I discovered this place on yelp. Oscar Nailbar came through for me around Christmas time in the late afternoon when I needed to get an appointment for a dip. They can do just about anything that you need done here as far as nails are concerned. They also, have someone that does massage and some other services. Amy did my nails and she did a fantastic job. She mixed the powder with glitter to just exactly what I had asked for. She is a perfectionist. I can tell and that's what I am looking for in a nail lady. I will definitely be back next time. Disappointing Experience at Oscar Nails - Would Not Recommend I recently visited Oscar Nails and had one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a nail salon. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place due to the poor service, lack of attention to detail, and unprofessional behavior from the staff. To start, my pedicure was completely uneven--some nails were left long while others were cut too short, and they weren't properly filed. When the manager attempted to help me put my sandals on, he was extremely rough and impatient, to the point that I had to ask my mom to help me instead. Being 8 1/2 months pregnant, I cannot easily bend, and his handling was completely inappropriate. The manicure was just as bad, if not worse. When I placed my phone on the table at his station, he started touching my screen and trying to go through my phone, which was incredibly unprofessional and invasive. When he began filing my nails, he did so at an angle, causing them to look completely uneven. When I pointed this out, he blamed my natural nails instead of taking responsibility. Even after asking him to fix them, he proceeded to over-file them, ruining the original shape and making them extremely thin and short--nothing like what I had asked for. At that point, I had to tell him to stop. To make matters worse, he still charged me for the service, despite my obvious dissatisfaction with the result. I also paid for my mom's nails, which turned out better, but she still had issues. She mentioned that he cut them much shorter than she wanted and was constantly zoning out, forcing her to tap him to get him to focus. The next day, the gel polish on my nails had already started peeling and cracking, and some nails had an uneven finish. I paid $130 for this terrible experience, which is beyond frustrating. I'm not sure if this salon is under new management or if they have new staff, but this was by far the most unpleasant nail salon experience I've had. The lack of professionalism, poor-quality work, and dismissive attitude of the staff make it clear that this is not a place I would return to. If you're looking for consistent quality, good service, and a relaxing experience, I would highly recommend going elsewhere. This place is my jam. I literally will go out of my way living in Dunedin to get my manis and pedis here. Nothing fancy but the service I receive is always top-notch. I've never had my nails lift and my pedicure always stays intact quite a while. I started off with four stars but see no reason not to give it five. Myself and two girlfriends came here to get our nails done one evening. We were walk-ins however we did not wait as we were taken right away for our nail services. Oscar Nailbar is located right next to Natures Food Path and shares the plaza parking lot with them so parking is not an issue. I found the nailbar to be clean and orderly. The nail techs were appropriately outfitted with masks and gloves (COVID times). The nailbar itself had an array of those and colors of nail polish and many services to choose from. I decided to get a gel nail manicure. I was impressed the gel powder they use was made locally in Florida (around Orlando if I remember correctly). It was unlike the powder gel I had in years past (yes I have not gotten my nails done in years) which employed UV light. I preferred this process much better. My nail tech was highly skilled and efficient. Over five weeks have gone by and my nails still look great! Not a great experience. Started with a pedicure and it was going well. I decided to have a dipping manicure also. I was led to a manicure table and my nails were cut much shorter than I like. Then the different layers were put on. Several nails were uneven and when the tech was filing she filed my skin on two fingers making them bleed. The tech wanted to end with UV light. I have NEVER had UV light for a dipping manicure. I asked to speak to manager. The manager made an excuse about my nail being higher than my finger that's why the tech filed into my skin. Richard was my nail tech and he was the most sweet, caring gentle male nail tech I have ever met at a nail salon, he started to work on my nails I let him know that I had 4 nails that needed to be repaired. Today I went with my sister at about 12 -- It was very busy but to be fair it's a Saturday. A lady cut us in line so we ended up waiting longer but it was partially my fault for not speaking up. They need a better system for clients that are waiting. Additionally, the prices on their website are not the prices in store. My sister & I's nails were a bit pricey but we got a discount which was nice. Our nails are beautiful! My sister's were exactly like the reference photo. Mine were similar (I specifically said I didn't want mine to look like the reference photo). The lady doing my nails paid great attention to detail. I went there today with my Mom to get our mani and pedi for Mother's day. The lady took 1 1/2 to do my manicure. The nail polish went pass my cuticles both left and right of my fingernails. The lady also hit my cuticle pretty bad with her gel remover accessory. An hour later, I calmly asked for the manager and showed her what happened. When she looked at it, she said that there's nothing wrong with it and even started fixing my cuticles. All of a sudden, my middle finger started bleeding. She said it took 2 hours to get my nails done. I asked her if she can do something and the manager started yelling at me in front of everyone in the salon saying that "I'm sorry but it took you 2 hours to get this done! We are humans too you know!" At that point, I walked away. I have never had this kind of customer service ever in my life. I do not recommend this place at all. The first time I went here the owner did my nails and she did amazing! I got French tip with design and jewels. Was $50 without tip which I thought was reasonable. I'm very upset with the service I got today. I got a fill with chrome polish, they didn't tell me a sinple powder finish was an additional $15 and I didn't even get a design. Plus I broke a nail off last week so I only had nine nails for them to do and was still charged full price. I also got a pedicure and the lady who did it didn't even cut my toenails or massage my legs longer then five minutes. They charged me $90 for a service I thought was going to be substantially less and when I approached them about the price they all just stared at me as I was panicking about how much this will set me back. I went here yesterday and was pretty excited after reading all of the reviews. Paid for a more expensive pedicure and was so disappointed in the job done. I kept having to tell the man who did it problems I could see and to get the polish off my skin. After he was finished, he put me under the dryer and left. After my toes dried, I noticed how clumpy and messy a few of them looked. One of the nice women stayed back to fix and even took care of things I didn't see that was wrong.
