I was fortunate to meet Ben in an elevator in the building I used to live at (a rental). He seemed very genuine and friendly. I was already thinking of buying eventually, and since I had a positive enough impression of him, we connected and started looking at properties shortly after meeting. To be honest, I'm usually initially hesitant to trust realtors or sales people who earn a commission on the sale, because of my uncertainty of their motives and whether they truly have their clients interest as the top priority. But from the beginning, I felt zero pressure and saw that he was full of 'aloha' with a sincere desire from the heart to be there for me and help in any way. As we started looking, I got to know him and discovered how genuine and knowledgeable and competent he truly was, and how he really seemed to have my best interests as the top priority. Ben was always very helpful and generous with his time, patient with all my questions and concerns, and really expressed in his words and actions how he wanted what was best for me and would always be there for me, whatever I decided, and even if the timing wasn't right to buy. It turned out that I wasn't really ready at that time for financial reasons, and when we decided that it would be best to continue this later, he was very professional and understanding. I felt that I could trust him. Ben was patient, never salesy or pushy, and always consultative and helpful. We kept in touch and about half a year later we started the search again. Even though I met other realtors, none seemed as trustworthy and special as Ben, so there was no question in my mind that I would use him when I was ready. During that period where I wasn't ready yet, he also took the time to meet me for coffee and educate me on the process and contingencies. The entire searching and buying process went as smoothly and efficiently as I could possibly imagine, and I credit him for making it seem easy--by him asking the right questions, understanding my needs and desires, understanding and anticipating all the issues that could impact the process specific to my situation, showing me properties in line with what I explained that I wanted, communicating every important detail ahead of time so that I would be informed and not surprised, communicating with the other realtors involved to get any info that would be helpful or necessary, managing my expectations well, and staying on top of pending issues and following through always. Ben was always very responsive and generous with his time anytime of the day when I emailed, texted or called him. He also provided sound answers and advice, and was always honest when he didn't know something and would get back to me quickly. I was really impressed throughout the entire process how good he was at consistently keeping me informed, letting me know what to expect, and being there for me every step of the way, as he always said he would. The process went very smoothly and quickly, and part of that reason was also due to the loan manager (Tommy Nguyen) that he recommended but never pushed onto me. He explained why he liked working with Tommy and how he was different than others, and Tommy turned out to be really great, just like Ben! The end result is that there were really no frustrating issues or significant problems, and the process went smoothly. I found the property I wanted very quickly after we started looking since he knew what I wanted, and got my offer accepted in my first try due largely to his counsel and help and communication with the selling agent. When it closed, he also gave me some thoughtful and generous gifts that I really didn't expect, but were very much in line with his genuine character and generosity that he displayed throughout the process. I really felt that I gained a friend as well as a top notch and unique realtor, who really understands how to partner with his clients and everyone else involved. A couple years later I decided to sell my condo, and Ben was great and helped me above and beyond what I'd expect from a realtor. Since I was overseas, he took care of things for me that I couldn't do, and coordinated with my tenant for showings. Ben offered to do anything needed, including moving and selling my stuff. He helped me sell a few pieces of furniture, picked me up from the airport when I returned during closing, transported a rug I gave to a friend, picked up something from Home Depot requested by the buyer since I didn't have a car, and even helped me clean and prepare my place the final walk through when he came over early and saw that it wasn't up to his standards. Ben is a special kind of person and realtor who truly cares and treats everyone like a friend and ohana (family). He really knows and understands real estate, and is passionate about the industry and helping people through these life changing decisions do what's best for them. Mr. Ben Eger was my Listing Agent for my condo in Honolulu, HI. In the beginning, I had purchased this property in 2023 with the goal of having my first property/home in Hawaii. He assisted me in finding this condo which was challenging given that I could not afford to purchase any high priced fee simple property. Having lost my past home to a short sale in California in 2011. Being able to purchase this condo on my own meant so much to me. It was not an easy process purchasing a condo for the first time. He helped me search for condos that were priced well which took some time and was challenging due to the heavy competition from other buyers who would purchase properties in cash which I didn't have the means to do. Mr Eger was very patient in diligently searching for fee simple condos within my price range.  One seller did not disclose, the history of a recently deceased resident. Mr Eger found out this history from reading the condo documents and informed me which I am relieved to have had that information making the decision not to purchase it. I would not have been happy to find out that fact after purchasing. There were so many condo docs to read through. Mr. Eger helped me every step of the way. Plus it was not easy having to travel to and from the mainland to view possible properties. After finally finding the right condo within my budget, I had a wonderful year in Hawaii. I unfortunately had to sell my condo due to financial concerns. Mr. Eger went over and beyond his duty as a Listing agent by helping me with repainting my 2 bdrm 1 bath condo. This was a very difficult task due to the left over popcorn ceiling on the edges of each room. He did a wonderful job when it was completed. As soon as, I informed Mr. Eger that I wanted to sell. He took pictures right away so that we could list it. The speed and efficiency of the process to getting the condo listed on April 8th, finding a buyer on April 9th and getting an offer on April 10th was within a matter of "3 days". I was truly amazed! I flew back from California on April 17 to pack up the items I had left , dispose and gave away furniture and other kitchen supplies. Mr. Eger dismantled my queen size wood bed frame in a record breaking 10 min. He then hired professional cleaners that very day I arrived and was able to show the condo the next day to the buyer on April 18th. He had thoroughly explained pricing strategies, contracts and addendums, meanwhile getting inspections done, ordering condo docs, negotiating with the buyer through their agent during the escrow process. All these detailed work behind the scenes were completed so smoothly and efficiently. It was quite impressive. He went above and beyond again, by helping me clear out remaining items from the paint job and helping to clear other remaining leftover items in the condo which was difficult due to a non-functioning elevator. So he had to walk up and down 3 flights of stairs. I'm sure I wasn't his only client during all this time. He literally works 16 hours a day 7 days a week. I know this because I would ask questions from early morning 8am and sometimes late at night (12 am). He manages his Real Estate and Property Management business , He also teaches a real estate course for future agents. "My heart-felt thank you to Ben Eger for the excellent job he did in selling my condominium in Honolulu. Due to health issues I needed to return to Thailand and leave my condo to be sold in as-is condition. A friend of mine recommended Ben Eager as a very competent agent. I contacted him from Bangkok and was immediately impressed with his friendliness, knowledge and practicality. We arranged everything via telephone and/or email (digital signatures etc.). He even assisted in scheduling and coordinating appointments at the US Embassy in Bangkok to have my signatures notarized. With Ben's initial listing price strategy, which included a comprehensive market analysis, he arrived at a good listing price. Ben coordinated all the inspections necessary, handled the requested repairs and upgrades to the unit, including a new garbage disposal, a security lock for the lanai sliding door, bathroom refresh, painting, and installation of a new toilet and seating. After a buyer was found, Ben also took care of the removal of all furniture the buyer requested as well as returning electrical equipment on my behalf.
