They fixed it almost 3 years ago ( our anniversary is 9/27) and on the way back from New Jersey - our transmission gave way again - and let me tell you, we were concerned about how to handle this. Mike was amazing - he didn't balk at all (at least to us) when he had to find a place that was as close as he could get to where we were brokedn down - Cherry Hill NJ - and that would take us in and handle diagnosing and fixing whatever transmission problem it happened to be. (I will yelp about Mike's Transmission in Collingdale PA too). Mike's Transmission in PA worked well with us and with FNA and although we had to stay in NJ for a few days, we were happy to get our van back. The one thing that I have to say about Mike at FNA - he is very kind on the phone with people like me who haven't got a clue. I had a terrible encounter with the business owner Jim. He was extremely rude, curt and not customer friendly at all. After an unpleasant dialog over the phone , he told me that if I didn't get my car off his lot immediately that he would charge me storage fees. I walked to the business and waited around for him to return and collected my keys. He didn't even have the courtesy to apologize nor care. If I could rate my encounter a zero I would have. I would strongly encourage others to think twice before considering using this business purely from the customer service aspect alone.

I would not have replaced the transmission if they had given a complete evaluation. Car is now on its way to the scrap yard.

Paid my dues went on with my day, no problem Flash forward needing a new oil change, I go to a different shop, closer to home and he pops up from under my car and tells me to not go back to where I went (which is Norwood Auto) because the filter (the dirty one) was not for my car, that it was the correct size but not for my car, meaning it fit, it just shouldn't have been in my car.) THE CLEAN ONE, is supposed to be in MY car. I'm confused and disheartened that a 15/20min job took all day to be seen, with an incorrect part used and overall was rushed with lack of communication? Sure money is money but make sure to LOVE your job before committing to it. Based on the positive reviews here, I took my automatic Honda Element with a jolting shift between…read morefirst and second gear to Manny's to be evaluated. The transmission worked fine otherwise, it just had a harsh shift between 1st and 2nd. They drove the car and determined that I needed a $3,200-3,500 rebuild. I did further research on this problem and found that a common issue was a bad 28260-PRP-014 Transmission Dual Linear Solenoid. A part that did not require removing the transmission as it bolted to the outside. I ordered a rebuilt one from Amazon for $50 and had my local mechanic install it for an hour of labor. Transmission is now good as new. Shifts smoothly in all gears. I rather doubt Manny has never heard of this problem as it affects Honda Civics, Accords, Pilots etc. I avoided being scammed by doing my own research. To be fair to Manny, another local transmission shop gave me the same advice and pricing. Buyer beware.

(I was right about the high quote from the dealership by almost $400.) I asked the person who greeted me at the shop if they had time to complete a thorough check of the car while they had it for my brakes and they did. When completed, their review included the work on the brakes and only the usual maintenance type things with no pressure for any additional, or possible unnecessary work. In fact, they appreciated my need to control my expenses and made suggestions on how I could get the most out of my car. The people working there were polite, knowledgeable and honest. They recommended I bring it to Sullivan Tire for an alignment. None of the other shops had suggested an alignment, so I figured at this point what did I have to lose. I got the alignment and I am now light free! I would recommend Ted's to anyone who is having getting answers for a problem with their car. They are wonder diagnosticians and I am sure they would be great at repairs, it they could have repaired my car.
