Love the pizza but hate the parking. I order here some nights when I'm bowling at Wynnewood lanes, the pizza is solid. Small ham pizza, well done is my goto. Parking is so tough at this spot I normally park at the bowling alley and walk over, although I have on occasion uses the septa lot across the street. The Stromboli is solid here too, as are the club sandwiches. Eagle has been one of our favorite neighborhood places for steak sandwiches & Italian hoagies (both the regular Italian & the 9th St. w/sharp provolone) for a long time. They also make a really good "Down Under" pizza (cheese on bottom, sauce on top). My new favorite (ordered jus for myself the last time), is their pizza steak, delectable; yummy, stretchy cheesy, tomato-ey goodness on a crusty roll. I really love ordering this, b/c I don't have to give instructions like I do w/ my regular cheesesteak, specifying the type of cheese & how I want the onions done. NO need with a pizza steak, I like it as is; simple & easy. Sure I could've written this review a while ago but felt compelled to write it now, the timing's just right. They deserve accolades for making a great sandwich. The pizza steak was sooo good this last time, it inspired me. All of the employees are reeeally nice & they take great care(s) to ensure you receive everything just right. We're sooo happy to be in their delivery range. We ordered pizza for our dine in date night and we blown away by original eagle pizza. We got a large veggie pizza and it was LOADED with veggies. Broccoli, tomatoes, spinach, mushroom, peppers, black olives (no onions on request) were plentiful. The really stand out feature was the structural integrity of the crust. I normally go for puffy crust but original eagle may have changed my position. Despite the whopping amount of toppings, the pizza stayed together for surprisingly clean dining experience. I mean, yeah, it's pizza, but our experience was underwhelming. We got a large with sausage and mushrooms. The sausage was thin slices, akin to pepperoni, and the mushrooms lacked flavor. Our biggest disappointment though was with the crust.. it tasted like a frozen bread dough crust from a skating rink from the '80s. Entirely too bland for a pizza. If that's your thing, go for it. But with so many other pizza places nearby, I doubt we'll order pizza from here again. We'll give them another shot for the hoagies since other reviews have said they're good too. Vegetarians DO NOT READ! I was in the mood for a vegetarian's nightmare. The carnivore in me was craving a Meat Lover's Stromboli (Meatball, Sausage, Ham, Bacon & Pepperoni, $10.50). One whiff and my cholesterol went up twenty points! * It looked great. Nicely browned. The Bad- * The dough was very thin and was lacking in taste. * Ditto for the sauce. Below average. The Ugly- * When I have sausage in a Stromboli I expect slices of the same Italian sausage I would get if I ordered a sausage & peppers sandwich. Instead I received this weird stuff that looked like slices of a hot dog! It may be sausage in name only but it had no business in a decent Stromboli. The theme song for The Good the Bad & the Ugly made it to #2 on the Billboard Charts in 1968. On my chart of decent pizza joints these guys get two stars. read more

We've ordered delivery twice recently and found the food to be above average. The first order included a delicious small white pizza with plenty of garlic and a crispy crust. I also ordered a chicken quesadilla that was equally good. Suzy ordered a steak sandwich and a small pizza but asked for a very light cheese and also enjoyed by her. The second time we ordered I ordered a steak sandwich that was good but nothing to rave about. Ordered a white pizza again and could tell the pizza person was not the same who made my first one. The pizza seemed like it sat a while before being delivered as it seemed moist and not as much garlic, which afterall one of the main reasons I like white pizzas. Suzy's steak sandwich was not to her liking. We will try again but the next time will determine if we found our pizza and steak sandwich go to or.look for something else. Stay posted. Had my first experience here and must say it is awesome. They can make a mean hoagie. There is no space to sit inside and eat so you'll have to go take out. Ended up getting a large 18inch down under pie which is basically a red top. It was excellent. Loaded with sauce on top speckled with parm cheese. Flavorful sweet garlicky sauce. The crust was super thin and flaky at the ends almost like a flat bred which worked really well with the pie. For $14 this was really reasonably priced. We also got two cold hoagies. The 9th street italian was the meatiest hoagie I've eaten that containing prosciutto. Normally it is a thin amount and the meat is meager but not so on this one. This sandwich was filling. The provalone on the sandwich was super sharp. Kudos to the cheese brand selection. Also when I walked in I saw they use Licios rolls which are top of the line. The original eagle hoagie with roast beef and turkey is an awesome combo with slaw and special sauce. read more

