This is a landmark.The original location that opened many years ago was in the Heart of Los Angeles,Rampart and Beverly.This was the spot to go to after a long night of dancing.Still to this day they have been consist in their quality and standards of their product. Omgoshh!!!! What a treat!!! Stopped in Barstow before heading home for some junk food. Ordered: chili cheese fries with onion. So bomb!!! The chili is so good, but you know its so bad for you. we had to rent a car and drive home after our flight cancelled on a busy March Madness/Spring Break weekend with no available flights. THIS was the only saving grace of the road trip home. Tommy's must market subconciously one the long road between Vegas and Barstow. i swear i wasn't even thinking of getting a chili burger. not until we stopped at our gas station in Barstow to use the head. i was staring at the gas station ready serve burgers and just started salivating at the thought of a chili burger. then, BOOM! my buddy comes up with the greatest idea, "wanna get some Tommy's". um, EFF yeah mo 'fo!!! plenty of parking available. but, still quiet inside. burger came out quick. and it was only $3. are you kidding me? that was for a DOUBLE too! man, very filling. i dont' remember the last time i had such a foodgasm for a burger. i savored each bite. damn, that was so good. so good, so good. it was just amazing and totally hit the spot. although we don't normally come by here on the ride TO vegas (since we're not too hungry for chili burgers at 4am), i'll be trying it again next time we drive home. hopefully, it'll be by choice next time. read more

I have to admit, I am a HUGE fan of Tommy's. The love affair goes all the way back to when I was in college and we would drive to the original Tommy's off of Beverly and Rampart to get a Tommy's fix. This Tommy's is one of the bigger Tommy's I have been in. It might be because it is in that restaurant row area of Barstow, by the outlet stores, which gets a ton of traffic. If you have never been to Tommy's, you need to know it all revolves around the chili. It is a 5 alarm heartburn maker and I love every bit of it. My favorite is the chili fries with a chili dog. Be sure to order it with extra chili up front as the extra chili is free as long as you order it when you place your order. Go back for more afterwords, and they charge you. Make sure you take plenty of paper towels from the dispensers on the wall as you will need them. Also, don't spill the chili on your clothes as it stains and is a bear to get out. It is an extremely rare event for me not to finish a burger or even a sandwich that thinks like a burger. Sadly, the last chili cheeseburger at Tommy's was completely unedible. Lots of folks put "Ray's" in the name of their pizzerias in NY, lots of folks put "Tommy's" or some variation of it, in the name of their burger joints in SoCal. You know I'm writing this review with regret with Tommy's service i experienced tonight. Me and my boyfriend always come here when we're passing through on our way to Vegas. Food is always so fresh, hot, and excellent taste. However, tonight we went during night shift instead of day shift and the taste was completely different. Nothing was fresh, chili was not hot, cheese was not melted on burgers or tamale. My boyfriend asked for a cook egg on his chili burger and they only threw on the yolk of the egg on his burger ( not even the full egg). The guy that took our order acted like he couldn't take a simple order. This is nothing against the Tommy's establishment, because during the day obviously it's a very much different experience. But I would suggest management looks into their night staff preparation of food. Because this is the first time I have ever and I mean EVER had a bad experience at Tommy's. Horrible service! Not only was the manager in a hurry to take your order, she gets it's wrong then gets upset when her employees get it wrong. So she comes to the counter and tells her employees " what you guys are lost" because another customers order was missing. I tell her my order was wrong and she proceeds to ask me "you want me to fix it?" I said yes and she made my burger in the worst possible way!! She put SO much chilly you could not tell what it was. I again asked her to fix it and she had the worst attitude, so all she did was change the wrapper and gave me the same one. Oh! By the way the reason she was in a hurry and with a bad attitude was because her and another employee were eating their lunch in the kitchen!!! In plain sight of customers!! I'm so happy that they have this location. It's perfect place to go to on your way to Vegas. I've been to several Tommy's and this location is definitely one of the cleanest and nicest. I always order a Chili cheesburger with Chilcheese fries, Chilicheese on the side, so my fries won't get soggy. They put a generous amout of chili on your burgers so you really don't need to order chili fries if your not a chili person. Me and my hubby usually share a the chilicheese fries. Stopped by this Tommy's on the drive back from California. It's conveniently located off of Interstate 15 in Barstow near the outlet stores. Whenever I drive to/from California I try to stop by places that are either not found in Las Vegas or has a small Las Vegas presence. Tommy's is one of those places. I ordered a Double Cheeseburger and Fries. After a short wait my food was ready. The Burger had the signature Tommy's Chili oozing off the edges....yum! I took one bite and the familiar taste of Tommy's was there. The Cheesy, greasy, gooey Burger was devoured within minutes. Very sloppy, very messy, but definitely hit the spot. I came here expecting nothing less than greasy and messy food. That's exactly what I got. My boyfriend ordered a burger and chili fries and I ordered a hotdog and regular fries because I didn't want to pay the extra buck fifty to make it chili fries. There wasn't any need too anyway, there was way more than enough chili on the chili fries and hotdog, so I just dipped my plain fries in that. I don't eat like this on a regular basis, so this was a pretty nice treat. I couldn't eat that much of it though since I felt like I was clogging my arteries, but the small portion that I did have was good. I only ate half of my hotdog, but I finished all of my fries.
