Ambience is fairly typical of a Chinese buffet, with plenty of seating and generally quiet noise level. Food was just mediocre at best. None of it was fresh or particularly flavorful. The garlic chicken (or shrimp) has broccoli, green beans, carrots, and I believe a few others which I can't remember. It comes with rice and an egg roll. I tried the cheese wontons and an eggroll. All of these were really good the fry the rice did not look like much and they gave it to me in a cute little container, which I did not know came with my lo mein, but it was a nice bonus. The lo mein had a really good flavor, and the eggroll was good as well. The cheese wontons were definitely more than enough to share and I got a couple portions out of them. It was very affordably priced and for a hole in the wall that did not look like much. I was very glad to be surprised at how good the food was and I will be back. Also, the service was fast which I appreciate.

A lot of restaurants serve overly dry or overly wet rice, but China 1's rice is always aromatic and delicious. It is, dare I say, the perfect rice! It smells and tastes just like the rice my childhood friend's aunties used to make in their bamboo basket. :) My husband loved the Hunan Chicken so much he wanted to immediately order it again! It was under 30 minutes 'til closing, though, so we didn't do it. He's very much looking forward to trying it again soon. We've tried the sesame and lemon chicken as well, and even when delivered they're still crisp. The egg rolls were also crispy and delicious. China 1, you are doing a wonderful job. :)

I've been on the hunt for some good Chinese since moving here 7 years ago. I knew it wouldn't be an eat in experience but that was fine. I only live about 2 miles from there. I've tried probably 15 different Chinese restaurants since I moved here and this one could very well be the worst ever. I ordered the chicken fried rice with an egg roll and hot and sour soup. The egg roll wasn't bad but the rest was horrible. I'm not opposed to trying this place again with a different entree but if it's anything like the fried rice, that will be the last time.

The egg drop soup and dumplings were tasty too! The things that I thought would be good wasn't... the fish, bourbon chicken, and stuffed crabs were disappointing. Overall it was a good visit. This is your run of the mill Asian buffet and it was crowded on a Saturday night…read more I am not big on buffets and was reluctant to come here, but it was good to try regardless. I liked the Mongolian grill, which you are able to pick your veggies, meats and sauces and have someone cook it for you. It actually was quite decent and flavorful. Obviously, they use cheap meats like the beef was very chewy, but you get what you pay for. All the fried stuff was ok. I did really like the fried sweet potatoes. All the usual Chinese American dishes were meh. The soups looked questionable and there was no way I was trying the sushi, so I can't comment on that. Desserts seemed ok. There were some packaged ones like crème puffs. Really liked the watermelons though - they were sweet. I would highlight that the people who work here are friendly and pleasant, which was a big plus. So overall, I thought it was a good price $15.99 for dinner for this type of quality. Note that there's a 3.5% charge for credit cards. I honestly do think a lot of people would likely enjoy it -the number of patrons there proves that. It may not be for me, but it might be for you. Remember to tip for the workers, who are taking your plates away.

My only knock is that the one time I ordered them to go, most had broken apart by the time I got home. Still delicious, just a little disappointing presentation-wise. The green beans are an absolute must-try, and PLEASE do not sleep on the cucumber salad! It's fresh, flavorful, and easily my favorite appetizer on the menu. If you're looking for great Chinese food in Tulsa, this place absolutely deserves a spot on your list. And yes...I'll definitely be back. Just maybe not three times in the same week.

You can get all the common dishes here but you can also get some unusual dishes that are very authentic. My grandson once ordered jelly fish. You can't get that at very many local restaurants. Another thing I like is that they have a couple of large round tables with lazy Susans. Our extended family sat at one of those tables once. It was fun putting the things we wanted to share on the lazy Susan and being able to spin it around and try what we wanted. It made for fun conversation talking about the different dishes. That was when our grandson ordered jellyfish. The restaurant is fairly small but the large tables make the restaurant good for groups. I think this would be an excellent place for a Yelp event. They have a lunch menu but you have to ask for it. It includes some of the popular Asian dishes for $9:95. They have smaller portions that come with a choice of soup or egg roll. Danny and I asked to see the lunch menu, but decided to order off the main menu. We split Crispy Tofu with garlic sauce and egg rolls. I liked the presentation of the egg rolls. They were cut diagonally and arranged nicely on the plate. The tofu dish was quite tasty. Next time, I plan to get Mei Fun. I have had it here before and loved the variety of flavors. The service wasn't terrible but it wasn't wonderful. We got our food in a timely manner, but we felt rushed to order and she didn't check to see if we needed anything or refill our water glasses. Service here has been excellent in the past. I am glad we came back to Chengdu and were reminded of how much we like it. We will be back soon.
