Portage Brewing Company - Outside - Breweries Near Me - Walker, Minnesota

Just stopped by here 7/24. Honestly haven't had great luck with beer in Minnesota until now. All 3 Hazy beers were bomb. Brother loved the Oatmeal Stout and lager. We are in MN every summer, so we will definitely be back. Keep rocking it Portage! read more

We visited Walker, MN while we were on vacation at a cabin resort near Park Rapids. After walking around town some, we stopped in here. I am not a beer drinker, but my family is. The menu of beer wasn't huge, but that is sometimes better than having too many to choose from. They all enjoyed the beers they chose. Cost was very reasonable. The gal behind the bar was helpful and kind. The ambiance was very nice, with indoor and outdoor seating. We took the opportunity to play a new board game we'd just purchased in town. A very fun way to relax for awhile. read more

Awesome place, what a great space. Really friendly service and welcoming atmosphere. Their beers are excellent and there are generally plenty of options for styles. Creative beers that are well executed. Great patio. A true gem for a small town brewery, it doesn't get much better than this for a "remote" brewery not close to any big cities read more

Great local spot! Love the outdoor patio that looks over the lower patio. They had a great live band on the Saturday afternoon we were there. No food but they have a next door food spot that you can call and order food and they will walk it up. Great variety of beers!! read more

Portage Brewing Company - Flight! - Breweries Near Me - Walker, Minnesota

This is the best brewery in a 2.5 hour radius. We loved it so much we came back the next day for seconds. I loved their blueberry beer. The brewery is bright and spacious. They also have a patio and live music. It can get crowded and busy here. read more

Such a cute modern brewery! Stopped with my husband on a daydate while visiting the area. Started with a flight and settled on the coffee cake (him) and the feather fall (me). Lots of outdoor seating plus a very aesthetically nice indoors ! Friendly staff and great beer. From our seat we could see leech lake! The table over from us ordered food from a nearby restaurant since Portage only had pretzels avaliable! Would definitely come again! read more

Six of us stopped in recently for some dinner and beer. Between all of us, we tried most of the beers and kombucha. I especially enjoyed the summer stout while we all ate delivery from Piggy's out on the patio. It was a great experience. I really wanted to try the "Black is Beautiful " stout but we didn't have time. So we went back two days later and I got to try it and the Coffeecake Blonde. We really enjoyed the beer and the atmosphere. read more

Drove 50 miles to check out this brewery. Great new building, excellent beer, friendly service. I sampled two IPA's and a blonde ale. All three were wonderfully balanced. Definitely worth the trip! read more

Excellent beers. I'm still not a huge fan of IPAs, but the Coconut Stout was surprisingly good. Brought our lunch from a local shop, which was also very delicious. I wish I could remember the name of the shop!!!! It's just down the hill... read more

Great array if IPA's and sours. Awesome staff and plenty of take home crowlers. Great place to spend an afternoon or evening.

Such a cute new brewery in Walker! The space is super well done and my friends and I really enjoyed hanging out here one afternoon. This brewery has a really good environment with both indoor and outdoor space. The outdoor patio also has string lights that I'm sure would have looked really great if we had been there at night. They had 3 beers available when we were there and all of the options were very nice! A nice place to spend your afternoon while in Walker. read more

This is a really nice place, and the beer is good, solid craft beer. The ambiance was very cabin-y, which was nice. I really like the branding of this brewery, it's got a great aesthetic. The staff was great, very helpful and easy-going. If you're an alpaca like me, and need a good brew in Walker to get away from the alpaca farm rat race (ugh, the hay politics are so annoying), go here! read more

Great choice of experimental beers. Friendly servers and casual atmosphere. We came in after getting rained out of our hike. Totally soaked and it was ok. Bought tee shirts very good price. Beer $ reasonable. We really enjoyed the experimental ipa. Got crowded and could have used more help. No food but bar snacks which were yummy. If they had more food it wood be 5 stars. Go there!!!! read more

Stopped about 1pm on a Saturday looking maybe for some live music. They were out of 1/2 their menu of beers so our group of 7 was challenged with options. Left us with only 3 options plus 1919 root beer. Fairly busy place, small & simple, nothing terribly special. No music, had to clear off our own table, fairly messy. Experience wasn't stellar, just okay. Mehhhhh.... read more

Visited this location the other day very busy bar offered no food no snacks are staffed and wait on you still had the 6 foot mask thing because the Covid but the thing was all the beer basically had the same flavor even though they said it was different variety wasn't impressed with it I would recommend passing this one and going to a different brewery unless you really want to try it just because you're there read more

Excellent, flavorful unique beers and a wonderful staff that makes you feel like family. Hang out inside during the winter and play a board game or catch some sun on their patio that overlooks the main street. If you're boating in, Walker has a free dock and you can walk to the brewery in just 5 minutes. They also have a private room with local artwork on the walls that looks great for events or private catered dinners. read more

Pretty good brewery for being open only a couple of months. 2 of the 4 beers were sold out, which we took as a good sign - they are obviously popular! We liked the 2 beers we were able to try and are excited to go back and see what else they craft up. Cute design, convenient location and friendly owner were added perks. read more

I loved this place! The bartenders were super friendly and the beer was great and they had live music which is always a plus! I recommend the coffeecake blond ale it was like something I've never had before! read more

Fun place & great staff, everyone was friendly & welcoming. The beer was delish. We will definitely return

What a fun place to pop in to enjoy a tasty beer! This place isn't intended to be all things to all people, so it is not a full bar and they don't have anything on tap besides their current brews (which may sell out) and 1919 root beer for the kids. All that said, we could have stayed for hours. The deck is beautiful, the seating (especially in the front) is adorable, and the staff/owners friendly. They have games, magazines, etc. to while away the time. And they have great-looking gift items to boot! Great addition to a wonderful little town! read more
