Hands down, best street taco shop in the Austin area that we've been to. Absolutely delicious. If I could give more stars I would. Every bite packed with flavor, the pastor with pineapple especially!! I personally am a big fan of pastor con piña so I'm so happy they offer that instead of charging extra for pineapple. Hubby loved the bistec and ortegas especiales, in his words the latter was "an adventure park in his mouth". Service was great, wasn't a long wait and woman working cashier was so kind and welcoming! Loved getting to enjoy the ambiance overlooking the hills with music and shaded seating area they offer. If you're in the area or want to try a new place, definitely stop by here!!

Juan & Nelly Ortega have one of the best taco trailers around Austin! Their breakfast tacos are amazing! You've got to try their Ortega Taco or Migas tacos. Wow just amazing and so fresh! We also just had them cater our party for 50. They provided beef and chicken fajitas with all the fixings and they were the best we have ever had! Everything was prepared fresh and on time! I would highly recommend them for your next gathering. Everyone raved about the fajitas, fresh guacamole and those amazing tortillas! Thanks Juan and Nelly for making our event special with your amazing food!

Food was tasty but a few things could have been better. 1) drove up to the truck and as soon as we saw several customers in line without masks we decided to try calling the order in. The woman that picked up asked me to wait and I said ok. Seven minutes later I could still hear them cooking and taking orders but seems like I was forgotten. At this point, my husband decided to order in person. There were no non-masked people around and no one was waiting in line. I hung up after I saw my husband was about to order. 2) I saw people arrive after my husband and leave with their orders. Time passed and everyone was gone except one customer, after 35 minutes of waiting, yes thirty-five, my husband walked up to inquire about the order. She pointed to a bag sitting there and said "it's right there".... wth?! Really? Wow. 3) $9.50 for their quesadillas is pricey for a food truck. If you're really hungry, I recommend instead you get 3 tacos ($3 bucks each) - it would be slightly cheaper and you'd get way more meat. 4) Menu states the tortillas are handmade and perhaps one needs to be specific when ordering (my husband wasn't asked for preference), but tacos were made with flour tortillas. Maybe people that are into Tex-Mex cuisine (or just dont know any better) are okay with that, but that's a big no in my book. I occasionally make an exception for breakfast tacos (as we are in Texas) but regular tacos should be made with corn tortillas (it's not only tastier but healthier). Para ustedes que crecieron en Mexico, se comerian un taco de tripas en tortilla de harina? Guácatelas! 5) They gave us two salsas. The red one seemed to have roasted tomatoes in it and the heatness level was good. The other one was a creamy green - we didn't care much for it. Ive only seen this kinda of creamy jalapenos salsa here in TX (in breakfast tacos). Seemed a bit too Tex-Mex for me.

Tasty breakfast "el especial" tacos topped with verde and red salsa!

Can you say "breakfast tacos" three times fast? I can't because I'm still stuffing my mouth with the especial breakfast tacos from this friendly taco truck - Lol! I've only been to this place couple times for breakfast and a couple times for lunch because they are usually closed on evenings and weekend times when I try to grab food here, not because I don't crave them. I have tried many tacos in this area and these are "hands down, mouths open" the best tacos I've found so far without giving to driving 25+ min. The hours they are open don't sync well with my schedule so I bought extra the last couple times to eat leftovers. They are that good - worth the try, especially if you prefer authentic Mexican tacos over Tex-Mex. Their lunch tacos have fresh cilantro and come with a fresh lime sliver, just the way I like. The verde sauce has a nice kick!

Try the Ortega's special for breakfast (in taco or burrito form) and douse it in the creamy salsa verde. It's pure Heaven!

We tried the migas and potato egg and cheese - perfect for a breakfast taco fix. Unlike many places where tacos skimp on filling, these were generously stuffed--I only needed two instead of my usual three. Plus, they weren't greasy at all, which was a big win. Their homemade spicy and mild sauces were a highlight; both were incredibly tasty. If you like spice, definitely go for the spicy sauce! You'll also notice their love for dogs when you visit because there's a lot of dog decorations. This is a food truck, so limited seating. Service was great. Food was delicious!

