EDS came out right away to help fix a clogged main line from my septic when no other local plumbers would return my calls. They found and fixed the problem quickly and were reasonably priced. Anyone who has to stick their head down a septic to find the problem is worth the $$ in my book. read more

One of our drains was blocked, and a different plumber had been unable to clear it. Vern from Eastern Drain got here less than two hours after I called the company. He was polite, knowledgeable, efficient, and serious about his work. He persisted until the problem was resolved. I don't normally write reviews, but my experience was so unusual that I am compelled to share it. When I called to explain my drain problem, my impression of the company was of competency, reliability and professionalism. When Vern, punctually, showed up, I greeted him, offered a coffee (he said he shopped at the market on his way over) and I asked how he was going to lift the very heavy grate that covered the manhole without a machine. He said he was very strong and gave me examples of bigger and heavier grates he was used to lifting. He told me to go back in the house and that he would call me out when done. About 20 minutes later, my husband went out to check in and see how Vern was doing, but Vern was gone. Since they had been very specific about receiving payment on site, I called Vern, whose cell phone was now off, and then dialed the office to ask how much I owed. Derek answered the call, and said he would call Vern to ask why he, so unusually, had left without saying anything and without collecting payment. When I didn't receive a call back from Derek, I called again, also because I had checked the grate in the meantime, and noticed that it had not been moved at all. Derek answered and told me that Vern told him he had left because there was too much dirt in the manhole and he couldn't find the drain. He fed me the great news that they weren't going to charge me and suggested I find another company. I was confused because the manhole is not filled with sand and I now I had doubts that he even lifted the grate at all, and felt that, if that had been the case, a company as professional as that would have certainly called me out to show me the problem before driving away. A second call from Derek returned a new story entirely, which was that Vern had told me he didn't think he could unclog the drain and that he had done so before leaving. That was not true, and as I pressed for clarifications, I received a call from Vern (whose cell phone had been off earlier) very apologetic stating that he had injured his back while lifting the grate and had to leave abruptly. So I called Derek again who said that that it was all very strange to him and he didn't feel comfortable sending Vern or anyone else out in the future because the story didn't compute, implying that none of his employees should have to deal with me. I offered to have a three-way conversation with Vern to get the story straight, but Derek refused. Derek's suggestion that I was not being honest and that I should find another company, really shocked me and it made me start to wonder whether this company was even legit. At the end of a conversation that felt as if I were in the Twilight Zone even though the tone of it all was courteous, I asked Derek if I could speak to an owner, or supervisor and he said he was his own supervisor and the owner, Rob, would probably be too busy to call me, but might do so in a few weeks. I am not a poster child for morality but I am principled and honest, and I have always adhered to a strict code of ethics both as a customer and a business person--I do have a reputation to uphold. To be lied to, dismissed and then treated as if I were the offender with such blatant nonchalance was a test to my tolerance that I evidently have failed. I am not sure why I can't let this go and why it's so hard for me to let the Dereks and the Verns of the world get away with such unbecoming business practices, without even having the courtesy of fabricating more plausible excuses. Maybe Rob has no need for a good reputation, and my values are too old fashioned. I am saddened that companies like Easter Drain and Mold Remediation are this confident to treat customers poorly with no concern for a negative impact on their future revenue. read more

Steven was so responsive, helping to find a solution to a 6+ week plumbing problem that others took my money, were not helpful unless they had their hand- out for more money and no fix in sight! My little town is very proud of its elm trees -- but their roots are very invasive, and had clogged the French drains around my house to the point that my cellar was flooded. I called Eastern Drain and they told me when they would arrive, and their payment-at-time-of-service policy. The two young men arrived on time, oriented themselves with my drains, inserted a camera to show me the issue with the roots, and then got right to work. Two nicer young men you could not find: they were polite, efficient, careful not to tread water or debris on my floors (what did, unavoidably, get tracked was cleaned up & dried promptly). They showed me the tools & explained their process, giving me the giant, loofah-like root clog their razor-sharp tool had removed...nearly a foot long! This year, I have asked them to return (post-pandemic) to assure that my drains are root-free, and will make my experience a semi-annual routine. read more

Horrible! Do not use! Paranoid about payment to the extreme they want you to sign a promissary note or contract of some sort before they'll consider servicing your plumbing. We asked if we might drive to his location and pay in that manner he told us he told us to f...k off. Those were his words exactly and entirely uncalled for and unprofessional in the extreme. I cannot only imagine having such a person doing work in your house. read more
