Scheduled service for today, the guy told me he would get every inch of our house and get in the crawl space and take care of everything. My boyfriend called the other day to confirm all they'll be doing and they said "well we'll see what needs to be done", when my boyfriend asked what that even means he was hung up on. This place lied about having bugs in my house I called two other exterminators for a second and third opinion and the other two companies said I did not have bugs. When I asked Orkin for my inspection fee back after being able to prove I didn't have bed bugs they said no even though they lied to me. I am an 85 year old veteran, my son died in the pentagon on 911 and I just lost my wife of 60 years and this is how Orkin treated me. Do not ever do business with this company. read more

To summarize my concerns, the pipe/rock and sump pump are still not installed/complete. The other items were not completed until August. Nobody from Orkin came out after the project was over to check their work as I was told so many times they would. After reviewing the work myself, to my amazement, almost every scope of work had not been completed. Shingles were damaged on my roof during the project causing water to leak into my home and rodents to gain entry. The vapor barrier was not fully installed, missing many areas of ground coverage. Debris and trash leftover under my crawl space. See attached Owner review of services report. I can't believe this is something that Orkin didn't want to follow up with and check out before allowing their customer to experience such damages caused by their mistakes. Regarding the final two incomplete tasks(pipe/rock and sump pump), after my second notification of incompletion, Orkin sent a technician out to throw more rock against my foundation walls after being reassured that the pipe would be trenched. The sump pump was installed in the wrong location. Because of this, water has continued to puddle in this spot under my house causing the floor to sag more, an environment for continued mold growth, and unsafe living conditions for my family. orkin was called in take care of a problem I had with mice getting in under the kitchen sink. The guy came out and shoved some steal wool in a few places and left some traps. Still more mice came in and a few more were trapped. it turned out that he had left a gaping hole uncovered and two of the traps were not even baited. I called in someone else and the job was taken care of properly with no more mice able to get in. Orkin was very disappointing. read more

We paid for a whole home remediation plan that included a series of sprays, hole filling, and pest control attic insulation. our home has benefited from new insulation as far as energy efficiency albeit for a much higher price than a regular insulation install. Within a few days we had wasps entering our home and several holes were left unpatched leading to rodents entering my home. we have bats entering our attic and we are still finding mouse droppings. The technicians also left insulation mess after assuring us they would clean everything. We have had orkin come out on 3 separate occasions from March through June and still continue to have pest and insect problems that ive had to remedy myself. Overall, i paid for a whole pest remediation and ended up with overprice, sub-par attic insulation. read more

Some of the guys that come out are pretty nice which is why I gave 2 stars. They schedule appointments according to their schedule not yours so will always have to call them back if you want the inside treated. If you have a mouse or mice problem you may as well handle it yourself because all they do is set down glue boxes and if anything gets in it you disposed of it yourself or the next time they come they will put another glue box right on top of the old one. I've still seen live bugs after treatment. Also, I scheduled for them to come spray inside, took off from work, and they were a no show. Waste of money. Go to tractor supply and get a bottle of talc star and diy and set sticky boards down for mice. read more

We used Orkin for mosquito spraying WORST decision we made. We spent $79.00 for six months, didn't even get the last month of our package yet we were charged anyways. Requested a different tech to spray our yard as the first tech barely sprayed the yard, they continued to send the same tech. We had a mosquito infested yard all summer. They say they money back if you aren't happy yet we got nothing back. The manager never responds to emails or calls. THE WORST costumer service. I give 2 stars because for the 1st 5yrs while Pavel sprayed my home it was a great and thorough experience. I felt like I was getting my money's worth. He was friendly, thorough in his work, motivated to help solve the silverfish and earwig issue. He went above and beyond. Well, in 2023 he was promoted and he was no longer my tech. I was extremely bummed! His promotion is well deserved and I am happy for him. The level of service I have received since June of 2023 has been way less than stellar. Six different technicians that I have to re-explain the backstory of the bug issue. One of the techs didn't show up and no one called me to say what happened or reschedule. Another tech just casually walked through and just did a half-ass spray and left. Now this year, I have had 2 different technicians once again. I have to re-tell the story. First one seemed to care and said he would come back in 2wks and check on me. He never showed up or called. Great integrity! The 2nd one listened, didnt ask anything and walked around and sprayed and left. Didnt change one sticky trap. For $94 a visit and the circus I have had to endure, I think its time for a different company. I do not recommend this company. Extremely unhappy with their level of service. I called because the house I moved into has carpenter ants. The guy came out, roamed around my house. He said he was gonna "spray outside" was out there for 5 minutes and went and sat in his truck for 20. I asked him where they were coming from or why I have them, he couldn't give me an answer. So I asked how long it will take them to go away, he said 7-10 days to set in. I gave him benefit of the doubt, now here I am wasted $330, have the same amount of ants as I did before. F*ck this company, Terminix is cheaper and actually works. Will be demanding someone come out again tomorrow and requesting a service rep who actually knows what he's doing. read more

