So I went with my girlfriend last night to the restaurant. Fairly packed except for a few open tables. We were hungry so went right into ordering our food. Drinks came by, but without straws until we had to spend five minutes flagging down our waitress. Our soup and salad were promptly brought out after the straws, which were ok except for the lettuce being a bit colder than it probably should have been. Next came the sushi, which was presented well but had very little flavor from the spicy tuna OR spicy salmon. Then came the real reasoning for the poor review. We waited at least a half hour for our entrees. Our table was checked twice in that time, without any mention of the delay. To say this was irritating at the time was an understatement. Finally, the food came, and our waitress had apologized that the kitchen was busy (well I would hope so). We took our first bites, and that did it for us. Overcooked scallops, cold steak with a pink center, and rubbery chicken and veggies. Quite pissed, we ate it anyway due to our hunger having grown in the hour we had been there. At this time, only about half the initial crowd was remaining. Restaurant servers reading this: Don't blame the kitchen for anything if it's evident that the food has been sitting under the heat lamp for a long period of time. It's your job to check in with the kitchen frequently and bring hot food out thats...dare I say, hot. Will not go here again, worst experience out of any Asian restaurant in MA read more

Portions are plentiful, prices good, food is fresh. They have a choice of tables, booths or tapan yaki. Took DH there for Father's Day. We opted for the tapan yaki which was a bit disappointing due to the inexperience of the chef. The food he cooked was excellent, tho. The salad did have too much dressing. So much that the last of the salad was inedible due to it literally swimming in dressing. The edemame was yummy. Word of caution to vegetarians - the seaweed salad has fish roe on it. This was not stated on the menu. Waitress was exceedingly gracious about a replacement. This was our second visit and we'll go back as I have lots of veggie choices and DH has lots of meat/fish choices even with the sushi. read more

Granted, I came in at 3pm on a weekend day, but you know what? If you don't want to deal with customers at 3pm, close your restaurant at that hour. I stood at the door for several minutes while two employees sat in the corner playing with their phones, occasionally looking up at me with a blank stare. I was about to leave when someone else came out of the kitchen and showed me to a bar seat rather than one of the numerous tables that were open. The service basically continued along those lines. The kicker was when I went to the bathroom before leaving. I think a sushi place should be held to even a higher standard of cleanliness than other restaurants, but this bathroom was disgusting by any standard. Totally great. An excellent value at dinner, especially when the cook does his hibachi business at the table. Had the chicken.. It was perfectly cooked, tender and tasty. I have eaten here many times and it is always excellent. Tonight though, I noticed they swapped out sea scallops for Bay scallops which are previously frozen and disgusting. As one can see I'm fairly picky with my sushi, but I was impressed with this place. We got take out from here in the middle of the week and the quality was quite good. The sushi was very flavorful and there were some combinations here that I hadn't seen at other places. I love this place so much. When I used to live in worcester I would go ever couple weeks for the teppanyaki. The filet is always perfectly cooked and so tender. I also love how the veggies are just so simple. I really miss Osaka! read more

Sat the booth this time and they have a variety of specialty rolls ranging from $9-12. There are technically 3 tables, a bunch of chef's bar seats, and couple teppanyaki tables. I'm not sure how those food are, but the sushi aren't bad. But as for sashimi, they're not your freshes. It's an alright establishment. read more

So I went back to try their terriyake chicken, fried rice and veggies to-go. The chicken was dry, the teriyaki sauce was thin, the vegetables burnt, and the fried rice was lacking any flavor. The main reason I keep coming back is that it's conveniently on my way home, but the food altogether is only so-so. read more

I've been an osaka fan foreverrr! The sushi is good. the entrees are good. the apps are good. service has always been good and the drinks are extremely great! hehe.. always loaded with alcohol and not a splash like other joints! we usually either do an overload of sushi or other times well split it up and get a sushi roll, an app, and share an entree. either way, everything has always been good, plentiful, and a great atmosphere to just sit back and relax, since we usually ask for one of the booths. they have lots of flat screen tvs, so its a great place to catch a game during dinner as well. two thumbs up for osaka! read more

