I have been to this location twice now and both time service was exceptional! Really friendly staff and the owner came out to talk to the patrons. I ordered the gyros both times I visited because they were so good the first time. I have yet to order something new but I do want to try some of the sides next time. The falafel and hummus both look like good sides. The inside was clean and decorated appropriately. There is merchandise and a refrigerator if you want to purchase the special sauce. My buddy and I came in tonight, looking for something different than Mexican or pizza and we found it. I ordered the classic gyro bowl with a drink, falafel (4) and pita w hummus; he ordered the Moroccan chicken bowl with falafel (4) and baklava - both came with yellow rice. My classic gyro bowl was fantastic - diced tomatoes and onions, yellow rice (best part of the meal, light, fluffy, great flavor), gyro meat (slight brownish crust on the outside, moist in the middle), golden sauce was on top. The two sides; falafel was moist with a light brown crust and went well with the tzatziki sauce (which was good too). The pita was moist, spongy goodness but the only mild disappointment was the hummus - it tasted flat. I tasted the chick peas and tahini but nothing else, even the olive oil that was on it seemed bland. It seemed too smooth to be handmade but that's just speculation on my part. My friend said his bowl was awesome though I didn't try it but he did recommend the Moroccan chicken and the baklava, both of which exceeded his expectations. We stopped in today to try out their version of a gyro. The owner was super friendly and gave us the low down on what his gold sauce is about, since I do love a good tzatziki sauce. Well I was indeed surprised that his version of a gyro was super yummy. The sauce is fabulous and the little bit of hot sauce was a nice compliment. I recently relocated here from Chicago, where you could throw a stone and hit a few great Gyro places within a block of each other. And they were BIG! I'd spend a few minutes eating just meat just to get it foldable. I've been following O's on social media for a few months, they do a good job getting pics out there, and it was enough to put it on my radar. Today I was nearby and decided to stop in. It's a Saturday. Couple things caught my attention... I was the only customer there when I walked in, and it was noon, and the meat spits were not on and spinning. I kept my order simple. A Gyro with an extra pita and tomatoes. My thought process was to be able to make a 2nd sandwich later tonight with the abundance of meat I was expecting. When my 'to go' order was ready, I picked it up and immediately thought hmmmmm this seems really light. I got home and opened the box. I was so disappointed with the amount of meat, barely enough for 1 sandwich. And the meat was soggy. Since the spits were not on and turning, made me wonder where the meat came from, out of a drawer and on the grill to heat up? Not sure I got the extra tomatoes, and very few onions. And what's with the parsley??? It was covered in parsley. My search continues for a great Gyro and Chicago Dog in the area. First impressions are lasting. Had the opportunity to try O's Grill a few months ago when they were posted up at the UI's "Science Thursdays," lunch event, and what a treat! I had seen this food truck around, but luckily arrived at this event a little early so the line wasn't too long. Decided to go with the Thai Chicken Gyro based on the recommendation of the young woman taking orders and I was totally blown away. Think of your favorite version of a spicy peanut dish in gyro form. This one definitely carries a kick that had my face sweating while I was eating, but it was totally worth it. I'm not a fry fan but here I love the seasoning... well they served me old cold fries Which I was very shocked that the cook and the register lady thought that these fries were even acceptable, with the fact everything is sod separately! The location is perfect for a quick stop for healthy choices. The vivid flavors of the foods that we selected were outstanding and the portions were generous. The facility is very clean and comfortably situated with plenty of parking, easily accessible from the highway.
