Fantastic! Friends recommended this place and I am so glad I went. A close friend and I were meeting for dinner and we both love sushi, so we decided to try this place. The first thing I noticed about it was that there was a worm, welcoming environment and everybody who worked there seemed like they really wanted to be there. We were quickly seated in a booth and giving menus, and they brought us hot tea. Everything on the extensive menu looked fabulous! It was hard to make a choice. I eventually chose the Happy Friday roll. It was tuna, salmon, and yellow tail, avocado inside, with white tuna on the top with Chef's Special mango sauce. It was phenomenal and served on a cute little boat. My friend had the tricolor sushi assortment and said it was great. Everything was extremely fresh and tasty. The restaurant is small but not busy, especially at lunchtime. The service is excellent. The sushi is decent, fresh and there is a large variety of regular and special rolls that you can choose from. The hot food tasted like... Japanese food made by a Chinese person. So it was not really authentic? Or maybe you can just call it authentic Chinese food? For instance, the yaki soba tasted like a Chinese fried noodle dish. This means lighter sauce, less sweet, thinner noodles. The price point was good. Big bowl of noodles for under $20. I had a salmon, salmon avocado, and salmon mango. They include both miso soup and a ginger salad, so no need to pick just one. The ginger was top notch. The sushi rolls had a great rice ratio, as I don't like too much rice. The fish was fresh. I had the salmon mango last as my "dessert". My wife had the yellowtail mango and said it was a better "dessert" because the fish tasted sweeter. The staff were very quick during lunch. Quick to take our order and quick to bring the check. They also were constantly clearing every little small item off our table. I don't throw this around often, but it was the kind of service I'd expect to see at a Michelin star restaurant. My husband and I came here for a sushi date and to try this place out. It was great! The service was wonderful and attentive. The inside was small but very charming. It was so crazy busy as well with people coming to pick up take out orders and after eating there we know why! The sushi was great and tasted extremely fresh. They had an insane amount of different types of special rolls that are sure to please everyone with different wrapping include soybean paper which I had on a valentine roll and it was one of the best sushi rolls I have ever had. Fabulous lunch options that are filling and cheap! We ordered two 3-maki combos that each come with 3 sushi rolls, salads, and miso soups for $14.95 each combo. We also ordered a teriyaki salmon combo (salmon with veggies, one California roll, two fried shrimps, edamame, salad, miso soup and a side of rice)-$17.95. This was takeout. All in all, stuffed from that teriyaki salmon combo and it was beautifully packaged and delicious! The total was about $50 and fed four people and we had leftovers. Very well worth it. Eager to find a good spot nearby our home, we gave Ryu Gin a try post monitoring their ratings and reviews. On a Thursday afternoon around 1 pm, we called in an ordered a lunch special feast of two sushi, sashimi combos, and a two roll special. The sashimi combos were around $17 a platter while the rolls were around $10. The lunch specials came with both a generic salad and a miso soup at no additional cost. Fish - While certain pieces of fish such as the salmon seemed fresh and almost buttery, a few other pieces such as the mackerel and tuna seemed to be a little pale in color and lacked the vibrancy you hope to find when ordering raw fish. Rolls- the rolls were pretty bad, I have to say for a lunch special my expectations for basic rolls aren't too high but the rolls I ordered, spicy tuna and salmon avocado almost looked like mangled pieces of fish that they just hid by adding some crunch to everything. They literally had a team of people working three sushi chefs, three or four waitresses plus a support staff of a young man. As busy as it was, the service was as gracious as ever. Our server was always smiling. In fact, everybody was always smiling, even though they were so busy. I have never seen so much activity. I'd assume it was the owners kids, 11 & under that were roaming around the back of the restaurant which became a bit of an annoyance once their videos were playing behind us, while bumping the back is the booth we were in. Something tells me this is probably a regular situation for the summer, but I can't say for sure. Wouldn't have been too bad if they'd invest in earbuds. The sushi and food here is amazing. It's our favorite sushi restaurant that has a variety of other options for my husband and son who don't enjoy sushi. My son loves the bento beef teriyaki box. It's a perfect size for him. My daughter loves the Heavenly Roll and California Roll. All of the appetizers are delicious! The owners are local residents who are friendly and accommodating. Every time we go there the flavor is consistently delicious. The restaurant is small and cozy. They always give the us dessert or something "extra" to try.
