A Cautionary Tale: My Experience with Cascade Health Physical & Hand Therapy…read moreReviews are a powerful tool--for both consumers and providers. As patients, we rely on them to make informed decisions. For businesses, they offer a chance to reflect, improve, and respond. Unfortunately, Cascade Health Physical & Hand Therapy has consistently failed to address the concerns raised in its reviews, and my experience only reinforces that pattern. I was referred to Cascade Health by Dr. Butters at Slocum Orthopedics with high expectations for specialized care. I was dealing with a serious issue in my right hand that required the attention of a certified hand therapist and an edema specialist. Instead, I was assigned to Shea Caddell, a trainee. In his own words--documented--he admitted, "I'm in training and a little overwhelmed." During my first visit, Shea had to lean over to the next station to ask Casey Rossberg, a certified hand therapist, for help. I became concerned when Casey asked if he remembered how to take hand measurements and mentioned the need for an edema specialist. The session was disorganized and unproductive, yet I was still charged a co-pay. I was assured that my next appointment would be with the appropriate specialists. However, when I returned the following week, I was again placed solely with Shea Caddell. There was no communication, no follow-up, and no sign of the specialists I was promised. When I asked about Casey and the edema specialist, I was told, "They've been really busy." That's not an excuse--it's a failure in supervision and accountability. After two disappointing visits and no progress, I canceled all future appointments. I later received a call from Deanne Bain, the office manager. I shared my concerns and was invited to send an email outlining the events. I did. But after that--silence. No response, no apology, no refund, and no outreach from upper management. When I returned to Slocum Orthopedics and shared my experience, they immediately arranged for me to see their in-house hand therapy specialist. Within five minutes of that visit, I received more attentive, competent care than I ever did at Cascade Health. The difference was night and day. I've since contacted my insurance provider to review the charges and the lack of appropriate care. I urge anyone considering Cascade Health to read the reviews carefully. Your health and trust deserve better. In my case, that better care was found at Slocum Orthopedics--not here.

Mr. Steven Shipley, physical therapist at Central Physical Therapy, is a Zen master, a Jedi knight…read moreof physical therapists! I wish I could explain how intuitive and knowledgeable he is. After many decades of my doing dentistry mostly standing, he figured out how to get my body back on track by reawakening my core muscles which I had turned off by constant disuse. He gave me exercises to do during my day to reawaken my deeper musculature so it could start again properly supporting my body. Just as one example...gripping my feet into the floor, massaging the floor so I activate my core musculature. Another--doing "snow angels" while lying on a foam roller (and other secret exercises while you're down there that you have to find out by coming here ASAP!) In addition, he started me on strengthening exercises (that involve stretching at the end of the stroke) for my legs. Now I have to live by the Nike mantra, "Just Do It!" The good news--Medicare coverage is great, especially if you do some of this at home daily. Then you can go and get your weekly Steve "fix" for many weeks to come. I had one hip replaced three years ago, and recently my surgeon recommended physical therapy to help strengthen my hip and back mussels in hopes of putting off replacing the other hip. At 69 I was sceptical but then I met Steve Shipley at Central PT. Steve has not only been a great coach, he has been able to make excersising "almost fun" Steve is not for wimps but he is fantastic at what he does. My last appointment is tomorrow but I feel I will stay on my program, and will be much stronger in my daily activities, and a much safer scuba diver. All my friends want to go in and see who this person is that finally motivated me. The entire staff is knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. I would highly recommend them, Marge Strother
