My longtime mechanic had retired, and I wasn't sure where to go next until I discovered D&G Auto Repair on Yelp! In August 2025, I brought my car in for brake service (pads and rotors replacement). From the very beginning, I felt I was in good hands. Paulo, the manager, responded to my Yelp inquiry almost immediately. He was professional, kind, and attentive. He listened carefully to my concerns and explained everything in a clear, respectful way, something I truly appreciate. I felt a strong sense of trust that he genuinely cared about my car and my safety. When I arrived at the shop, Paulo was just as professional and kind in person. He made me feel confident in my choice to use to D&G Auto Repair. After I left my car, he followed up via text with an estimated bill before starting any work, which gave me peace of mind and control over the process. The shop itself is small but clearly run by expert technicians, and the waiting room is clean and comfortable, a nice bonus! I returned yesterday with a question about a noise I'd heard. Tony, one of the technicians, came out and personally walked around my car with me. He pointed out how clean it looked and even asked about repairs I had done elsewhere. He gave me a mini lesson on body repair which was surprisingly enlightening. He then gave me directions to the nearest Auto Parts store and Car Wash. That kind of extra care is rare and so appreciated. We have never really used an auto repair shop, seeing as he does it all, yet this was one thing that needed to be done after replacing the transmission. One word : IMPRESSED. The inside of the shop was sparkling sparkling and clean and the wonderful auto mechanics were friendly and always kept me up to date with the status of my vehicle! The invoicing was absolutely flawless and I was charged exactly what was quoted. In fact, I paid less than quoted, considering the extra repairs done as a military discount! The warranty is very considerate and generous, right along the lines with what the dealership itself offered. Furthermore, I paid about $2,000 less than I was quoted by the Chevrolet dealership in Putnam, Connecticut. Upon getting into my vehicle I was blown away of the performance! I was in the…read morecar repair business for over 40 years and have seen and heard the good, the bad and the terrible. These people are the best! They were recommended to me by my regular car service guy when my car needed transmission work. They told me up front that they didn't rebuild Subaru CVT transmissions but they were happy to put one in that I supplied. They checked the transmission out, replaced the seals and filter, installed and tested it. I had to drive 30 miles to get to their shop and if I had to drive 100 I would do that. Can't say enough nice things about them.
