce that it's been a real honor to have them transform our landscape. His crew is equally incredible. Watching them is like watching a finely tuned machine. They each practice excellence and show the integrity and commitment they have to doing a job well. They work together like an orchestra in harmony. I am just in awe of their workmanship, with the quality they deliver- and their consistent care of our property as though it were their own. He brought elegant and graceful form to what once was a "sandbox" and turned our renovation into a wonderful dream farm. He fixed some poor work another contractor did and did it the right way before creating elegant terraces and retaining walls that looked like they were built in Jerusalem. He got us the most amazing heavy massive slabs of granite which they shaped and formed by hand like true craftsmen into beautiful pathways traversing the landscape. They found a giant old millstone, old hand carved stone pillars and horse troughs and placed them perfectly in the landscape surrounded them with massive granite slabs incorporating antique bricks and cobblestones. They laid irrigation and drainage tunnels and electrical- all without making a mistake! Later in the season when it came time to plant the lovely landscape - it all came to brilliant life. I am just utterly without words. His work will bring me so much joy every day, every moment I am lucky to enjoy it. And the process was so incredibly enjoyable. Carmine Luppino. You Rock!!!

He is honest, his prices reasonable, and he truly cares for his work and making you happy. When we first started I felt overwhelmed by the sheer amount of work that needed to be done to renovate a 30 year old dentist office with 7 rooms to a modern beautiful spa like Acupuncture office. Everything needed to be gutted and replaced. We had to demo everything to its bones, tear up carpets and tiles, remove large pieces of walls in each room and then rebuild walls, doors, replace flooring, lights and everything to modernize and give it that spa like feeling. I was stressed....Until I talked with Fernando and we discussed the project and plans going forward. There are some people that instantly make you feel calm, relaxed and like everything is going to be okay. Fernando is one of those people. He is a true gift. The calm I felt was continually delivered over the time of the renovation as his team quickly went to work and my office moved along exactly along the time table he projected. I never saw people work so hard, fast, and efficiently. I trusted Fernando and his team 100%. I always felt heard and listened to, even as we assess and changed quite a few things through the process. I truly can't recommend Fernando enough, he made what I imagined a hellish process, easy, simple and relatively stress free.

Fernando and his crew did an incredible job and I owe it to homeowners in Westchester to write this…read morereview. Top quality, reasonable price, incredibly fast, and on top of all that nice and easy to work with. For more detail I should write some background. When we moved to Croton in 2019, we had plans for updating and customizing our home. We tried really hard to find good contractors, having had bad experiences in the past. Unfortunately we kept having one bad experience after another. Bad quality, unfinished work, open permits, huge delays, big increases in cost from the estimates, and in general headaches for us to deal with. Fernando came in and fixed all our problems. Other contractors took 3 months to grade, install a basic stone wall, and dig a hole for a rain garden. Then they quoted us $45k to finish the work. When we said that was too high they left us with a mess. Fernando took 6 days to do that same work for half the cost. Then on top of that he fixed a huge mistake the other crew made on the rain garden and installed a good system that makes us much more confident our home is protected from big storms. The whole time he was much more transparent about materials and cost and timing than anyone else we dealt with. We're hoping that he's available for all our future projects and so happy that we finally found such a great contractor. Don't hesitate to choose Vista Construction, and you're welcome to visit our place anytime if you want to see how nice his walls look. One of them is even half his work and half the other crew for a perfect comparison.