I called orkin one time several years ago for an insect issue, the employee showed up and said that he wasn't going to spray for the insects due to a storm coming in and that it would wash the spray away...fair enough I guess. He told me that someone from Orkin would be in contact with me to reschedule, never got a call from anyone, I ended up going with a different company . I called Orkin approximately 4 years ago for a rodent issue, a time was scheduled however no one ever showed up. I went with another company I completed an online service request through the Orkin website, I missed a call shortly thereafter which appeared to have been Orkin however no voice-mail was left and nothing else from them sense. Ants...ants...ants... (ok they are the tiny ones but i'm still scared) I kept seeing these small ants you see outside on my kitchen counter even after i wiped and disinfected everything. Well talking the the Orkin representative - insect can stay dormant up to 10 months; i started noticing them after several days of heavy rain. So i requested service through online because i hate calling (laziness wins most of the time) Basically ants is something common in households - It's almost 5yrs since i owned my house and now i start to see them. So here's the breakdown (1 year contract): Initial payment $183.00 - but make sure you tell them it's too high and then i'll knock off $50. Bring the total down to $133.00. The treatment includes every other month - so now you have 5 more treatments remaining which also you'll have to pay $42. If you're still seeing ants, then they will come out and retreat anytime without a fee. Please note - treatment covers common ants, carpet ants, spiders, outside pest, and others. (That's a good thing) Also after treatment - DO NOT SPRAY ANYMORE PEST PRODUCTS. The pest guy was very nice and ensured me he'll make sure to cover all the areas on all the floors; it only took about 30 mins for everything. Hopefully this helps someone else out. read more

My first time using orkin and it was horrible. When I called to have a beehive inside my house removed, they failed to mention it would take up to 30 days! The guy that was sent out offered to remove the hive with a bee suit so I agreed and told him to bring it next week to which he said "orkin does have bee suits" ?? Why offer Then? After the first "treatment" I never heard from orkin again but not before they charged me $250 for absolutely nothing. I needed this hive removed immediately and that's what I thought was happening. When I contacted customer service they tried saying "you never contacted us to come back out?" No, I was told he was coming back weekly until it was removed. So I ended up removing it myself and orkin gave me $100 because of the confusion haha. Never again! Go somewhere else. read more

over the years Orkin has over charged me for services I have paid them to fix work that they have done incorrect, one time they put a vapor barrier right over top of one that they had laid down and put it right over top of stuff 'did not clean out".They took advantage of me because i lived out of State the house was a rental. Then they wanted to charge me money to fix it. I finally got tied of getting taken advantage of and got 2 other companies to give me estimates and they were half of what the Orkin estimate was .They estimates then come back with lower prices they are worse than a used car saleman . I i could of given them a minus 5 ratting i would of .The shame is had put up with this for over 25 years .Ended services after paying one month in getting no refund. My experience with Orkin has been terrible for the following reasons: 1.) When setting up my first appointment I was told that I would get special pricing for the 1st service. Initially the promotional pricing was not applied to my account and I had to call to fix and credit my account. 2.) I had a appointment scheduled and no one came out to my home. A couple weeks later a technician came out and I was not home. There was no communication that the appointment was being reschedule and I received a text message saying he only sprayed the exterior of my home since no one was there. I called a branch manager and told him about the situation. He agreed to have the technician come back to my home and spray the interior and said he'd credit my account $110 for the next service. The technician came out and spayed the interior; However, the credit was never applied to the next service. I called Orkin and they said the previous branch manager no longer works with the Company and he saw no notes of this ever being mentioned. The new branch manager said he'd talk to billing and have this fixed by the end of day; However, it has been over a week and I was never credited the amount charged. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Due to my irregular work schedule I have requested numerous times that Orkin call me when they plan to send a tech to my house. Also, on the agreed upon day, I would like to be called by the technician with an ETA. Orkin no longer provides either of these services. For the second time this year an Orkin tech arrived without notice while I was not available to provide access. I will not pay for this most recent visit. I may just cancel the service altogether. It seems clear to me that Orkin does not value their long time customers. EDIT: 21 AUG 18 I stand by most of that which I posted earlier. However, an Orkin manager, James, called me the next day and, offering no excuses, apologized for letting me down. I appreciated that. He went on to explain some scheduling options that had not been presented to me before. One such suits my work schedule just right. Last visit's bill was canceled and a revisit has been scheduled for this week on my terms. I take back what I stated about Orkin not valuing customers. It seems that they do. Had there service for 8 months. First few visits were fine. They spray a little and tell you it could take months to get rid of the problem. Okay... so where i live i dont have many options for exterminators so i was at their mercy. Then they started not giving any notice of when they were coming. I called and left messages no one would return calls. I told the tech to have a manager call me. No call from manager. They lied and said they notified me they were coming. I checked both text and emails. Nothing. Finally was able to get a hold of them and canceled my service. They didn't give me any issue canceling. However they never even cared to ask why I wanted to cancel. Just "okay" was their response. This company just wants your money and doesn't care one bit about customer satisfaction. We've been using Orkin for several years for household pest control (termites, mice, ants) and had been satisfied, but they just changed to a new scheduling system. Instead of coming on a predictable schedule (such as first Wednesdays, arriving between 2 and 4), they will come on random dates and times to suit their needs. The customer gets an email or text a few days before with the date and a second message the day before with the time. As the customer, it is then up to you to call each time to reschedule to a time that fits your schedule. Very customer-unfriendly. read more

