Update: the staff just sent me a private message calling me a liar, and saying they don't believe I have an allergy, and was just trying to get a free meal. Maybe you don't add any dairy products yourself (which frankly I'm not sure is true) but cheap ingredients often may have cross-contamination. This is information written on the ingredients labels when you buy them and should be checked on an ingredient by ingredient basis so you can tell customers who have LIFE THREATENING ALLERGIES that there's a risk of contamination if you haven't checked and aren't ABSOLUTELY SURE it's safe. We got pad Thai and crab Rangoon's. They told us they didn't have shrimp, which was fine, but was kind of inconvenient. When I took a bite of the noodles, I asked my husband if I had COVID or if it was just extremely bland. He said it was super bland. No flavor. Just slimey noodles with chunks of salty egg every once in a while. Not great. Crab Rangoons were the wonton type, not the type I was expecting. They were also pretty flavorless, but I love cream cheese so they were still decent. I liked that it came with sweet and sour sauce but it was really runny. Overall not a good experience but there was so much on the menu that looked delicious so I hope I just had a bad experience. Came in on 5/31/22. Started with pretty bad customer service. Wasn't allowed to substitute fried rice for jasmine rice. Offered to pay extra multiple times. No! The simple thought of this place alone sends shivers down my spine and my gag reflex goes off in a natural instinct. My wife and I ordered the orange chicken, Thai fried rice, and pad Thai. Everything was decent for a place in Idaho but not worth the return yet the orange chicken was volatile. It was over-fried leaving a sticky yet hard crunchy exterior and a rubbery chewy interior. It was so sticky that you had to literally use both hands to rip it from the container that it came in (we ordered to go) even though the whole container was saturated in a filmy orange grease. The taste was of greasy burnt oil and sugar. We both got very sick afterward and have made a pact since to never return nor speak of that chicken again. read more

So, this place seems cool for most people, though, if you have a food allergy or are Vegetarian/Vegan they seem to discriminate a bit in my opinion. The lunch menu says "please no substitutions" which the owner takes as absolutely zero changes, not just substitutions. Perhaps our Englishes are different, but either way I do not like being charged $1.70 extra for asking for no egg and no chicken on the spicy fried rice. This makes me feel like because of my beliefs reguarding food, I am treated differently. I recommend going to Fong's which is a few doors down with a similar menu. Family stopped in for the first time. I was unimpressed with the poor service. We ordered the Drunken Noodles for the kids 0 stars and it came back very spicy. He took the order back and said no charge, but would not make a new one. Our waiter then made a remark in Thai and kept arguing with us. I absolutely love this food! My favorite dish is the drunken noodles and it never fails to be so good that i need to lick my plate clean. The Thai soups that are available are absolutely delicious too. The gentleman who runs the store isn't mean, but he is short and too the point, which might come off mean at first, but as a regular customer you learn that's just how he is. This place can be hit or miss which is always frustrating when my husband seems to always get a hit when we go and I get a miss! The curry's are always delicious, but the soups can be pretty off putting, especially the Tum Yum. It's pricey, but it's worth it. This place is ok. Coming from cali, I have had a lot of thai food and this place is not, great but ok. The food is decent. a little over price because of the small portions. Some dishes (like the curry and noodle soup) was very plain. Lighting is bad(we basically at in the dark). customer service is bad (i know he speaks a different language but so do I and you can at least pretend to be nice to your customers). Overall, I think if this restaurant can fix some of their bad habits, they might actually be a decent restaurant here. Until then, I'm probably never going back. read more

This place is a major hole in the wall. It's dark and quiet. The service is pretty good. I wasn't crazy about the Curry but I'm a big fan of the Pad Thai. This place is unimpressive looking from the street; however, it's worth a trip inside. This is one of the best kept food secrets in Rexburg. There are many good menu choices. If you are a Thai food rookie, the Pad Thai is a good entry level dish. My favorite is the Drunken Noodles. It's good with chicken or beef, but try it with fried tofu for a more unique experience. The summer rolls and satay chicken are nice appetizers, especially with the peanut sauce. The curry dishes and the sweet and sour are all really good choices. This used to be the best Thai in the area, but the more upscale Teton Thai (Driggs) has now surpassed it. Plus, it has a bit of a "divey" feel. That's why Original Thai is such an exceptional find. The food is likely the most authentic ethnic food available in the area. My friends and I ordered different curry dishes and a plate of Pad Thai. All were excellent. I took a lunch menu with me when we left. Price range for lunches are typically $7.00 to $8.00. We averaged about $15.00 each for dinner, including the shared appetizer and desert. Fun find, and I would definitely go back. read more

I know this is a college town, and the food is college priced. But I didn't expect frozen vegetables in my curry. You can't afford fresh vegetable and then chop them up? Really?! The coconut soup was a BIG disappointment; we didn't even finish it. The pad thai was serviceable, but honestly, there was nothing outstanding about this place. To top it all off, the waiter was exceptionally terse, short, and borderline rude. Options are limited in Rexburg, but if you really want some Thai food, I would drive or take the bus to Idaho Falls (or anywhere else for that matter!) before I went here. It's a shame. I would have given at least 2 stars but the interaction with the waiter was so bad that I couldn't give the extra star.
