I always hate to leave a negative review, but Lake City seems to be struggling with quality food…read more We ordered two meals: Happy Family and Crazy Tuna Roll. Both were terrible. The tuna felt room temperature and was pretty bad in taste. The Happy Family was not so happy. It was overcooked and had thick brown gravy. It was totally disgusting. During our meal, one waitress was mocking her $10 per hour wage while walking around with a feather duster on a pole, dusting the ceiling cameras and the HVAC vents. The dust was flying everywhere. What really was gross was when she walked over to the sushi bar with the feather duster over food, which was on a tray under her. Unfortunately, there was a man sitting at the counter 4 feet away from her. I could see the dirt landing on his food. Within 5 minutes, I left. Low standards if this is your restaurant. By the way, it's March 23, 2026. You might want to remove any references to Merry Christmas.

I've tried a few dishes, and my favorites have been the shrimp tempura roll (#1 favorite), the crunchy LA roll, dynamite roll, the tuna avocado roll, the tom kha gai soup, the avocado roll, and the avocado salad. Hospitality was great. I was a solo diner a few times I dined in, and the severs weren't weird because I was alone. I've also dined in with a friend. They were attentive and friendly on both occasions. Takeout service is good as well. I usually call in my order and it's ready when I arrive. Prices are reasonable on the maki rolls and the few Thai dishes that I've tried. Btw, they have Japanese, Thai, and Chinese entrées to choose from. So I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the mood for any of the above, though I've only tried a few of the Thai and Japanese menu items.

We are based in Jacksonville, so the drive was long, but worth it. Don't be fooled with the feeling that Ramen is a simple presentation of food. This was really an elevated experience that I would recommend to anyone. It's unusual for me to experience new tastes in dishes, but I was impressed with the caviar on the desert, which was new and somehow worked!

I was VERY impressed with how beautiful the items looked. So overall, a 4/5. Bloom- 3.5/5 Sweet & Spicy Sunomono- 3/5 Spicy Duck Tan Tan- 4/5 Service: 5 Service was fantastic. Quit and courteous. I was checked on very often. The servers were extremely knowledgeable about the menu and very helpful with selecting my dishes. The chef will often come table-side to introduce a dish or complete a dish with a sauce or finishing touch. Very impressed. Atmosphere: 5 The atmosphere is very nice. There are a few types of seating options. There's a "main bar," a smaller bar seating, the main dining, and an outside. I was seated outside, and it was a nice, cool day. There is also an open kitchen concept, so you can see the chef cooking as well. Value: 4 The pricing is relatively reasonable. While the food tasted okay, the service, atmosphere, and full experience truly makes this a worthwhile experience. Opportunities for Learning: 4 Lotus offers traditional ramen and Pan Asian dishes, there are many unique ingredients and cooking techniques that provide many opportunities to learn something new. Chef Barry is also a James Beard nominee so he is always exploring new dishes and techniques.

We started with the wonton soup, which was visually beautiful. The broth had a rich, inviting color and the wontons themselves were excellent -- thin, delicate wrappers with a very flavorful filling. Unfortunately, the broth itself was a bit underwhelming and lacked depth. A touch of hot mustard helped bring it to life, but it needed more natural flavor on its own. The standout dish of the meal was the Mu Shu Pork. Absolutely fantastic. The portion was generous and the flavor reminded us of classic Mu Shu from WoHop in NYC's Chinatown -- high praise. The pancakes were incredibly thin, almost paper-like and nearly translucent, yet soft and perfect for wrapping. This dish alone makes us want to come back. The Bang Bang noodles were another dish that looked beautiful when served, but the flavor didn't quite match the presentation. The sauce seemed watered down and there was quite a bit of liquid in the bowl, which muted the overall taste. It felt very close to being great, just not fully there yet. Overall, this was a mixed but promising first visit. There's clearly real skill in the kitchen, and when the flavors hit, they hit well. We will definitely be back and look forward to trying more dishes -- and we'll happily update this review after our next visit.