If there was a way to give less than one star I would use ZERO stars. They have been at our house for two scheduled visits and one call back. Their customer service is clueless, they don't return calls and their tech that handles Livonia (Ed) is the worst. He gave us a hard time during a call back as we were told to if our carpenter ants return before the next spraying and then got in my face during the net scheduled visit. Called their office, left a message for their mgr to call me to tell him we wanted to continue service but he was not welcome in our house ever again. They never even called me back on the issue. Of course they called about their payment, told them again of the issue and a full week later still have not heard back. What losers!! And of course we still have ants and bugs. read more

A little over a year ago we noticed a mouse problem in the basement and hired Orkin to fix it. They filled the weep holes on the outside brick walls and sealed the gaps and capped the vents on the roof. After they left, we noticed they missed a couple of the weep holes and called to notify them. Their response made us feel that they were doing us a favor, and it took them over a week to come back and rectify a rather simple problem. As the mouse problem showed up again a month or so ago, we didn't want to bring Orkin back in and subject ourselves to their sales pitch. Instead we found a local company which pinpointed the obvious problem in their first visit that Orkin missed: the holes and gaps in the outside foundation around the house. If I could put zero stars I would. WORST SERVICE EVER. We called them to come spray our house cause we have spiders showing up. They sent someone that looked 14 years old. He took almost 20 minutes to shake up the spray, sprayed in the house only in certain little spots of each room. Not even on the Windows. Then was outside spraying for less than 2 minutes. No joke. And our house is going to take longer than 2 minutes to spray the outside good you know. Then it takes him another 20 minutes to write up our receipt. So he comes to give me the receipt and I'm like hey there's a spider in here please kill it(smaller spider) and he jumps and gets all freaked out and then sprays it to death with my personal spider killer. Then the next 5 days we see spiders in our house every day. One day had three spiders! Then we call them back and tell them and they say ok we will come out Thursday between 8am and 10am. So we take off work and wait... 10:20am and still nothing so we call and the lady that setup the appointment said their system was down and would have to call us back about where the guy was at. She calls us back and says oh no I told you next Thursday. Between 8am and 11am. Worst services ever. I will just spray my own damn house instead of wasting $200 for them to do nothing. read more

I have been receiving their services for bedbugs for three months now. The exterminator always claims to not be able to find them, though we get fresh bites daily, and have a bug in a ziploc bag. They came late to the second treatment and were not even going to come to the third. The problem spread to one of our vehicles and they are not willing to help with it even though if they had done their job it would not have been possible. The exterminator tells us he will come out in 'two weeks' or call us on Monday or call you back in a half an hour, but he never gets back to you, you have to call them to get the partial service we are receiving. Bedbugs shut down your social life and leave your arms covered in ugly red welts, go with a company that will solve your problem efficiently. read more

I had used this Orkin branch for 5 years.  I had mice and they sent an inspector whose only recommendation was a special insulation in the attic which he sold.  I had to hire a different company who came out, identified entry areas, sealed the open spots and put up bait stations.  When I returned to Orkin after less than 6 months, they increased my monthly rate.  Then they agreed to restart the service without the startup fee.  But when the man came out, I signed the form thinking the arrangement was kept.  To my surprise they charged me the $243 start up fee.  But I signed the form so there was nothing I could do.  I most definitely think I was tricked.  I immediately cancelled both my homes using this service.  No way will I ever use this company again.  Cant handle mice, terrible office staff.  Do not use! read more

