Excellent prepared meal. Service on top of everything. Ambience ok. Could use some piped in music.

Service was friendly, the food was flavorful, and the decor was finesse. See picture for the 6 things my wife and I tried: Cambodian sweet tea (as recommended by our server), Thai tea, salmon bites, krab rangoons, duck soup, and house special fried rice.

Mee ka thung w/beef and shrimp (upgrade charge $3), banh hoi, 1/2 lb of crispy roast pork, beef sticks, with drinks. Sprite and Vietnamese coffee. Mee ka thung: 0/5 do not recommend. It was bland. No taste. No charring of the noodles. The egg was overly cooked and we added that as an extra. The shrimp and the beef tasted off. It was fishy. Banh Hoi: 1/5 would recommend. Only good thing was the sweet fish sauce it came with. The pork belly was meh. Didn't have flavor. Tasted not fresh. Not crispy. Crispy pork belly: 0/5 do not recommend. The pork belly wasn't crispy. Tasted like they had it out for awhile and basically warmed it up when we ordered. The skin wasn't crispy. It was chewy. No flavor. No nothing. Did not taste fresh. Beef skewers: 0/5 do not recommend. Again, no flavor. No fatty pieces to counter the dryness of the meat. Nothing. The worst part. There were no pickled veggies. If they knew their skewers were dry, they should definitely have pickled veggies to off-balance the dryness. The only 2 good things that were good was the Vietnamese coffee and the fish sauce that came with the banh Hoi. Service was mediocre. Had to grab our own silverware from a near by table. Had to ask for plates. Had to ask for refills for our water. They didnt come around to check on us. We actually to wave them down. I don't live in the area, but even if I did, I wouldn't be back.

I was a little hesitant about sitting outside since, well, it's Gainesville and it seems to rain all the time. But the patio was incredibly comfortable, and the atmosphere was just as enjoyable as dining indoors. Even if outdoor seating is your only option, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The food was phenomenal, easily a 10/10. The sushi and sashimi felt incredibly fresh and authentic, and I had one of the best sushi rolls I've ever eaten. The service was just as impressive. Our server was genuinely kind, attentive, and made my birthday feel extra special throughout the evening. Between the incredible food, welcoming atmosphere, and exceptional service, Dragonfly absolutely lives up to the hype. I can't recommend it enough.

Every time we've visited, we have tried something new. For their appetizers, we always order the Brussels sprouts, Shisito peppers, and tuna fried rice. For rolls, we have really enjoyed Kobra Cai and Bomb. All of their drinks are also delicious. Our servers have been so friendly each time and always provided great service! The food comes out quick and they always check in periodically to make sure we don't need anything. I would highly recommend visiting!

Overtime, they've since…read moreincreased their prices and decreased their portions while keeping the quality the same. So for a while, I actively told my friends and family not to come here because it was the same quality, for an exorbitant price. This year, I gave it another shot. I came to this restaurant at different times with different guests, and although the original Sensei Asian Bistro I've known and loved is gone, they've definitely changed -- for the better this time! The quality of the food you eat definitely matches the price. The staff is well trained, and sweet. The ambiance is chill, I like the wingback chairs and the background music. The entire restaurant feels like it's improved drastically -- from the food, to the vibes, and the service. - I ate the lobster wontons, this was really good. - The tonkotsu ramen they have is seasonal from their summer menu but it is fairly priced -- probably cheaper than a lot of ramen places in Gainesville. However, you can definitely taste the quality. The noodles were chewy and bouncy, the broth was nice and thick. - I had the NY Strip too, that was good as well, very soft. I liked how it wasn't overcooked. - The nigiri set, has wasabi already put in between the fish and the rice, but you can definitely ask for more wasabi (or no wasabi). - I also ate the lamb chops -- the taste was delicate compared to a lot of places that serve lamb chops. I think I prefer their style because it did not feel as heavy in the stomach. - I also got the Grand Cru NY Strip. It is definitely worth $150. I literally choked on the fatty juices that came out of one piece. The Grand Cru is no joke. The flavor literally bursts in your mouth. It's very filling because it's so fatty. - For dessert I got the Kakigori. Personally, I like the shaved ice part -- I didn't like the crème brûlée part. It was too sweet. I know they sometimes have a tasting menu so I'm definitely waiting for that to come back!

There is both indoor and outdoor seating, with heat lamps available for cooler evenings. We had a reservation and arrived a bit early but had to wait until our scheduled time, which wasn't surprising since every seat was full. We initially sat at the bar, where the bartender promptly took our order. We had both hot and cold sake--the cold sake came in a can and was especially delicious. After a short wait, we were taken to our table, which featured large, high-back leather chairs that were very comfortable. Our waitress greeted us quickly and brought water right away. We started with a few appetizers. The lobster wontons with truffle were just okay--slightly dry and lacking a sauce. They were small and mostly wonton, with minimal filling and flavor. We also tried the dumpling appetizer, which came with only three very small dumplings. The wrappers themselves were very good, and each dumpling had a different spicy flavor, but there was only a tiny piece of meat in each. Overall, it felt overpriced for what was included. I also had the miso truffle soup, which was decent but mostly broth with very little substance. For our main courses, I had the scallops with mushrooms, which were very good. The dish included a nice variety of mushrooms and vegetables that were fresh and crunchy. My husband ordered the lamb chops, and they were spectacular--tender, flavorful, and truly melted in your mouth. The accompanying sauce was absolutely perfect. After dinner, we were each given a small box containing two wine corks, which was a thoughtful and pleasant surprise. If in the area again, we'd go back.
