Mr. Steven Shipley, physical therapist at Central Physical Therapy, is a Zen master, a Jedi knight…read moreof physical therapists! I wish I could explain how intuitive and knowledgeable he is. After many decades of my doing dentistry mostly standing, he figured out how to get my body back on track by reawakening my core muscles which I had turned off by constant disuse. He gave me exercises to do during my day to reawaken my deeper musculature so it could start again properly supporting my body. Just as one example...gripping my feet into the floor, massaging the floor so I activate my core musculature. Another--doing "snow angels" while lying on a foam roller (and other secret exercises while you're down there that you have to find out by coming here ASAP!) In addition, he started me on strengthening exercises (that involve stretching at the end of the stroke) for my legs. Now I have to live by the Nike mantra, "Just Do It!" The good news--Medicare coverage is great, especially if you do some of this at home daily. Then you can go and get your weekly Steve "fix" for many weeks to come. Get a referral for every year to keep yourself tuned up!

I had one hip replaced three years ago, and recently my surgeon recommended physical therapy to help strengthen my hip and back mussels in hopes of putting off replacing the other hip. At 69 I was sceptical but then I met Steve Shipley at Central PT. Steve has not only been a great coach, he has been able to make excersising "almost fun" Steve is not for wimps but he is fantastic at what he does. My last appointment is tomorrow but I feel I will stay on my program, and will be much stronger in my daily activities, and a much safer scuba diver. All my friends want to go in and see who this person is that finally motivated me. The entire staff is knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. I would highly recommend them, Marge Strother

The fine folks at Optimum Physical Therapy are committed to helping you help yourself get better…read more Aaron Ziebart opened Optimum in 2009 when he recognized a great gap in quality physical therapy services available in Roseburg existed. He made a smart choice and Roseburg is the better for it. From my first call, when friendly, professional, wise in the ways of insurance Office Manager, Kristin, answered and helped me understand the way forward, through my first visit to the homey, orchid filled front office, I knew I was in the right place. Then, I began my first session with Aaron and there was no doubt. A fine, fit, skilled expert who radiates kindness, compassion, and who has a great sense of humor, Aaron took the time to collect a through history, both physical and emotional. Aaron understands the connection between mind and body wellness, and while he is first, an expert in the mechanics of the body, he is just as importantly (in my mind) a person who helps you connect the dots between what is, and has been, going on in your life to the condition you present when you arrive. Aaron also understands how to tailor, then pace, your treatment plan. I left feeling inspired and hopeful that the crippling pain which caused me to seek his help might be about to let go of its hold on me. I have a few weeks of hard work ahead--which is always the secret with PT. Do the work! Optimum is located in a cozy, refurbished home. The two work out rooms I saw were outfitted with the necessary tools. The intake and assessment room was immaculately clean, decorated with photos of Aaron's bright, shining family, along with some nice landscapes. You have choices for your care, even thought the insurance industry can make it hard. Don't give up. Advocate for yourself and choose Optimum. It's the best in town.

After today, day 3 with Ray- we can already see amazing results, that some people did not believe would be possible! We have been heavily assisting my aunt to get her out of bed- today we saw her practically mobilize herself from bed to wheelchair alone- and then to our total amazement, she walked down and back a long hall with a walker. In writing this- I feel it may seem impossible to think You could see these results- but it's not! If Your loved one, wants to get around again after an illness- or has experienced atrophy feom staying in bed... Ray will more than likely be able to help! Also- he has a very positive and great manner with my aunt that definitely brings a "Ray" of sunshine with his visit! My aunt is happy to do the work! Thank You Ray! ; )) Will follow up, when we see even more results!
