Jim's hourly rates are reasonable and he does not overcharge, even if he over/underestimates (especially if a quote is given over the phone without seeing the actual place that needs work done)--his fees are appropriate and completely reasonable. I've just moved into a studio apartment that required a much needed upgrade. I called a bunch of handyman services that I found on Yelp, and Jim was only 1 of 3 that got back to me on the same day. Since he was so friendly and patient with my request, I immediately scheduled an appointment with him. He confirmed our appointment the evening before, arrived on time, and promptly got to work after greeting me. He painted my kitchen, bathroom, and a wall in the living room...and my apartment now looks amazing! He also installed a new showerhead and changed my toilet seat in literally less than 5 minutes. Throughout the day, he was also very conversational and friendly. More importantly, I felt that I could trust him with my apartment and belongings, as I left for a couple of hours while he was still working. Hiring Jim was SO worth it (and I paid out of my own pocket since my landlord was not required to make all of the updates that I wanted to make)...I'm loving my apartment!

After going through Yelp to get a quote…read morefor installing a tile back-splash in my kitchen, he was very responsive in setting up an appointment for a walk-through and an estimate. His estimate was reasonable for the amount of work to be done and very competitive with estimates I had already received from five other contractors. Andrew and his assistant Matt took about two days to transform my kitchen into something really sharp. Andrew was very thorough and even took care of some odds and ends that were left by the builder (and previous contractor who installed the counter top). Also, Andrew was very neat - he covered the counter top to avoid any damage or stains and swept the floor after both days of working. After they left, you would never know that two people were sawing tiles and working with grout and tile adhesive all day. I wouldn't hesitate to book Andrew for any other jobs I need done around the apartment. It was a five-star experience from start to finish and I'm glad I found the Handy Andy Squad.

And, since they guarantee that if they can't fix it, you don't pay, calling Andy On Call for all your repair jobs seems like a no brainer to me! I simply cannot recommend them highly enough!
