My longtime mechanic had retired, and I wasn't sure where to go next until I discovered D&G Auto Repair on Yelp! In August 2025, I brought my car in for brake service (pads and rotors replacement). From the very beginning, I felt I was in good hands. Paulo, the manager, responded to my Yelp inquiry almost immediately. He was professional, kind, and attentive. He listened carefully to my concerns and explained everything in a clear, respectful way, something I truly appreciate. I felt a strong sense of trust that he genuinely cared about my car and my safety. When I arrived at the shop, Paulo was just as professional and kind in person. He made me feel confident in my choice to use to D&G Auto Repair. After I left my car, he followed up via text with an estimated bill before starting any work, which gave me peace of mind and control over the process. The shop itself is small but clearly run by expert technicians, and the waiting room is clean and comfortable, a nice bonus! I returned yesterday with a question about a noise I'd heard. Tony, one of the technicians, came out and personally walked around my car with me. He pointed out how clean it looked and even asked about repairs I had done elsewhere. He gave me a mini lesson on body repair which was surprisingly enlightening. He then gave me directions to the nearest Auto Parts store and Car Wash. As a woman with limited knowledge, I wanted to be sure not to overpay, so I called a few places and East Coast Auto Repair offered to check my car out the next morning, which worked great for me. (I was right about the high quote from the dealership by almost $400.) I asked the person who greeted me at the shop if they had time to complete a thorough check of the car while they had it for my brakes and they did. When completed, their review included the work on the brakes and only the usual maintenance type things with no pressure for any additional, or possible unnecessary work. At that point I could choose to have it fixed or call someone to tow it away. I was expecting a failed transmission and a bill running into the $1000s. On the NEXT DAY they surprised me and called to say they looked at the car and it was not a failed transmission (which I thought it was) but a broken front axle. $565... did I want it repaired? (yes). It was fixed before noon on Thursday. It is very rare to get a company to do the right thing every step of the way. These guys did it even quicker than initially quoted. I am not easily impressed and these guys impressed me a lot.

The invoicing was absolutely flawless and I was charged exactly what was quoted. In fact, I paid less than quoted, considering the extra repairs done as a military discount! The warranty is very considerate and generous, right along the lines with what the dealership itself offered. They were recommended to me by my regular car service guy when my car needed transmission work. They told me up front that they didn't rebuild Subaru CVT transmissions but they were happy to put one in that I supplied. They checked the transmission out, replaced the seals and filter, installed and tested it. I had to drive 30 miles to get to their shop and if I had to drive 100 I would do that.
