Their receptionist is very rude. I called to tell her I didn't receive a call from them. She argue me up and down that I did in a very disrespectful. A matter of fact attitude have complained about this particular receptionist nothing has ever done so I guess Orkin condone this kind of treatment to the customers. All I ask is for a 24 hour notification before somebody just show up to your home. Don't call for bat removal. I was informed that it would take $17x to resolve my bat issue. They kept calling and I finally had to ask them to stop calling. If you have a bat issue, Call Matt and Carla with Animal Damage Control. They are located in St Joseph Il and they are a great, prompt company to deal with. If you're looking for honest, humble, fair-priced service to remove a bat from your home in Champaign, IL, Orkin is NOT the business to utilize. I requested a rep come out to investigate the noise in my attic and he informed me I had bat(s). He reassured me it was not an infestation. I was not surprised by this response because I had seen them coming in and out of my garage. Since they are an endangered species, you must have a specific license to deal with them. I understand this, but their pricing to remove the bat with a one-way cone ($750), remove old insulation, clean/sanitize, and put new insulation in (about $9,250) seems ridiculously overpriced for this service. Since there are only two services in Champaign that provide this service, of course they can charge an OUTRAGEOUS amount for this service. I was also EXTREMELY uncomfortable and unimpressed with the service rep. He was arrogant, "jokingly" told me I called him fat, told me he doesn't talk about other companies but then continued to talk poorly about All Things Wild and Weldon Pest Control (who I had used and had an excellent service), boasted about how awesome he and his son were after showing me a picture of him when I didn't even ask, talked arrogantly in almost everything he said, and told me, "I know the holidays can be a difficult time for many, so out of the goodness of my heart, I give all of my customers a 10% discount this time of year." He had no awareness of social cues, and did not read my body language that I wanted him out of my home. I had to regularly interrupt him to keep him on track in communicating through the reason he was in my home - GETTING RID OF THE BAT(S). I am SO thankful I did not pay for this service and will definitely not be answering his call when he calls me in the spring to remove the bat. Since then, I have investigated how I can take care of this on my own, purchased a one-way bat cone on Amazon for $22 and my dad has offered to help me install it in the spring and then close up the area after the bat(s) leaves. I have also contacted corporate headquarters to provide this feedback to the Champaign office without any response. If anyone reads this from the Champaign office, please feel free to contact me. I am most definitely willing to provide this feedback to someone who would like to improve the business and customer service rep. read more

I made arrangements with the tech to have my house treated. He rescheduled twice and then was late. While processing our home here informed my husband that any intruding bugs who didn't physically wander across their treatment would not die. I had left a check for the agreed upon amount with my husband. 10 days later I got a bill for an additional $47. I was beyond words. I'm told that I owe the additional amount because it was an initial treatment, even though I was never told nor agreed to that amount. Hey, Orkin, that's called Bait and Switch. read more

The technician came for the quarterly inspection. He went down to the crawl space and told me I had mold and needed to be taking care immediately. I asked how much was going to cost. He told me $17000.00 dollars. I called my contractor . He brought a mold expert with him. The expert told me I had no mold issues and that Orkin had no license to be treating mold and that Orkin was ripping me off. I not longer have Orkin as my service provider. read more

too difficult to make an appointment with a robot. the choices to choose 1or 2 did not apply to me. and then you have to answer multiple questions with the robot. then the robot sends you a text you have to fill out. and still no one to talk to to schedule an appointment. still waiting for someone to call me to make an appointment. maybe maybe not. read more

I will always use Orkin as my service Clinton took the time to answer any questions and explain everything to you whatever problem that you had. Clinton is a great guy it shows with his personality that he cares about his customers if you're not happy he's not happy either. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND INEFFICIENT TREATMENT. Orkin has been treating our home for a flea infestation since February. It is now September. Every time they would spray the fleas would mostly die off but be back within a few weeks. We told them several times that the source was the crawl space but they never believed us. Finally, in June (4 months after the start of treatment) they sent an inspector to find the source. When I told the inspector I thought the fleas were coming from the crawl space he didn't even look in it. It took another month before a manager came out and found out that YES, the fleas were coming from the crawl space. They began to treat the crawl space but by that point it was too late. Our house, yard, and crawl space had become so infested that we couldn't even live in the house anymore and had to move out into temporary housing. My 9 month old son had fleas jumping on him to feed off of him it was so bad. In addition to not listening to us and allowing the problem to get out of control, they have not had good customer service. After waiting around at our house for 2 hour windows every week or two you would think that they could just schedule an actual appointment time for us. Nope. They still want us to wait around (outside, no less, because again, we can't be in the house) for two hours each time they come back. In July, my baby and I sat outside in my driveway for over two hours waiting for them and they never showed up. When I called I was told they had forgotten about the appointment and they didn't even apologize to me. The people that take calls in the main office are always short with me and I have to walk them through what they should be doing for us instead of the other way around. I will say that Tim, the branch manager, has done right by us to the best of his ability, but he is the only one and it is too little too late. At this point, I don't want to let them off the hook for the issue, but if I could go back in time I would NEVER use this company. Save yourself the time, money, and energy. read more
