My wife and I saw Dr. Smith intermittently for about a year. I initially consulted him regarding…read morethe use of peptides for insomnia and memory issues, while my wife sought help for histamine-related symptoms. At first, I was impressed by his thorough note-taking and the amount of time he spent reviewing our histories. In that respect, he appears to provide a high-quality service I agree with other reviewers who have criticized his prescribing practices. Even if a patient is already taking numerous supplements--which is generally inadvisable--he routinely adds more. Excessive supplementation can overwhelm the liver and other regulatory systems. A sound long-term health strategy usually emphasizes fewer supplements at lower doses. Based on my experience, he seems more focused on selling supplements from his in-house vitamin shop than on minimizing risk to the patient. His approach could best be described as a "shotgun" method. He frequently prescribed four or five supplements or medications at once, making it impossible to determine which product is helping, which is ineffective, or which may be causing adverse reactions. In my wife's case, most of the supplements and medications either caused side effects or had no benefit at all. More concerning was his apparent lack of interest in identifying root causes. My wife's care focused almost entirely on symptom management rather than diagnostic testing. It was only after persistent urging on my part that he agreed to order a breath test for SIBO. When the test returned positive for hydrogen-dominant SIBO, he dismissed the result outright--despite confirmation from her primary care physician and the testing company. After several more unproductive visits, we paused treatment and pursued further evaluation independently. A colonoscopy revealed small-mouthed diverticula in the ascending colon near the ileocecal valve. These pockets can trap stool, promote bacterial overgrowth, contribute to SIBO, and potentially trigger mast cell activation. My wife's symptoms align closely with both conditions. At our final appointment, I informed him that I had important new diagnostic information to share. Despite this, he continued prescribing additional supplements. Only near the end of the visit did he ask about the new findings. After explaining the colonoscopy results, he again denied that she had SIBO. This raised an obvious question: why were medications and supplements prescribed before meaningful diagnostic work was done? Why did I have to initiate these tests myself? My own experience with peptides raised additional red flags. My first peptide order was shipped from a pharmacy in Phoenix, Arizona, on a day when temperatures was around 100°F. The peptide arrived two days later already reconstituted, packaged with minimal insulation and a single small ice pack. Peptides are fragile compounds that degrade easily when exposed to heat or transport stress and should never be shipped after reconstitution. When I raised these concerns, Dr. Smith insisted the peptide would still be effective, but that is not what the science says. That shipment cost me approximately $200 in unusable product. I later ordered a different peptide during cooler weather. This time the peptide arrived lyophilized, but it took over 14 hours at room temperature to fully dissolve--far longer than expected. After injecting, I experienced flu-like symptoms and contacted Dan Smith again. He offered no explanation for the prolonged reconstitution time, no guidance on whether the reaction was normal, and no clear dosing protocol. Despite presenting himself as an authority on peptides, he could not provide a standard epitalon protocol or explain expected side effects or indicators of efficacy. I paid him specifically for guidance, yet was left to figure everything out myself. Ultimately, I discontinued use, resulting in another $300 lost--bringing the total cost of unusable peptides to approximately $500. Every one loves a good critic. This is based on my ongoing experiences with OnePeak specifically in…read moreTalent (not all good). With ANY medical provider, YOU MUST ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF. To get the most out of your visit, come prepared with a list (concerns and questions). At least then your provider is aware of the direction of care. Nobody can read your mind or detect a problem if you don't specify your concerns. Learn from my mistakes... After avoiding the doctor for multiple decades (no issues, no symptoms worth noting, hardly ever get a cold)... I had a life altering surgery (few years ago). I have since been prioritizing my full body health; focusing on natural/homeopathic rather than prescriptions whenever possible. To be fair, I am also very leery (and anxious) when it comes to traditional medical recommendations of any kind. I was referred by a friend and am SO GRATEFUL to have found Sarah Kalina (a family nurse practitioner with a masters degree). Over time, I have come to trust Sarah 100%. She is extremely open-minded, non-judgemental, specializes in treating underlying causes for various female related issues. She is knowledgeable and on top of the current studies with it comes to hormones (men & women), weight management and all things female (in my case). Sarah is also more than capable and willing to perform small procedures like cyst removal without hesitation (saved me a dermatologist appt $$$). I have saved so much time and money in the recent couple of years with Sarah. She is honest and forthcoming with recommendations for diet and natural remedies for preventative health. With Sarah's guidance (after ~18 months), I now have near perfect blood labs and I have never felt so good! I have never been pressured to purchase any of One Peak's infamous vitamin supplements, but I can appreciate that they are available to purchase and are legit combinations of natural supplements that really do what they claim (I buy individual components for specific goals at a lower cost on amazon and ShopNKart). Also, IF One Peak is not in your primary insurance network for blood labs, you can request OnePeak to send your lab orders to another hospital (save $$$). The front desk staff, well... hit/miss. The lady with manages the Ashland/Talent offices is awesome! She is friendly, efficient and knows how to use all aspects of their software to provide information, schedule, move labs to the portal, check statuses, etc. The redhead with glasses seems a little gruff, BUT she is also super knowledgeable and I can 100% count of her following up on anything she touches. The "nutritionist" is another story. Everyone is nice enough, but what a waste of money. I think the nutritionist here have nothing more than an online certificate vs any formal education. I have yet to be told anything that I couldn't google (high protein, low carb, low sugar, lots of water, avoid processed foods - a duh). I once had a Dexta scan (bio-metric scale) and all the nutritionist did was read me the suggested calorie intake printed on the results (not helpful). Worst part is, you can't just have a visit with your PCP and use the biometric scale, you can only use it if/when you book an appt with the "nutritionist" because she's the only one that has the software on her designated laptop. Also, this is not covered under my insurance as a medical service so the co-pay is higher. So basically I had to pay out of pocket to use the bio-metric scale. At least they printed the output in color *lol* In Summary: Sarah Kalina provides OUTSTANDING care and over the years I have come to trust her 100%! I highly recommend her as a PCP IF she has any availability. Pass on the nutritionist at OnePeak (in general).

