We live in Winslow, ME and the office staff were very helpful in setting up service. The service manager spent time describing each service and giving us a recommendation on what services we should consider. Our concerns have been mice, ticks, spiders, mosquitos and ground wasps. We have both pets and children that we questioned the products that would be used in regard to toxicity. We are now receiving maintenance service every other month and seasonal tick/mosquito treatments. Would highly recommend. read more

I recently had the pleasure of working with Jeremy Paquin, he is a Technician that works out of the Bangor Maine Office. I cannot say enough positive things about this man. He took the time to answer all of my questions and was very knowledgeable in doing so. I have not been a customer, however after dealing with Jeremy not only will I be a forever customer I will let everyone I know how wonderful a company Orkin is. My only wish is that I could give him more than 5 stars. It is refreshing do deal with a company that has nice employee's as Orkin does. We live between a marsh and a small homestead and there has recently been lots of road construction. For the first time since the purchase of the house over 10 yrs. ago there started to be a bit of a rodent problem. So we called Orkin pest services. The advertisement states they will visit same day by noon and the price seemed right! My husband called Orkin on 7/1 to schedule an appointment, contract was emailed to us, pmt was made and appointment was scheduled for 7/3. We were happy!! Then my husband got a call from the tech stating he could be here on 7/2!! Wow that's even better right? We thought so too. Cameron showed up was polite, answered questions sprayed put down traps and left. We were told if we saw any more rodents before next scheduled visit to call and they will come back. We saw more activity so my husband called on 7/16 and scheduled another visit for 7/19. He immediately received a text stating he would receive a text the day before the scheduled date with a 2 hr service window. On 7/18 at 1:14 he received the text. Will be here next day between 12 and 2. Then again on 7/18 another text at 5:03 pm stating he would be here between 8am and 6 pm. On July 19th the waiting begins....in the meantime we were not contacted to have the monthly appointment scheduled. So my husband called to schedule for the monthly maintenance. Immediately after scheduling the monthly appt. He received another text stating they would be here on 7/19 between 4-6 pm. My husband is an elderly retired veteran. He had a medical appointment that he rescheduled in order to be home and wait for this paid for Orkin service to show up or communicate otherwise. Neither happened. So the day dragged on, my husband became more anxious, frustrated and depressed. This is what prompted him to call and schedule the monthly visit. It took several calls before anyone answered in the Portland branch then he was met with rudeness. And another text regarding this day's visit with new Information regarding a time. Its now Sunday. Still no word from anyone. No call no show!!! Seems to me that is a number one job requirement for any job. We paid for a professional service and no call no show from anyone in the organization is far from professional. read more

This company has given up. We have a tech who is a great guy and tries hard. Meanwhile there are schedulers somewhere else. Maybe on this planet, maybe not. But his schedule gets changed. In the meantime, all the mice looking for a winter home are falling all over each other trying to get in here. You don't have much longer before we call someone else. Our serviceman was Jared who was excellent. He treated the whole house, inside and out, to rid us of our carpenter ant problem, During his time here, he spotted some common small ants which we had not noticed and dealt with those too. He used a variety of chemicals and bait depending on the area being treated and identified the likely hidden area of the nest by the location of dead ants. He was knowledgeable and eager to answer my questions and left a phone number in case I had more questions. I would not hesitate to employ Orkin again should I have a future pest problem! read more

Made an appointment and they never showed up. No call no text nothing. Called them and the representatives said the service department had already closed, but someone would get back to me in the morning. They have no information. Couldn't even see who my technician was so they couldn't contact him. Very disappointed. I can't wait around all day to decide for you to do your job. read more

I've used Orkin for years, but the last two have been difficult. I'll get text messages that they are coming on a certain day, I take the day off to be here, then they don't show up. It's happened twice already this month. With the abundace of ticks and mosquitoes this spring, I was really counting on them, as the spray works very well. Just made one last attempt to schedule them for this Friday. If they don't show, I'll find a more reliable company. 3 strikes and they're out. read more

I STARTED A CONTRACT FOR EXTERMINATION SERVICES FOR MY SON'S HOME ( MILO, ME) I live in New Jersey. A technician was to start the service 07/16/2021. The tech never showed and inquiries have gone unresolved. When you call the ORKINS Bangor number the Orkin Corporate Customer service answers. They then attempt to call the Bangor location, no one answers. I have tried this three times. The Orkin Bangor manager is then left a message each time. NO RESPONSES. I tried contacting Bangor Orkin through Facebook messenger, NO messenger response. NO RESPONSES. Still a week later no one has come , no one has called. There are mice in the attic or perhaps squirrels. ORKIN sells rep adverted of immediate service, charged my credit card hundreds of dollars , scheduled an appointment for the next day , Immediate service is untrue. This is a mounting health and safety issue. Very disappointing. read more

Arriving on a Saturday recently at my Maine Home, which I pay regularly to have pest service by Bangor Orkin, I found my bedroom window infested with flying carpenter ants. I called Orkin immediately and set up a visit for MONDAY, following, knowing I couldn't get service until . . . I vacuumed them up and again on Sunday when they infested the same window. On Monday morning I couldn't stand it and - expecting Orkin that day - went out and purchased some bug killer and killed the latest and largest infestation I'd seen yet. Time came and went, No Orkin. No call. I called. "Very sorry very sorry I'll get someone to call before 5 and I'll register a complaint. And they'll call you to schedule immediately " No Call. Day ends. Tuesday. The bugs are still crawling out of the woodwork. No Call. I call again. " Very sorry Very sorry! I'll get someone ..." I'm on hold for 20 minutes until I hang up and call again getting another agent to - after another long interaction- admit that I'm not scheduled to be seen, nor can he get anyone to help me. It's Wednesday now as I write, I had to drive home to Vermont without satisfying the issue. The bugs are still there, who knows how many? Orkin never called me. They came for 1st appointment & to sign 5 month contract for Tick control. (May to September). Have repeatedly called about June appointment. Was told by Customer service that they weren't getting any response by (our local - though we are an hour away from it) Bangor, Maine office. They were suppose to be here Thursday (6/24) between 2-4PM and never showed or called. We have repeatedly called the Customer Service Number and keep getting told the local office is not answering phone - that all they can do is leave a message. They are now in breach of Contract! I wish we had read the reviews BEFORE we set up with them! I agree with other reviews! Feel like we through our money out the window - which we can't afford and TERRIBLE Customer Service!
