I recently had work done by Cesar and his team. He repeatedly stated that he prides himself on the…read morequality craftsmanship he provides, however, the finishing touches done to my home were definitely lacking quality. There were areas on the walls and moldings missing paint where primer is clearly visible. His team got paint on the entire perimeter of my new hardwood floors and tiles, as well as the slab around my fireplace. There are drywall screws that are still visible and were simply painted over, as well as dried grout on my moldings that were never cleaned off. Also, his team defaced my driveway. They cut tile on my black top driveway without putting any tarps down. I just got my driveway resealed weeks before. He left all the residue on my driveway for days, and when asked about the staining, he told me it would easily come out if sprayed by a hose. After his employee power washed twice, the stains are still there. And I should mention they dumped the white tile water and residue clumps on a tree in the back of my home, and on my shed. Also, his attitude left something to be desired. Especially after the driveway incident. Any questions i had or things i wanted to check on were met with an attitude as if it was wrong to ask. It made me very uncomfortable. So much so, that my partner decided to step in and communicate with Cesar about the remaining items. There were also two different instances where he either stated verbatim, or implied, that something wasn't his job, including cutting molding that he installed, as well as noticing that his men forgot to install molding to the base of my coat closet at all. There was even and instance where he claimed i gave him an incorrect paint color that he later realized was not true after he referred back to my text. Also, the grout in between the tile installed in my bathroom easily comes out and turns to powder with a fingernail. The list goes on and on. I had hopes that this project wouldn't be a nightmare, but I should've known better when he was a no show the first day he was supposed to come to my home to gather information for an estimate. He then showed up over an hour late the next day, and then he decided to push the start date of my project a few days beforehand because he had to finish up another project. Not to mention i had to give constant reminders of things throughout the life of the project. Ex. Filling in holes and open areas in my utility closet for three days straight. After sending him several pictures showing where his craftsmanship fell short, i never received so much as a response or an apology for the mess and mistakes he left that i now have to have corrected. This was a rush job at best. This is not right and completely unethical to do this to homeowners who hire professionals and entrust them into their homes. Very disappointing.

I strongly advise anyone considering hiring Angelo Crespo to look elsewhere. My experience with him…read morewas unprofessional, stressful, and costly. I paid him $2,800, which I can prove with canceled checks, and the work was left incomplete. In addition, he caused damage to my home: my blinds were ruined, my driveway/pavers were stained from his van's oil leak, and my bedroom furniture was left covered in dust and drops of plaster. Despite giving him the opportunity to clean or repair the pavers, the stain remained. When I asked him to take responsibility, instead of addressing the issues, he became angry, defensive, and unprofessional in both his behavior and his written communications. He even tried to shift the blame onto me and claimed I should have purchased primer so he could check for his own mistakes -- an unreasonable and unprofessional expectation. Based on my experience, I would never recommend him to anyone. I am now left with damages to repair out of my own pocket because of his lack of accountability and poor workmanship.

The Hardwood Guys installed floors in 80% of our house and refinished the rest. Aside from 3 dents…read morefrom oil cans in our brand new floor, we were very happy with the end result. Even now, we think they did an outstanding job laying new hardwood and sanding. However, 1 year later the floors were showing a lot of wear after supposedly using 3 coats of Duraseal oil based polyurethane. 4 years later we now have to refinish our floors. In multiple areas the color has completely worn away and in some other areas it's peeling. I even reached out to Duraseal to find out if this lack of durability is expected. They told me that it's possible if they didn't apply enough layers, didn't give it enough time to dry between layers, or applied it too thin or thick. Since we were not living at the house when the work was done we couldn't monitor this. Since they were sloppy enough to dent our new floor with cans, they could've been sloppy applying Duraseal. The companies coming in to quote us to refinish our floors are flabbergasted at the amount of wear in such a short period of time. Every vendor said it looks like they didn't apply enough coats. I'm not sure what the actual reasoning is. Hardwood Guys had competitive pricing. However, it cost us more in the long run. Now, we have to pay a second time, deal with dust, VOCs, and smell, in addition to being displaced with a young child to redo the work that should've been done properly in the first place.

Lastly, their price was super! No wonder the Property Brothers like this company. I will definitely use them again for future projects.

I had a few too many drinks at Reservoir and locked myself out. It was either sleep on the steps or bust down the door, so I did what I had to do. Next morning I woke up with a killer headache and a big problem to fix. The door frame was demolished and my cousin was heading back from Europe. I called several handymen but no one was up to the task. Lou came through in the clutch.
