I was 2-3 minutes late for my appointment, I tried to check in at the kiosk but couldn't find my appointment (already cancelled by office staff at one minute late). I tried a second time with check in from a different kiosk but couldn't find my appointment. By the time I walked upstairs and tried to check in at the office I was told my appointment had been cancelled because I was late - it was 6 minutes after my scheduled time at that point. The last time I was there I had to wait almost 1 hour to be taken back and even longer in the exam room waiting. Waiting has been the norm for me over time at this clinic and I've always been patient and understanding. I can understand clinical time management, but when the patient is required to be flawless with arriving on time but the clinic can be an hour late it doesn't feel very respectful or fair to the patient. The gap between their commitment to timeliness and their expectations of patients is just too discrepant. I no longer feel connected or valued for how I have shown up on time across years or the understanding and patience I've shown. It causes me to feel less safe and open in that setting. I also suspect that quite a few are not willing to undergo the necessary and rigorous process to determine the validity of their complaint. Vanessa follows very specific guidelines to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment protocols. I find her to be compassionate and understanding of the difficulties dealing with actual chronic pain. Appointments are timely. The only time I have ever had to wait 5 or 10 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, is due to Vanessa spending some extra time working with a patient in need. I commend her for that. Lastly, several people seem to have an issue with the gentleman who answers her phone. Every time I have called, Mike answers promptly. Never had a problem making an appointment. He's succinct and friendly. Is it the fact that he has a slight accent that cause some people's dismay? If so, they might have more issues than just pain... When he finally came in, the first thing he said to me was "why are you here, what can i help you with?" - I FILLED OUT 20 PAGES OF PAPERWORK. YOU SHOULD ALREADY KNOW WHY I'M HERE. Second thing he said was "I don't know why you're here, I don't really treat what you have." The staff obviously booked me knowing full-well that they weren't actually going to do anything to help me, just so they could get paid for a visit. And of course there will be no consequences for them, there never are. When i spoke with them they said they were "different than other pain clinics" because they offer prolotherapy and stem cell therapy. They're not. This is just one more self-important doctor who treats you like you're a drug addict for asking for pain medication despite having well-documented pain causing conditions. I can't get any help anywhere for pain, despite trying all kinds of alternative methods because doctors are so afraid to prescribe pain medication because of the selfish fools who abuse them.
