We used them for an HOA we manage for fire watch. They were extremely responsive, able to start immediately, responded very well to feedback, the pricing is very fair, and the guards are very friendly. The guards on watch even assisted the homeowners when they needed help or helping with items outside their purview, something I have not seen from any other company. The reports for the fire watch were sent daily with great detail, including pictures. Would highly recommend them. read more

Orion Security provides security at my complex and they do such an incredible job! I've lived in multiple complexes around the Bay Area and Orions service is the best I've had so far! I've never had an issue with them, the security guards are always around and are very friendly, helpful and polite! A couple nights ago I had an issue with someone trespassing and the security did such an amazing job at helping me! There response times are always fast and the person I often speak to on the phone when I have questions or concerns , Teresa I believe was her name, provides excellent customer service and has answered any questions or concerns that I had! Overall the company is great! They provide incredible service and have always been there when I needed it! As with bringing up any new provider, there is an adjustment period, and communicating and setting expectations. Our account manager Teresa has been very responsive in answering questions and requests, as well as asking for feedback on how to better improve the level of service. Setting expectations is the most important criteria in receiving a positive level of service, and it's good that Orion is proactive in this area. Our community has an increased sense of security since our service started dealing with homeless and trespasser issues, and our guest parking compliance has also improved greatly. One star is a joke! ZERO stars!! I have lived in the same apartment complex here in Belmont for over 5 years. I was legitimately parked in my own parking space and Orion decided that I was parked in a construction zone. The fluorescent yellow signs posted everywhere say NO PARKING UNTIL AFTER 3/16/18. Today is 3/29/18 but they decide to call and have my car towed. They admitted to being stupid and wrong so they had to pay to get my car out. But, it did ruin my morning as I missed a half day of work. It is very common for these tow yards to give cash kickbacks for calling in a tow. Probably what happened here. read more

We've been hearing a lot of stomping at 10pm onwards from the apartment above us and we've been trying our best to be considerate at all times. Lately we can't really stand the loud conversation and stomping to a point where it will woke us up at 1-2am. As pe our Apartment, we have to call ORION SECURITY for any concern since the leasing office is only open until 5am Monday to Friday. We were able to call the Orion once and it was a smooth call, the operator was professional in handling our concern, and now that we experience twice this other operator seems to us she doesn't like her job. She's arguing with us and telling us to report it in leasing office even if we told her that we already mentioned it to them, it's just its late already and office is now closed. Why hire these kind of people? She even hang up on us!! -I wont reply a long comment to this. No wonder why you have bad reviews. From operator to whoever you are commenting here on my review. Kudos! Orion does security for our business park. Since we moved in we have had 4 break ins/thefts with 3 of them in the last month and a half. We had our propane cage broken into twice, a van ram into our warehouse door, and a brick thrown through our front office door and company laptops stolen. The incidents with both doors occurred in the middle of the afternoon on Saturdays and in one instance we were not told until Sunday and the other we didn't know about until we came into work Monday morning. We are told by our property management that they are making 4 passes around the property every day but us and the other tenants regularly go days without seeing them. Other neighbors have propane cages broken into as well as tens of thousands of dollars worth of inventory stolen. One tenant's brand new trucks had their gas tanks drilled into and gas siphoned. They resorted to having employees sleep out in their warehouse for days and recalled only seeing the security patrol once. There have been multiple complaints about the security that we are being charged for and the only things we ever get are notifications that pallets have been left outside warehouses which they send to property management to make it look like they are doing something. read more

I've lived in apartments in the Bay Area for almost ten years. We always cycled through security companies. I won't name all the companies I can't stand working with, because that's a little tacky. But I will say, that overall I think Orion is probably my favorite. Three apartment complexes that I've lived at have used Orion and I never had an issue with them. The guards were always polite. Even helping a single girl like me carry a 20 lbs tote of cat litter up to the second floor in the summer. I think the only time I can remember having an issue was when I was parked in the managers parking spot one night, after being given permission by the manager. The guard asked me to move my vehicle. I was pretty annoyed but I moved it. It was almost midnight so neither of us wanted to wake the manager up to confirm that I was okay parking there. The next day he was told by the manager to let me use the spot for a few days and he apologized and it never happened again. That was also his first day on patrol at that location so it was an easy mix up. Even then, they handled it pretty well. Every other time I've ever needed something or had concerns, their response time was always quick and they were always courteous. Last night they even came back after having just left my parking area, because I called in some suspicious guys walking around looking inside of cars. I mean, they're not driving dodge chargers or anything but somehow they managed to speed back and scare those guys off the property. It made me feel a lot better knowing they have the same sense of urgency when it really counts. The staff that answers the phones are always helpful and really do a great job of collecting information so they know exactly how to help me. Thanks Orion! I have the unfortunate opportunity to have this company patrol my area through an equally terrible HOA. My fiancé parked in the tenant parking for a bit over 48 hours and her car was towed. When we went to get the vehicle out of the tow yard, there was a tag on the window which read "exceeded 14 days, subject to immediate tow. V Doan". Another time my fiancé parked her brand new car (different than the one towed) for one night and the next morning there was a tag which read "exceeded 14 days, subject to immediate tow. V Doan". Luckily the neighborhood is in Palo Alto because if we really needed security patrolling the area, this company only zips through at 3am to issue false parking infractions. read more

