Excellent customer service and care. Had me in the doctors room with in minutes of coming in door . X-ray tech was excellent and the doctor was exceptional. Very well taken care of. Two thumbs way up Ortho Carolina ! ( Also - not sure who created the page for this business but it's Ballantyne not Ballantine. ) read more

The gentlemen that's at the front desk is really rude. He doesn't need to be at the front handling guest with that type of attitude. He's not helpful and rude you treat your guest with respect. And when I tell him that he shoved his shoulders. I will not be returning. read more

My provider Rob Powers, PA-C earned this rating. As a rule, I save 5 Stars for heavenly beings. He was both professional and personable. Extremely competent and skilled. (And this is about someone who stuck a needle in me!) read more

Went into today for an MRI. The MRI team was nice and professional. However the front desk team were the opposite; cold and robotic. Not a great first impression. I'd rather check myself in and not deal with attitude. read more

If you're a disabled veteran then stay away. not only do they not know how to bill the VA system, they seem to almost want to waste time only to try and charge you $250 cash. Look for another place and save yourself the trip and the aggravation. read more

I'm a true believer in giving credit when due. Dr.Shawen deserves higher than 5 stars! His knowledge, attitude and "bedside" manners were above and beyond! He performed surgery on my foot and the entire experience was so easy, and follow up was wonderful. Highly recommend for any foot issue you may have! Big shout out to Matthews Surgical Center as well!!!! read more

I would give this place 0 if I could. I was a few minutes late to MRI appointment and it was the worst experience of my life. The nurse or whoever she was, I as the rudest person on the planet. I'm literally in a giant boot and knee scooter and this lady goes u can't take any of this into the room with u can u walk on it. I said would I need a knee scooter if I could walk on it? The lady running the MRI said she can wear the boot in to this nurse who should've known that. You're a nurse. So I'm limping to the room and this nurse isn't even trying to help me the second I get into the room mind u I'm crying she takes my glasses so I can't see and makes me get on the table by myself with no assistance and she goes "take ur boot off" mind u MRI tables are high off the ground so I'm crying and struggling to get this boot off and she is in the other side of the table and doesn't care. I'm crying the whole MRI because I'm in so much pain and when it done she says literally nothing to me doesn't even walk me out doesn't help me get my boot back on or off the table. She didn't even hand me my glasses that she took from me. The lady running the MRI luckily helped me back to the front but that lady needs to resign as a nurse. You took an oath to help people and care for them... you're failing at ur job babes! Everyone else in the office was pleasant it sucks that this lady gets to represent such a great place. I was at the south park office earlier that day and every one of the staff was nice. read more

Very disappointed in the level of service tonight. Usually the doctors are very kind and caring but not the one we had the pleasure of seeing tonight. She was very grumpy and confrontational. Not at all pleasant towards my 14 year old daughter. read more

Ive now had to be referred to Orthocarolina rehab for a pinched nerve in my neck. I had therapy at this same location in Ballantyne 2 years for a nerve down my leg they work miracles This pain has been awful not being able to turn my head an the pain would go up my head an I was taking enough advil to sedate a large animal lol This location also has urgent care after 530 . The therapist they have are so kind an help with any pain you may have after ice/heat or today they did the eletro pads not sure the name but I felt so much better. Still more treatment to go but they are not trying to sell you things its there if your interested. I will say from 2 years ago the young lady who was my therapy person is still there. Sometimes places shuffle folks around or they quit. If you have a joint issue or yoive had surgery n need therapy go to Orthocarolina Update : I had to have Dry Needling done , Im going to tell you don't be afraid Its different than acupuncture. Acupuncture just barely goes under the skin but dry needling finds that tight muscle an the needle goes right in to release the muscle. Yes its hurts for about a minute an I hate needles!!! RJ Myer is the only Physical Therapist I will ever let do this procedure :) He knows what he is talking about make sure you ask for him. read more

I met with Dr. Shawen on Jan 12 2021 he requested an MRI for my ankle It was broken so I waited..... the office scheduled my MRI on Jan 31 a Sunday? ok, so two days before my MRI the office calls me to tell me the insurance company has not gotten back to approve the MRI so they have to cancel my MRI appt, what? The billing department didn't even submit an MRI request until Jan 28, 2 days before my scheduled MRI and one business day before the weekend! why did they wait till the last minute to reach out to get approval from insurance? so because of that, the turnaround wasn't fast enough and I am stuck waiting. When I called to find out what had happened, they didn't care, really didn't want to hear it and just about gave me every excuse they could! no one in the office cares unless you are calling to pay a bill, horrible customer service, and no compassion, they seem to be too busy to ever help you with any questions and they definitely give you the run-a-round. do yourself a big favor, find a place that actually cares! read more

Went in to see Christopher 'Rob' Powers, PA-C and was SO pleased with this gentleman! He was REALLY thorough, and knew within a few minutes what my issue were (both knee and elbow issues which I had no idea why I was experiencing such pain). He even was personable with my son, who had to accompany me. His recommendations were very proactive, but were also NON-surgical and NON-medication oriented. He felt that some anti inflammatory meds could help, but was honest that this would only help the pain and not address the issue. Re-building the injured areas required more maintenance than that. I am so pleased and will be going back HERE if I ever need Ortho-care again! read more

I called to see schedule an appointment to see one of their doctors after suffering from a painful wrist injury only to be told they could not schedule me based on a reported unpaid PT bill from 2007! i personally visited the office to discuss with the office manager and to clear my record. I presented my letters from 2007 which clearly supported that this charge was in error. He apologized for the inconvenience and promised to investigate the bill. Correct response I thought. Then, the other staff member involved asked if I wanted to pay 50% of the charge ($284.00) in order to be able to schedule an appointment!!! Of course I refused as I demonstrated the charge is not valid, so why would I agree to pay half of it! I will certainly never recommend Orthocarolina based on this poor experience. One week later and I have not heard from a Business Manager as promised. read more

