Beyond the quick fix, Bill was incredibly communicative, patient, and genuinely helpful. He explained what was happening, what he was doing, and made the whole experience feel effortless and stress-free. It's rare to find someone who combines deep technical knowledge with great customer service, but Bill absolutely does. Needed to go back into the bike shop as we were having problems with the gear shifters that were just fixed. Bill stopped what he was doing, checked out the bike quickly and gave us a quick tutorial on the gear shifters on the trek bike that frankly are fairly complicated. My wife and I were looking for new bikes to replace our 20-year old road bikes. From the moment we entered Oro Valley Bicycle, it became obvious this bike dealer is a first-class operation. We were pleasantly and immediately greeted by Margarita. She was super attentive, listened well and made us feel very comfortable. She patiently showed us multiple bike options, adjusted seats for proper fit and let us ride a few bikes in the parking lot. That was an invaluable exercise as the bikes we "thought" we wanted were disappointing. Next Margarita showed us the latest in Specialized lightweight fitness bikes (both road and hybrids) with "Future Shock" front suspension and carbon forks and we were hooked. There was never an ounce of pressure; just the opposite actually. Margarita introduced us to this cool machine that measures the spacing of your sit bones, kind of like an electronic version of an ultrasound that's built into the seat of an electronic bench. This insures proper saddle sizing. After the sale, she followed up and reminded us to bring the bikes in for no-charge adjustments for as long as we own the bikes. Margarita went out of her way to insure our satisfaction. Oro Valley Bicycle on Oracle is our new bike shop for sure. Very knowledgeable staff, but every time we have been there, they dont have what we are shopping for. Each time we have been required to go to the store on Ina to find what we wanted, including our new bicycles. I understand that maintaining inventory has financial impact. Great customer service at this store, can't speak for others or corporate, I was helped by the team that does all the setup/tuneups in the back. All appointments and readiness were prepared before my bike arrived, shipped there from the Montrose Colorado Trek store, that store I'm lukewarm about, as a result of issues from shipping to paying for the bike. I can't say I've ever had any issues at this particular store, and this is my third Trek bike purchase, two here and one from the Montrose store. The problem now in having shortages with bikes really tells you all about the particular store, good or bad. I'm not sure what this store would've done if the buying process was reversed, me living there in Montrose, trying to buy it in Oro Valley AZ, not sure, but I would hope it would've been a better experience than I had. Corporate needs to change the way they do customer service, but that's another review. As for this store, I complement the service team, two guys back there, one in particular helped immensely, I'm bad with names, but he took care of me. I was initially disappointed in there customer service. I was trying to address my riding style and tire preference when I brought my bike to them for tire replacement. He said "we'll replace the tires according to the type of bike you own". Then he said " we have the tires in stock, be ready at 5:00 PM today." Took three days to get tires but they replaced the tires with the appropriate tires at a good price. I would go back. read more

I'm not sure why I keep giving this shop a chance, but I'm done. Customer service is terrible. I went in today because I crashed and landed on my head. I showed them the helmet and they said I should keep wearing it, even though others say to retire it. They either have no idea or just don't want to bother helping people. When my husband & I first moved here, we both were shopping for new road bikes. Even deep pockets did not motivate them to be helpful. Sad story but true. read more

I've never run into any issues with this bike shop. We have several bikes that we've taken to them for work and one that we bought from them. If you're unfamiliar with cycling, they'll help you get into the basics and start you out on a bike that you're comfortable with. They've got gear, equipment, bikes, maps, snacks, etc. Like every bike shop, there are certain brands that they carry and certain ones they don't; some of the ones they do carry are Specialized, Felt, Scott, Pivot, BH, Raleigh, Diamondback, Co-Motion, Moots, and Animal. Don't let the "Pricey" rating fool you, their prices are great but they carry some really great, thus expensive, bikes . . . along with very affordable models. No junk. Bicycle buying is always a pleasure in this shop. Paul, the owner really knows his stuff and it is reflected in the inventory he chooses. Chris and Frank are the two most experienced wrenches (along with Paul). I have never seen them stumped, even when I was. There are two other locations, both similarly attractive. Brought my new, first ever high end mountain bike for assembly. Didn't buy it there. But Chris (mechanic) and the entire staff were gracious, professional and pleased to help. I have a compromised left hand, so I need all shifting and brakes on my right hand. (As I have set up on my road and cross bikes via a fairly simple cable splitter. ) Not so easy on a Mtn bike with hydraulic disc brakes. We discovered a single side dual braking system from HOPE Industries. All In with labor would have been approx $525. Chris suggested using the stock Sram brakes as they could be flipped and both brakes could likely be assembled on the right side. Chris suggested we try it. Nothing to lose and if it worked, it would save me time and $525. Clever guy who really tried to make it work for me. Boom! The brakes are perfect and a breeze to operate. I recently purchased a Specialized Rockhopper which was beat up a bit more than I expected. I took my bike in on a Friday afternoon and showed them the extensive damage. The staff answered all my questions and promised me they would call me on Saturday. Called in Sunday afternoon and was told the work hadn't started but they would let me know before they replaced any major parts. This might have partially been my fault as I told them I wouldn't be able to ride for a week so it was OK if they took longer. Sunday evening I get a call on the parts that need to be replaced and I gave them the go ahead. I asked the multiple times if certain parts needed to be replaced and they reassured me most of them didn't. They didn't try to nickle and dime me on parts. I really appreciate that. Picked up the bike and everything looks great. The front derailleur was completely bent which they fixed, did a whole tune up, chain replaced... etc $100 later it was a usable bike again. Originally I picked this placed just because it's the closest bike shop to my house but after the wonderful service I have a reason to go back for my next tune up. Maybe other places are cheaper but I'll stick to this bike shop for now. read more

Been trying to get my rear hydraulic brakes fixed there for a year. They are close and work Sundays but......they always blame me for the problem. "You must of sprayed chain lube on the rotor, or you must have been riding the brakes hard on a steep downhill....etc. after they installed brand new shimano brakes the rear brake had to be bled multiple times by them . stay clear and do not let them wrench your bike. read more

Super happy with OV Bikes. I'm in the market for an e-bike to commute with. They were prompt in getting back to me on my query and let me test the e-bike I was interested in. I loved it, but then was concerned about the warranty from the manufacturer. which wasn't the same as others in the industry. Paul Carbone, the owner, has been working the manufacturer to get the warranty extended, and OV Bikes is also going to let me take it for a whole day to give my commute a try. If it looks like it will work, I will probably purchase the bike, but even if I decide to go another way after trying it on the commute, I am very pleased with the level of service and care Paul has provided. Pricing was fair based on internet searches of comparable bikes, and I'd always rather buy local at a fair price and have the local shop to work through any kinks on purchases and maintenance. Highly recommend this shop if you're in the market for a bike. read more