I moved here from Southern CA a few years ago and can't say enough great things about TX... but we…read morearen't huge fans of "TEX MEX". I have tried dozens of places in Austin for tacos and just can't seem to find anything close to the tacos I enjoyed when I lived in San Diego. Living in San Diego, I spent a lot of time in Mexico and I would definitely say they make tacos a particular way. And it was easy to find places in Southern CA that served what I refer to as "authentic" Mexican tacos. When I came to TX, I had heard all about TEX MEX and the "tacos" and was really surprised at the difference between the tacos here and the ones from Mexico/SoCal. But, I'm resilient as a "foodie". I will keep trying until I find that one place and yesterday... I finally found what I would say are the MOST authentic Mexican tacos. I happened to find out about this place on a Facebook post and drove out. It's not a place I would have driven by and even if I did, I might not have stopped. But again, I am determined to find someone who can make tacos like I'm accustomed to eating. It's a little trailer located right on the road and they have a big "TACO" sign on the road so you shouldn't miss it. If not the sign, you will probably see a crowd of people enjoying tacos or waiting for their order. I started off ordering what I would consider the 'basics' - a Carne Asada taco and an al Pastor taco. For me, if these are good, the rest of the food is likely to also be good. For starters, they prepare it when you order it! This is a great sign. So many taco places I have been to, they have the meat all ready and just scoop it into a taco shell. Taco meat should be made to order and not premade so already, you know this is a quality taco shop. You can get corn or flour tortillas but I strongly recommend the corn for a taco. They serve them the traditional way with two tortillas and the tacos come with a generous serving of meat. And talk about hot and fresh! I've also found here in Austin, it's been difficult to find legitimate salsa. I had the green sauce and without question, the BEST salsa I have had since moving to Texas. They really should be selling their salsa! My first round of tacos was so amazing... I ordered more! I ordered more of the carne asada and al pastor to take home to the family and even ordered some bean & cheese burritos. Oddly enough, a bean & cheese burrito is such a staple of just about any Mexican restaurant in SoCal but try and get one here in Texas and it's almost impossible. It was refreshing to find a place that makes a bean & cheese burrito and make them authentically; in a large flour tortilla. If your only experience with Mexican food is "Tex Mex", do yourself a favor and make the trip out and experience some authentic tacos. If you have moved here from SoCal and are missing tacos from home... you'll want to make the drive out here for these tacos! And if you like spicy, you must try the green salsa. By the way, to save time, they do take phone orders so you can always just place your order on your way over and they will have them ready when you arrive. They are very nice people and the food is amazing!

Was seated in about the middle of the restaurant along the wall. I love these seats cause you can see the coffee station and what's going on back there. Basically people watching. It was a little loud today, so I put on my head set and listened to some music. My server was Joyce and she was sweet. Took my order, which was breakfast tacos and a pineapple mimosa. My drink came super quick, and my food didn't take long at all. I mean like a couple minutes quick. Tacos were outstanding. And honestly as soon as I asked for a corn tortilla over the flour I thought, they're going to fall apart. But they didn't. And when you see the size of these tacos it will blow your mind that they didn't. Good corn tortilla. Scrambled eggs are fluffy, the potatoes are seasoned a little. They added bacon for me a that was chopped up inside the taco. Honestly it was a lot of food. I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it. But I did, and enjoyed every bite.

It was alot of families and friends gathering there as well as a few different people working on computers and reading. I ordered a cranberry mimosa was absolutely delicious. What really blew my mind was that the server told me we couldn't sub the toast on the breakfast plate with the tres leches French toast bc it wouldn't "taste right together". I'm now immediately put off because what kinda flavor yall have on your food to where sweet and savory don't go together. So we ordered masala chai, the mango lassi smoothie, breakfast potatoes and bacon. The chai and smoothie were both very disappointing. I love masala chai and drink it often enough to know that this chai tasted heavily watered down even thought it was freshly made. The smoothie didn't taste like mango at all, it tasted like mostly like nothing with a side of banana and oats. I wish they had the ingredients on the menu because my man wouldn't have ordered it if he knew there were bananas in it. The breakfast potatoes were pretty good after adding salt and pepper and the bacon was the best thing out of what we got. It was flavorful. Overall, not impressed with this place.