I honestly was skeptical going here after reading the reviews but I have no complaints at all and am, in fact, very pleased with my visit. This was my first time going here (or any OrthoCarolina for that matter)- made an appointment with Marla Mathis, PA for carpal tunnel symptoms. She is wonderful. Very informative and I felt like she cared about what I was going through and even helped calm me when I needed cortisone shots in both wrists. I feel like many nurses/doctors are just like "shut up, take the needle and go..." Nope, not with her. Definitely recommend a trip to see her if you have hand/wrist issues. You won't be let down. I showed up about 15 mins. early for my 10:00 appt. and was taken back at my appt. time and no later. It seemed like a busy morning too. Was not waiting long on her to come into the room either. She was very punctual. Very pleased. read more

PA Rob Powers was not helpful at all and spoke in a very condescending tone. Waste of time and money

Extremely friendly. Loved how they handled everything with COVID. Dr. O'Neal, was very informative. He ordered an MRI. And I got in that day!! Amazing place. read more

This office has to be the most disorganized medical office I have ever has a displeasure to deal with. From front desk all the way to the M.D. in this case Dr Laseski seemed clueless. Please think long and hard before choosing this particular practice. Also Dr. Singer is included in this review. He is only interested in assembly line knee replacements. read more

Went in for my grandmother to get checked out. The staff was nice but wasn't professional at all. Doctor left room in the middle of practice to take a phone call. Then after the appointment was over they put her in a brace however they put it on backwards (not very hard to confuse the part for the thigh versus the ankle part) and it caused her more discomfort. Very minimal instruction for what to do and no paper on the diagnosis or further instructions. The staff seemed more about leaving for the night than our needs. Do not recommend this place. (Not to mention I've had great time at other Ortho facilities and there's plenty of benefits just not happy with our experience here tonight) read more

Physician's Assistant (Cofer) saw our child for a right arm garage fall injury, set the surgery 8 days from injury & determined that closed surgery was needed. Cofer also splinted our son's arm, but emergency re-splinting was needed within 1 day. It seems as though physician assistants are making decisions that used to be made by surgeons & patients may get pushed through an over-loaded system. Despite surgery with optimistic Dr. Clark, months of physical therapy & a consult with specialist Dr. Gaston, our son now types primarily with his pinky on his right hand, because his elbow doesn't turn properly. He can't put his palm down. (Imagine you have a permanent handshake-like elbow angle.) This impacts activities like playing basketball or how one would get change from a cashier's hand. OrthoCarolina recommended additional surgery, but we learned through consultations with experienced surgeons at top medical schools & hospitals that Orthocarolina failed to identify a serious post-surgical problem with bone in the wrong spot (synostosis). This bone formation makes additional surgery too risky. Sometimes it is best to accept a poor surgical outcome.------ There is an illuminating healthcare industry movie called DISCLOSURE, only available via SorryWorks! Facebook site, which explains poor medical outcomes. Other ideas for handling problems. #1) consider calling a NC teaching hospital for a "specialist." (In-state, UNC was quite helpful. Out-of-state, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia agreeably did their consultation via telephone. " #2) Consider private physical therapists (Standouts are St. George Physical Therapy & Matthews Physical Therapy) #3) Medical record errors occur, so immediately purchase & read all records. When you get copies of xrays, make sure views are individually listed on the disc. If you went to an urgent care facility 1st, you may need to get records there also. #4) Don't delay if you suspect problems. If needed, Facebook's ProPublica Patient Safety Group has members who offer advice & has a "SurgeonScorecard" form for reporting errors. Novant Matthew's Medical Library assists with medical research. Good luck & let's post our OrthoCarolina experiences & help others! read more

I want to give zero stars but yelp requires at least one star to write review. If you want good healthcare you're much much much better off either starting with a good physical therapist in Charlotte or going out of town. Orthocarolina owns Charlotte and they are one huge conglomerate mess. There's success in numbers and this place is all about that. If you want unindividualized care, if you want impersonal staff interaction, if you want hurried doctors that act as if they're annoyed by your questions, if you love throwing money at the wind, doctors that really don't try and ask you questions to gauge your condition, and if you are good with not getting any real answers about a major condition that's affecting your whole life, well boys and girls this is THE place for you! They're website boasts excellence, care, and service! That's a joke and makes me laugh now as I have to find humor in all of this to keep myself from losing all sanity over the worst healthcare experience I've ever come across in my life. I write this review to advise anyone out there to do their homework and be very careful in choosing their healthcare provider. Unfortunately Charlotte is a big city with a lot of people and this company rests on that with ease as I'm sure they're staff and doctors can sleep well at night knowing they'll be paid well regardless of the type of service they provide. read more

This is one of the worst places I have been. The whole place is a mess and super disorganized. I waited over a month to see a Dr. when I got there they said they were a little behind...try over an hour I had to wait to go back then wait again 30 mins for the dr to come back. He came in asked a few questions said I needed an MRI (which they should have known if they looked at note prior to me arriving). So for a total of 5 mins of no help but spent 2 hrs there I had schedule for another time for the MRI a week later even though there was no reason they couldn't make the order for another imaging center closer to me. But its clear they wanted the money and wouldn't do it for me. After a week I received a VM about the MRI which I didn't understand and now I need to see a 2nd dr. I have tried to call back several times to make an apt but I can't wait on hold 20 mins each time I call that place. It it seriously the worst specialist I have ever been to. All they care about it getting patients in and out and as many as possible to make money. They don't respect your time and the nurses and front desk people are rude. read more
