I ordered two items online with Orvis. Used my credit card and my credit card for payment. Submitted and acknowledged. A few hours later I get an email stating I left these two items in my cart. I call Orvis, no answer. I email them. Hours later get a response your order is good, sorry. I get an email confirming the order at that time. Next day I receive an email that one item is not in stock but they will send the other item. I request the order cancelled and my gift card restored and my original credit card refunded. I request this three times with their customer service (the name customer service with Orvis is a lie, no service) but they want help me. Don't shop at Orvis as this is the 2nd time with Orvis this has happed in the last couple of years. No more Orvis, period. read more

Orvis is great. I am writing this review to highlight one of the team members there, Robert. He went above and beyond to ensure that I got what I needed in a timely manner. He called around to multiple stores and figured out what shipping option would be best given the timeline/situation I was in. He said he would get back to me in an hour and 20 minutes later, he called me back with a resolution. Very valuable employee in the Dallas store and applaud the extra effort that was done. read more

Orvis is a great standard in most all things in fly fishing. Great fly rods and gear threw out the store. Orvis is not just fly-fishing, they are geared also to the bird hunter, and they have women's apparel and one of my favorite, man's best friend, his dog. I have taken some classes here on fly fishing as well. Orvis is known for a high price for a great product. My very first fly rod was an Orvis 5 weight, nine foot western rod. Earlier this year the two pieces off of the rod came off. Now mind you, when the rod was purchased it came with a 25 year guarantee. I took the rod into the Orvis store, told them it was just out of warranty. The sales person looked at the rod and said "I think we can fix this rod and we will get it back to you within 6 weeks. We will have to ship it to the factory first and then they will ship it to you." Now being big into fly fishing, he might have notice me flinch, in not really wanting to let the rod get out of my sight. (That was the inner child in me, ha.) He looked at me and said we will put a rush on it. Could this salesperson read my mind, I thought. Now I tell you all of this is what customer service is all about. Orvis - Fly tying classes anyone? - Men's Clothing Near Me - Dallas, Texas

If I could give ten stars , I would. So it started with me stepping on the tip of my trusty 20 year old Orvis flyrod. After a brief period of grief I checked the Orvis web site for repair services and it said that any rod that is 25 years old or less, no matter what the circumstances were for damage, would be repaired for free. So I took my broken treasure to the Orvis on Preston Road in Dallas to check out this claim and it tuned out to be as true as written. They took the rod and said it would be 4-6 weeks and it would be shipped to my house. I patiently waited for four of the 4-6 weeks and called to see if they would check on the status. They said it was on track for the six week time frame. I hemmed and hawed and finally asked them if they had a program like a car dealer....a loaner rod while your personal rod was in for service. They said not formally but come by anytime and they would let me borrow a rod. Which I did that afternoon! Caught a bunch of small bass and perch in the Paluxy and the Nolan over the next couple of weeks! A few weeks later I got a package from Orvis at home and I anxiously opened it. It was not my rod....and it was broken in several places! Seemed odd. So I took it to the Preston Road shop again and quizzically asked why would I get a rod that wasn't mine and oh by the way it was broken. They did a little work on the Orivis computer and noted even thought it wasn't explained very well in the communication piece that came to my home, they couldn't repair my twenty year old rod so they were sending me a brand new rod. Well, yay for me, but look...it's snapped in several places. So they proceeded to say that they are sending me another new rod, but we are going to upgrade you to a 2020 version of the 9' 6 wt Orvis Recon and keep the loaner while we get it in the mail to you at home. Caught more bass and perch with the loaner. My beautiful new rod arrived two weeks later and I returned the loaner with a big grin and a thank you. I immediately took the new Recon out to the Paluxy. Moving upstream from the FM 205 bridge I made a backcast, caught it on a tree, made a way too forceful forward cast ....and broke it on the first day out!!!!!! Wow, so the next day I sheepishly returned AGAIN to Orvis with my day old rod and said , "Yes, I am an idiot" , I broke this thing and since I have only had it one day and you guys have been so nice I will pay for a repair. The Orvis folks at Preston Road laughed with (at?) me and said "no way". Our promise of repair no matter what still holds so expect your repaired rod in the mail in 4-6 weeks and here is the same loaner for you to continue fishing in North Texas water! I got the repaired Recon in the mail in the promised time frame, returned the loaner and wrote this review. I also bought a bunch of flies, some new forceps and a fishing shirt since. Ah, where to begin. Just before Christmas I went to the Dallas Orvis store. I just wanted 2 pair of jeans and 3 pair of khaki pants. The store was not busy. In the store nobody offered to help or even acknowledged my presence. I found 1 pair each of the pants and went to the one open register. The salesman, while trying, was not able to complete a computer order for the remaining pants to be shipped. After 15 minutes he called a manager. The line behind me was now 5 deep. A manager or more senior person arrived, made no eye contact or acknowledgement, and (after struggling) showed the salesman how to complete the order. While ringing me up the receipt machine ran out of paper. Another 10 minutes to get a receipt. After 30 minutes another salesman decided that all the people behind me would benefit from them opening another register (30 minutes had transpired before they figured this out). My three ordered pair of pants arrived on time with the jeans the wrong size (though the included receipt showed the correct size to be ordered). I will never shop there again. Should you decide to shop at Orvis, consider another store. read more

Orvis is great. My husband calls Orvis so much for advice he has them programmed in his phone and knows the sales guy by name. Extremely helpful employees. The number one great thing about Orvis is the return policy. You can return anything at any time even if it's ten years later, even if you've worn it many times, it's amazing! We now have three of their rods/reels and we love them, the warranty on them is great, we don't ever worry about breaking one of them because we know we'll be taken care of at Orvis. The best thing about this location is how near it is to our home! read more