I told her I would only give my credit card if going into a terminal. I had to repeat myself three times with three different people for them to understand. They thought it was perfectly natural to have someone's credit card lying around on a piece of paper with random people walking back and forth. I guarantee you the MA would have gotten up and someone else could have easily grabbed my credit card info. They should take care of these things BEFORE the appointment as it was a 30 minute fiscal speaking to three different people to explain the same thing I do not want my credit card info left on a piece of paper. I am in Texas and no where does it state they can't prescribe outside of OR. If they had said that online when scheduling I wouldn't have wasted my time or money at this place. After a 10 minute consult I asked about getting bloodwork done in Texas and the prescriber said I didn't hear that and then wanted to send my product to my cousin in OR to send to me, no thank you. They still demanded FULL payment of 245 for 10 minutes of the nurses time who could not do anything for me. The knocked it down to $185 which is still insane for nothing. A complete waste of my time and money, This place is super disorganized. Even if I lived there I would not go. MY cousin recommended and the only reason why I scheduled a virtual. Never again. I will have to watch my credit card for fraud charges.

My provider there is Monica but she was busy on March 26th. and couldn't see me for a UTI. I saw…read moreNeal instead. After a very brief visit, 10 minutes at most we discussed medication for a reacurring problems,UTI's. He prescribed a med that I had taken before that worked for me, Nitrofurantoin 100 mg twice a day, quanity 20 pills. I picked up my med's from the pharmacy. I read the label, it said four pills (100mg) every six hours for seven days, quanity 20. Well 4x7 is 28. The quanity on bottle said 20 so not enough to cover the timeframe. I was concerned about the discrepancy between what Neal said and what was prescribed. I went back to the One Peak office in Central Point and asked to speak to him about the difference in dosage. I was told he had a client and I would have to wait which I did. Later someone came out and told me he had gone to lunch and I would have to wait longer. An appoinmnet that started at 10:00 a.m. was now 1:00 p.m. I felt like they were wanting me to leave at that point. After that as I continued to wait a female employee came out to talk to me in the waiting room. She suggested to me that I change the dosage. Shocking, who is this person and is she qualfied to even tell me that, very unprofessional and was it even safe? I continue to insist in speaking with Neal about the dosage since he is the one that prescribed it. Finally I was allowed to speak with him about the correct dosage. Unfortunately that is not the end of the problems I had. I was told the office would call after the urine cultures came back to make sure the med's I was taking would take care of the infection. It's been 13 days and no one from that office evey called me. So I called the office today to find out why and see if the med's I had been taking would work. I 've been on med's for ten days and don't even know if the med's prescribed are working or if the med's needed to be changed. I don't think I have to tell you what the serious consequences could have been if your taking the wrong med for ten days for a UTI...it could have moved into my kidneys. This whole experience has been very frighenting. I have no confidence in getting any medical care at that office after my experience. I called the office again and asked for a copy of my urine culture because I feel like I need to check and make sure the med's I was prescribed will work for the infection. When I called and asked for Monica to call me, what should have been the typical call back about med's etc. I was asked to come into the clinic for an appt., why?...$$$$. I declined. I was then asked to to do a telemed call, why...$$$$, again I declined. I never received a call back from Monica but did get a message via another employee there. I feel the person that dropped the ball was the PA Neal who was the one that treated me and failed to do the normal backup (phone call) needed as per results and med's. Needless to say I'm will no longer be a patient of One Peak Medical. After reading all of the negative reviews I have a agree with most of the posters. It's all about "Show me the $$$$"