No, no, no....and NO. We currently live at an apartment complex that contracts Orion Security (the Esplanade) and for the first year, they were great! We saw a patrol officer walking around, doing drive-by's, basically making their presence known at least every other hour. January 2016 is when everything changed. No more patrols. Period. They agreed to lock the pool at 10PM every night and that's no longer happening. As a result of this company NOT doing their job, our car gets broken into while on apartment property during the time that Orion Security is contracted to patrol. And the incident happened within 2 hours of the start of their shift. We live downtown at a pretty upscale apartment complex - I'm sure there are people always watching and waiting for the opportunity that Orion Security's lack of follow through has presented. We decided to stay out all night and we finally did see Orion Security...they were patrolling the newly acquired apartment complex across the street (Mio Apartments) and never even bothered to drive through the Esplanade. It seems Orion Security will provide you the best possible service...until they acquire a new contract. They are also extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional on the phone WHEN they finally do answer and IF you can speak to them long enough before they hang up the phone in your face. We are strongly considering moving if our apartment complex does not contract a different security vendor. Why pay for a service that isn't being rendered? read more

Technically this review is for 0 stars. I got a parking violation from them that stated I had been parked there for 3 days. I had only been parked there for 4 hours. I drive a gray Honda Civic (very common car) so I understand that it's easy to get it mixed up with other similar cars, but shouldn't they be taking plate numbers down as well? That's Security 101 right there. When I called their "customer service" line (which is clearly an oxymoron because they did not provide any service whatsoever) I was put on hold for 20 minutes, only to be told that they did not have the housing area's parking information on file so she couldn't help me. You would think that their main office should have that sort of information, but the representative was either untrained or simply refused to do so because she's terrible at her job. Clearly from top-to-bottom Orion Security Services has untrained employees that have no idea what their doing. This company is the textbook example of "the blind leading the blind." read more

I had a prowler in my backyard and called the police right away and they came out. The next day I called my HOA to inform them and ask about our security. They referred me to our HOA hired security Orion. I called Orion to let them know about the incident and ask about their patrols. The lady I spoke to didn't care about tne prowler she didn't ask anything about it. She then told me for their security she cannot tell me when they patrol our neighborhood. What about our security?? Hello!!I. I have never seen the security patrols, but I do know people they have given parking tickets to for not having parking permits. So I guess they are just parking enforcement and do nothing for resident security. Its a waste of HOA money. read more

Where I live was using Allied and we always had issues with people breaking in to cars and stealing stuff. I go out there and I could never find our guard and when I called their dispatch they were giving me runaround. Since the management hired Orion I actually see our guard and safety has improved and the tenants are very happy. read more

They were hired by the apartment complex I used to live at. I found them to be polite and professional with a good attitude, and I would stay up late on my balcony and watch them drive through the complex a few times at night checking the pool and the the doors and gates. I encountered the worst Customer Service experience tonight by this company. Whoever was working this night starting an overnight shift on October 28th is very unprofessional and should probably get an attitude check. I called to complain about an issue where I live involving a very loud noise complaint from the neighbors. This was my third call. The female before was a lot more helpful and not rude but the overnight female proceeded to hang up on me as she wasn't even the slightest concerned that I was upset about the loud noises because I have children in my home sleeping. I called back and no answer after a few calls. I am sure Ms. Attitude could see I was calling and refused to pick up. The noise complaint that lasted for 4 hours never ended and when I did see a security come by he was texting in front of their gate but never knocked on their door to tell them to lower it down. With loud music playing, alcohol and smoking involved he must have chickened out and just decided to do nothing. I have lived here for about 5 years and the "security" is not reliable, nor consistent and don't know why we have security if your services aren't being used what they are for, I remember my first year here security was on it but they sure have gone down hill. I made my first call with the intention it would get solved and I could get some sleep. I don't care if my neighbors were partying I simply wanted someone to just tell them to keep it down and its discouraging that no one took action. I don't like your services and have lost all respect. Next time I'll make sure to deal with an issue myself before I ever call you guys again. If you have had a good experience, lucky you! This security company is being used by Radius Apartments here in Redwood City for just a couple of months now and they do the job half the time and nothing at all the other half. There is one guy who shows up early and files his report and when you call later like we did last night at Midnight to get the loud talking group cleared out the dispatcher tells us he was there and filed a report which is absolutely bull crap. This has happened almost every time this one guy is on duty. I have my doubts about the ability of this security company to handle any situation that requires dealing with people, especially this one guy who is filing false reports if you ask me. I will say there is one gal who does a great job when she handles the calls here but she needs to be here more than this other guy. Tonite (02/25/16) an Orion Security patrol car stopped in front of my house and began writing the car license of my tenant who resides in my home. When she asked the person in the patrol car why he was writing down her license number he said, "he was patrolling our complex!" We are in a private home location. We do not have a Home Owner's Association. We are not a townhouse or condo complex. We are individual homes. We telephoned the Daly City Police Dept. who said they would try to locate this vehicle and find out what they were doing in our area. I telephoned the Orion office in San Jose and reached an extremely rude woman who wouldn't sa y athing. She said the patrol should have been in the Crestview Heights section of Daly City. We are the upper Westlake/Palisades. Be on the look out for a white vehicle with the name Orion Security if you are in my area. They do not have any business here. I will be calling back in the morning to someone named Robert who is the manager of that office. read more