I know that steak sandwiches are by definition well done. But it almost seemed as though they cooked a whole bunch of meat in advance of the lunch rush & just had it sitting around. Tried Original Eagle Pizza for the first tome tonight. We wanted to get a calzone this evening for dinner and we're surprised to find the local pizza shops we order from don't have calzones. On a Yelp search we found Original Eagle Pizza. We were not disappointed! Great calzone! Perfectly prepared and cooked. Great crust and the right amount of ingredients. And the Greek salads are phenomenal as well. We also loved their Baklava. We will definitely order from here again. Highly recommend. read more

This week, we tried Eagle Pizza on Haverford Road. Pizza was standard Greek- style pizza. It was a decent pie, nothing out of the ordinary. The amount of pepperoni was decent. The "Down Under" pizza was above average- cheese/garlic on bottom with a nice flavored sauce on top. The wings- 12 in an order were good. The "hot wings" were a good size seasoned in sauce (4/10) Bad: parking is a bit of a problem. They have a $30 free coke promotion (which I was unaware) and my bill was $29.42- I paid. A few minutes later ended up paying $2.75 for a 2 liter coke. I believe the girl should have addressed this at register. read more

This is our local pizza takeout spot. The owner is always in there working the phones and talking with customers - super nice guy. We always call in when ordering because depending on your order size he will often throw in a 2-liter for free. Our staple order is an XL upsidedown pizza. If you haven't had theirs, do yourself a favor and order it. My wife and I are on opposite ends of the pizza spectrum, she hates peppers and onions, likes sausage or hamburger with mushroom and I can't stand fungus and adore peppers and onion. We prefer hamburger at Eagle because their sausage is coin cut - not crumbles. The toppings were a little light on the last order we got here but it depends on whos making the pie so I'm not docking them for that but it is a little disappointing when you pay extra for toppings on an XL pizza and you maybe get a handful of each topping. The broccoli cheese bites are amazing, the fries are really good but only if you are waiting at Eagle for the second they come out of the frier then race home and enjoy them or eat them in the car on the way home and tell your kids they didn't have any fries. - oops. read more

After departing South Philly - where great steaks and decent pizza shops could be hit by a blind bastard throwing stones - I spent a good year searching my suburban woods (them of Wynne) for something approximating "not bad", but more often than not, settling for "eh". But let it be known - Original Eagle Pizza is the area's diamond amongst many "roughs" / hell, I'll even through down the gauntlet and deem their "Pepperoni Heaven" pie the best meat pie in the region. Been a local fan for over 10 years, but recently I was disappointed - but in 10 years that's a lot of good, well prepared, good tasting, fair priced, fill-my-belly food! My one bad experience - ordered Stromboli just cheese and sauce - they offered choices of toppings (they thought is was odd to not have other stuff in it) I told them no I just want cheese and sauce. When got home it was gross, for me uneatable! They added raw onion to the sauce - it was overpowering - i spent 6 or 7 minutes picking it all out then re-heated it. it was better but that flavor still permeated everything, pissed-off, why would they assume everyone likes ONION? On my next visit I asked when some one asks for just cheese and sauce why did you add all that onion? they said, "oh thats how we do it. WHAT? what if a costumer doesn't like onion? They said oh you could just tell us - but if I don't know you're doing it how could I tell you not too? Why would you assume everyone likes onion? Some times owners can be so dumb. Oh and for god sake fix your stupid pizza size options. humm lets see there's Small (ok) and then there's Large (ok) so if I want the biggest pizza they make I say Large right? Nope I have to say Extra Large (what?) Do you actually not understand your "large" is then actually a Medium Remember English class: Big bigger biggest, good better best, small smaller smallest, great greater greatest and then of course Small Medium Large? But Noooo you're trying to reinvent the wheel with: Small Large xLarge - Its just dumb ok done ranting - here's What we love - xLarge flat crust veggie pizza (ask for a little extra sauce). I've always gotten great customer service and delicious pizzas from Eagle. Even though I've moved out of the area, when I come back to visit friends and family, I insist on ordering their speciality pizzas and I'm always happy to pick it up. The staff has always been very kind and personable, going as far as offering paper plates and napkins and finding points of mutual interest outside of delicious food.
