I had been recomended the Jade centre for acupuncture treatment for joint pains, and other stuff,…read moreso i thought i'd check it out. and found a fantastic, small practitioner owned practice, that catered very much for your personal needs/ailments. I had a very thorough initial consultation with 'Louise' the acupuncturist, who was very knowlagable and listened very carfully to what i had to say , then did the pulses and other stuff that Acupuncturists do. I had done a study in the validity of acupuncture in orthopaedics when i did my Ortho certificate, so i had an idea of what to expect.,,, anyway. after a very involved history taking i had my first treatment , which was comfortable and relaxed, It was explained to me what to expect, so i had no worries about needles or pain, in fact the whole thing was pain free and left me feeling very realxed. I realise it was the first of a few sessions so i know i have a few more to get the long term benefits, but i am looking forward to my next session and feeling more changes in my general wellbeing. I won't go into my ailments, but suffice to say, I know i will need more sessions and realise things sometimes get a little worse before they get better, but that was not the case today, i felt so much benefit afterwards, i would recomend this to anyone.

Some staff that work there are volunteers and happy to give counselling if you require it. All services are free of charge and available for anybody to walk-in without notice. There are qualified Nurses and Doctors who can perform a health check for STI's/STD's at your own confidentiality. Your results will be given to you by post or phone usually within two weeks of the test. Free contraception (emergency or not) is also provided. There is also a very useful website where you can find answers to common questions and you can e-mail your own queries to Brook where friendly and reliable staff will give you a detailed answer in good time.

The Brook Advisory Centre is situated out of the city centre on London Road. It isn't the nicest…read moreplace to be honest. The waiting room is a bit shabby and the chairs are falling apart. The waiting room is often filled with girls and boys in school uniform, which as as 31 year old is a bit uncomfortable. The staff are friendly enough. They provide counselling, sexual health advice, testing for STI's and can prescribe contraception and emergency contraception. This place is fit for its purpose but that is it. I strongly recommend that if you are out of high school you should go to the Sexual Health Clinic above the walk in centre on Great Charlotte Street, or Abacus on Dale Street.

I visited them in desperation after an injury at work and…read morealthough my GP was unable to make any kind of meaningful diagnosis, after a detailed assessment with Sue Taylor she was able to pinpoint the specific muscles/tendons that were causing the problem and was able to give some advice, treatment and exercises to help. Then came some wonderful therapeutic massage with Geraldine she is just magic and I am pleased to report that I'm finally starting to feel like myself again ! I only wish that I had visited them sooner and I would recommend them to anyone !