I will never use this company again. Called in June because we had ants--first time we have ever had them. They were everywhere. Told us they would come out and spray, we could cancel anytime. They sprayed. Waited a week or so, still saw ants in the house. Called them and they set up an appt. on July 3rd. Waited for them to arrive in the allotted time frame. An hour after the appt. time, I called the office. They told me the driver probably was on the road and was not allowed to use the phone while driving. I mentioned that if he was going to be late, should call (could pull off the road if against company policy to talk and drive). Telephone person said she would contact him and get back with me. Another hour or so went by and then she called and said he was not going to keep the appt. and we could reschedule. I tried to explain that I had made myself available that day and it was not convenient to reschedule, also that I still had ants. No sympathy regarding my inconvenience. They came the following week and sprayed. I tried to cancel as I was told that I could do, however, I was informed that I was locked in for a year, then I could cancel. They set up an appt. for August. Had the same experience that I had in July. Driver was a no show. Called office and said this was going to count as one of my required appts. but that I was not going to pay for it. They then just scheduled appts. without my permission. A technician showed up at my door at 8:30 am to spray. I had not scheduled an appt. Sent him on his way. They scheduled another appt. in October without my input. This time I met the technician, had him spray and paid. We discussed that I had 1 required appt. left and he suggested that he return in the Spring. Yesterday I got a phone call stating they would be in the area Saturday, December 18 and would be stopping at my home to spray. I have no bugs to spray for. I called the office today and told them not to come and that I only had 1 required appt. left. I was told "Read your contract" (which I had tried to cancel the first month). She said that I was required to let them spray every other month until June 2016. I asked what they would be spraying for since I do not have any buys this time of year. No answer to that question, just a comment to read my contract and realize that I had to let them come every other month until June and they had no knowledge of my attempt to cancel the prior June. Called into the call center and have had messages sent over to my local branch to call me and set up an inspection a total of 3 times. The first time, no call back. Second time calling into the call center a whole week later (I figured the branch was just busy and allowed time for catch-up), I was assured I would get a call from the service manager in the morning. I have been waiting all day for a call. No missed calls, no voicemails left. Called into the call center once again for the third time and expressed my concerns only to be told to call when the branch is open so my call can be directly transferred to them. I asked when the branch opened, and the representative didn't know! Very poor customer service. My place of employment uses Orkin and has had no problems at all, so I wanted to continue my loyalty with them. Coming from a retail store background, communication is everything and it's one of the fundamentals to customer retention. Pest control is a serious business and in some instances, could be medically life-threatening; I am in shock how a customer who has reached out with a need to eliminate and control a pest (several times!) is being brushed aside! I would really appreciate corporate contact so I can take the necessary steps to report whomever is responsible for making these follow up calls as well as the service manager for the lack of communication and follow up. I will not hesitate to report this situation to my place of employment and have them terminate our contract. read more

Zero stars...they do not do what they say they will do with their guarantee...TOTAL LIARS. I started service for $178 and then $78 every other month (but they will come out whenever you call...so they say) and the guy that came out did his thing and came back again 2 months later. I called Orkin internet service number to schedule a visit because we still had ant, spiders, beetles...I mean a lot of stuff and with Orkin we shouldn't have had what we had after a couple services and the biggest issue for me is I requested a different technician to assess the situation and spray to see if we get different results. Not an unreasonable request so I thought. But oh no they have to do a full investigation, etc. etc. blah blah blah and the male phone attendant (wish I caught his name) was rude and had zero customer service so I hung up called another number and cancelled the service. Do not waste your money and more importantly your time and frustration. They also send someone else out and act like it's a free service but really its a solicitation of other work they can offer...including cabinets??? really. Worst experience ever! I called the main line to set up an appointment for "Chris" to come and check my home for bedbugs. I set the appointment up for the 10:00 to 12:00 window, but had to call back immediately to change the time to the 12:00-2:00 window. I received a voicemail at 11:14 am saying that he was at my home to do the inspection. When I got out of my meeting, I called him back and he said that he could not come back because he was on his way to Findley Ohio and it would have to be next week sometime. I explained to him that I had changed the time with the main line, and he said that he had a break in time so he came by early. I told him that I was upset that he did not come at the time I requested and he said that If I wasn't seeing any active bedbugs, I probably didn't have them and he couldn't tell me how many houses that he goes to that they THINK they have them. I told him that I still wanted my house inspected because something was biting me and just because I did not see them, I wanted him to check out my son's room and my remaining 3 bedrooms. He said it would be a waste of time for him and the treatment to treat would be at least 1,700. to treat a house my size and I probably did not need it.
