My wife and I were not disappointed! Not only do they house hundreds -- if not thousands -- of beautiful rugs, they have INCREDIBLE people working there. We worked most directly with Ahmet and he is such a great person! He showed us so many rugs, which is a lot of time and effort, without batting an eye. He was patient and encouraged us to take our time. He knew the inventory inside and out; where the rugs originated, what they were made from, how they were made, etc. Finally, after a couple visits, we purchased two rugs - dining room and living room rugs. I'd have to say that our favorite part was eating flat bread with Ahmet. We are grateful he wanted to share with us. We did not take that gesture for granted! On top of all that, we recently discovered our dog urinated on one of the rugs. We immediately got in touch with Turabi and they were so helpful with getting it cleaned. They first tried to see if it was something we could clean at home, but then decided it was something they should handle because of the yellow. Turabi is a place we will continue to recommend to friends and family, and anytime we are in the market for a new rug or runner, they will be the only place we go. Thank you all so much for your knowledge, warmth, hospitality, and generosity!! See you soon!

There simply were too many interesting things. I am certain I could have spent hours inside and still not taken in everything. The back rooms had what I look at as apothecary chest- tons of little drawers, if you can picture it. Except they had several of them and every drawer was filled with different jewelry findings! Beads, clasps, bails- you name it. At the front of the store were a bunch of felt hats that were also incredible. We were greeted when we entered and checked on a couple of times- I really enjoyed this shop. I was very, very tempted to buy myself one of their gorgeous semi-precious gemstone necklaces. Next time.... oh next time!

Populated with gifts, goods, clothing, accessories, jewelry, home décor (rugs! so. many. rugs!), hand-carved wooden furniture, and curious curios collected from the far flung corners of the world, exploring this place is a treat in itself. It's a self-contained bazaar in a building. The employee who greeted us was enamored with our newborn son, and gave him a free finger puppet, which apparently they do for every little tyke on their first visit, which was a sweet touch. My wife ended up purchasing a few trinkets and a necklace chain, but we spent more time ooh-ing and aah-ing, while conversing with the attendant, more than anything. A great place to shop, but also just to browse, explore, and absorb. Music for the eyes, indeed, but also serenity for the soul!

Friends recommended Adem at Shirvan Rug Gallery for cleaning and repairing our rug. His wife Birgul put us at ease and told us to bring it right in. We may have sacrificed a good glass of wine, but Adem and Birgul didn't just rescue the rug, they made it look like the wine never stood a chance! It looks like new! Hopefully, we won't spill another glass of red wine on our rug, but if we do, we'll call Adem and Birgul. Thank you for a terrific job! They are experts at cleaning, repairing, and restoring Oriental rugs, and their prices are fair and reasonable. Not long ago I almost ruined the lovely Oriental runner in my kitchen. But my story has a happy ending. This rug is perfect for our home. The only problem is that as the years passed, I noticed that my lovely rug was SO soiled that I was too embarrassed to take it in for repair and cleaning. I love that rug, and I wanted it to be gorgeous again! Adem, the owner, is a GENIUS at hand washing, repairing, and restoring Oriental area rugs. I don't know how Adem did it, but my rug is perfect--better than new! Thank you, Adem! You are the BEST! Kathy Kraft, Bainbridge Island, WA

Dawson was the salesperson on my last purchase. He also has carpet laying experience. Anyway, everything went smoothly, and on time and in budget. They also had to upholster carpet onto an opening bench window seat. That takes more skill and they pulled it off, no problem. Good inventory there too. I stick to the Nylon choices for cut pile carpets, so the fibers are less prone to matting down in the traffic areas.
