They have the only walk in beer cave and a decent selection of craft beers, including from the local brewery. I don't go to a store to make friends so I really don't care if the clerk wants to chit chat. I'm happy if they have a good selection and reasonable prices and I can get in and out quickly. If you live here or didn't stock up before you left the Cities, Walker Bay Spirits is a good option.

Now, if you have read my previous reviews, I am a bit of a snob. So, this is the place to go if you want to imbibe something a little classy (yes, they do have cheap stuff too). Their prices are average at best, but not to worry if it is the only place you can get your favorite bottle or beer. Honestly, check out both stores if you are in Walker. Moving quickly through a very small storefront while attached to a runner is not the same thing as being "out of control," especially when we intentionally made every effort to get in and out quickly to avoid disruption. Part of that urgency was also due to your reactive dog loose in the storefront (seems contradictory to your policy), which understandably increased the need to move through the space quickly and calmly. What I found most disappointing was the assumption that my dogs were not service animals without ever asking the legally appropriate questions. The claim that offering to hold my dogs was simply "helpful" also misses the point! That would not be considered appropriate judgment for service dogs. Businesses absolutely have the right to establish policies, but those policies should be clearly communicated and consistently applied rather than based on assumptions after multiple prior visits without issue! Hinting at something is not the same as policy. Furthermore, it is the business owners responsibility to make known such policy. My intention in sharing this is not to debate the situation further, but to provide feedback that may help prevent similar misunderstandings for other guests.