Very good sushi. Very good hibachi. Nice selection of rolls and good descriptions on menu. Menu also indicates what is cooked, raw, and/or spicy. Menu also includes traditional dishes, so even non-sushi eaters should be happy. Wait staff is friendly and courteous and I see the owner there most nights. Nice sushi bar with four large TVs in view if you want to watch the game. Four large hibachi tables. hibachi tables are well organized, seated efficiently, and service is prompt. I have only been to Osaka for the hibachi, but the food is delicious. Though the prices may seem a little high at first, they give you more food than you could ever eat between the salad and soup plus your entree. They have some signature sauces that come with every meal, combine the two and you're in for a treat. The food is consistently good, however the entertainment that you might expect from a hibachi chef is usually lacking. They cook well and do a few tricks, but they're very reserved. read more

On top of that when I asked for it the waiter looked extremely confused as if he had never heard of it. Tobiko isn't exactly a rare delicacy, most places put on top of almost everything. Food was ok, but not stellar. What disturbed us more was the blasé attitude about my niece's food allergies. She has seafood and nut allergies. Her chicken came out on the same platter as the squid, and the chef put sesame seeds on her chicken. Couldn't eat it, and when we said something, he merely replied that sesame seeds aren't nuts. We did the hibachi and had the chicken, it was delicious. We also really enjoyed the soup and salad. We enjoyed the football game playing on nearby TV screens and thought the cook gave a really good show complete with onion volcanoes! (The cook talked). If I could give Osaka zero stars, I actually would. Their service is deplorable. After being ignored in a booth for a solid 10 minutes, we relocated to the sushi bar in hopes of catching a waiter's attention. A sulky looking waiter was also seated at the bar nearby, looking bored and doodling on a scrap of paper. After another 10 minutes, he walked behind the bar and got our order. To add insult to injury, he also was extremely sarcastic and rude. He never refilled our water or came back to check on us after taking our order (the sushi chef brought out the food). The sushi was of poor quality and made me feel sick. We also had to flag down... not one, not two, but THREE staff members to actually receive our check at the end of our meal. Furthermore, two waiters were walking around sipping their own drinks as they waited on customers. I'm pretty sure this restaurant does not meet the basic health code requirements. The people were sorta nice? Here so I'll give them two stars for that. This place is a hibachi sushi place (if you couldn't tell) I came here with a big group of friends on a Friday night, pretty early too. Honestly, I wanted to like this place so I wouldn't have to keep search for a good sushi place out here in Western MA; this place was not it. The service was okay at first and then it turned really bad. There was 7 of us and two had to wait 15 minutes for two simple makis, even though they were the first to order. I would never let that happen especially for a big party- it's weird eating without your full party eating. Took forever to get food or anything else here. The service was just terrible honestly; the people some were nice and some had the "I just have to be here and work" attitude. Sigh. Personally the restaurant made me feel really dirty or at least that's how I felt when I walked in - restaurant itself is not appealing. It's a big space but I felt squished and cluttered. Idk I don't recommend the place. Feels dirty, food isn't fresh at all, service was just ugh, and it was definitely not worth it. I would not come back, not even for a second chance for redemption. OMG my first 5 star! Woot! I get gitty talking about this place, it's amazing. First, it's right down the street from my condo, so I'm pretty much a regular. The menu is HUGE, it definitely has something for everyone. It has a wide variety of different sushi, tempura, and great combo specials. The atmosphere is fun, great for a birthday party or anniversary as the chef's put on a show, cooking right in front of you. If you prefer a more laid back meal, not in the mood for an onion volcano or catching cucumber in your mouth, then the full menu is available at the bar, which has plenty of seating. The portions are massive, I've not once been able to finish a combination of appetizer and dinner, and I can eat a lot... Not only does it offer quantity though, it also offers quality. The food is delicious, the sake is great, they also offer unique cocktails. Quality is also a good description for the service, the chef's, waitress, bartenders, all friendly and fun. Well I'll admit, we are regulars here and for good reason.The sushi is always fresh and really a great value compared to other places around, the Sushi chefs make it just as you like The service has never been a disappointment. They have 4 flat screen TVs , so you can watch the game or whatever may be on. We sometimes get teppanyaki (cooking table) which is fun, the chefs make it fun, and as expected the food whether seafood, chicken or steak is great. We usually end up with leftovers to take home. It is comfortable for a couple at the long bar or a party of 16 at the cooking table's. We always seem to keep coming back for more. read more
