THIS HAPPENED AT THE NEW LOCATION ON MAIN ST - 1247 MAIN ST…read moreE ....................... Ordered food and ended up with a disappointing fiasco. Contacting the restaurant was a little difficult but I eventually was able to get a hold of somebody. Despite that the ordering process went smoothly. Delivery was very delayed. I contacted the restuarant to see what the status was on my order. The person at the front desk stated that delivery person came to my place of residence and called upon arrival. I confirmed that I didn't recieve the phone call or any missed calls. Turned out the phone number was incorrect even though I confirmed my number when ordering several times. human error, I get it. No big deal. I was then asked if I still wanted the meal. I stated yes due to having guests over that evening. They confirmed that the order would be redelivered. The transaction went fine and the delivery guy was tipped, as always. Turned out the guy I was speaking to was the delivery driver. I thought nothing of it. Maybe the delivery guy was elsewhere and couldn't get it out fast enough. Moving along, I opened the containers and the food was burned. So much for being patient. I called the restaurant to see if the matter could be resolved. The " delivery guy " picked up. I recognized the voice. I told him about the mishap with the order. He then proceeded to tell me that he knew the food was subpar but it could possibly still be edible. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Who knowingly sends out defective food???? I stated that I wanted a full refund. He then started to whine about it and stated that he would give it to me tommorow. I've never heard of such a thing when it came to restaurants and refunds. Any refund I recieved from such establishment was recieved the same day. He was very close by but kept giving me excuses. Eventually he agreed to give me a FULL REFUND in CASH that same night and to meet him outside in a few minutes. Okay, done. He called me and told me that he was downstairs. I met up with him, thanked him for coming out to give me a full refund. He then proceeded to interrogate me and tell me that I was only getting money back for 1 item. I told him that he was breaking the agreement of the full refund as promised during our phone conversation. He proceeded to confront me and tell me that I wasn't getting my money back and sped off. I called the number that he originally called me from. He then proceeded to verbally assault and berate me in a horrible manner. He even called me back from a private number after I hung up him the first time. He continued to disrespect and insult me even to the point of stereotyping typing and making racist comments towards my skin colour and financial status, despite he also being a person of colour. He refused to give me the full refund despite agreeing to it and demanded that I return the food the next business day to get a full refund. I've never heard of such a thing.Honestly, as a loyal customer with all of the previous owners up until now. I can truly say that this had been the most dreadful, racist, discriminating and deceptive experience that I have ever had with a restaurant. It is highly disappointing to permanently end my business with them, it used to be such a nice restaurant. It is a shame that it has now become below unsatisfactory due to the ignorance, dishonesty and disrespect displayed by the " delivery guy ". Treat your customers better or move along. Be well.

Despite that, the delivery charge was raised astronomically (5 times what they claim). If that's how they handle a delivery, how can you trust the food handling (it's in the garbage outside our house). When I called to address this, the individual that answered was incredibly rude and told me to call lawyer. My response was that I'll let people know via the internet because it's not acceptable, so I'm letting you know: DON'T ORDER FROM HERE!

Surprisingly good Chinese place we found totally on accident!…read moreOn the outside, it looks really run down, but the inside is quite big and spacious. When we went for lunch, there was only another family there so we were seated immediately. We ordered the General Tso's chicken, Mapo tofu, and sticky rice. We ordered two small bowls of rice too (which ended up being BIG bowls!). The food here is SURPRISINGLY DELICIOUS! The General Tso's was the right crispyness and the chicken inside was juicy, and not too much sauce overpowering. I think it probably was one of the best Asian style fried chicken dishes I've had. The mapo tofu too, wasn't too strong in flavor and the vegetables also mixed very well with the dish. The sticky rice wrapped in bamboo leaves were smaller than expected, but each order comes with two, so it wasn't too bad. There were a LOT of people picking up orders or taking out their orders, but I think the food was worth eating in at the restaurant. Definitely will visit again! :)

Although this store has bakery in its name, this store sells other British goods, not only pastry. The pastries are only a small section of the store while candy and goods take up 75% of the store roughly For a majority of the pastries, they are stored in refrigerated display cases. They have Scottish eggs, baked pies, birdies and more. The scones, some bread and turnovers are stored at room temperature. If you are looking for a snack, I would say go for a pack of scones or apple turnover. I had the cheese and onion birdie cold. It was on the heavier side but would be better if you warmed it up, unfortunately they do not have any microwave or ovens to warm up the baked goods. The parking a this location is diagonal plaza parking along the store front. Nothing to exceptional about this place but if you're looking for baked English goods, this is a good place to visit.

Was going to get a sandwich or a sausage, but remembered that we were having sandwiches for dinner later. They have a cafeteria bar as well as the ability to order food. The cabbage rolls were perfect. To me, tasted like someone's Polish or Russian mamma made them. So good. The veggies were al dente, good mix. The mac and cheese had a rich flavor and was nice and cheesy. The roasted pork tasted like Sunday afternoon dinner. Omg- so good! The scalloped potatoes were the best I've ever eaten in my life. My wife agreed. Amazing. This is a gem here in Hamilton. For those readers in Portland- think of a bigger version of Edelweiss or Otto's Sausages, with a bigger menu and a hot food bar with amazing food! Excellent job! Btw- the lady who helped me was super sweet and helpful. Didn't get her name but had an Eastern European accent.

One of our…read morefavorite, most-anticipated things to do in Muskoka (something that I look forward to with baited breath ALL YEAR, honestly) is going to the Gravenhurst Farmers Market. It's one of the best Farmers Markets I have *ever* stumbled on, and my hands-down favorite vendor is Tam Nguyen at Saigon Soul Food. The Saigon Soul Food stand is phenomenal. Tam (along with her husband, parents, and sons) runs the stand like a well-oiled-machine, cooking up her Vietnamese delights, offering samples, and selling her products like gangbusters. You can purchase spring rolls, petit pies, sticky rice, satay all to eat right away at the market; or you can buy her delicious products frozen to heat up and serve at home. We usually make a lunch of her sticky rice and her wonderful shrimp or tofu garden rolls. Most of the food Tam creates is vegan and/or gluten free! Husband and I *love* her spring rolls and her curry puffs. We usually buy half a dozen boxes of her frozen apps to take home to the cabin -- the bonus is that (as well as in the oven) you can cook those bad boys on the grill! We also adore her homemade Asian sauces, too, and always stock up with enough jars to last us the entire year! Her garlic plum blows any duck sauce clear out of the water, and the spicy garlic plum packs a wonderful heat and fire that complements whatever it garnishes. Her peanut satay sauce is insanely good, too. If you live in Hamilton (or even St. Catherine's or Mississagua), you're lucky enough to be able to visit the Saigon Soul Food storefront whenever your heart desires. It's open 10 - 5 during the week, and I understand you can order lunches/meals there, or buy her products to take home. I might move to Hamilton in the very near future...
