My time at the Coronation Centre so far has been absolutely amazing and extremely rewarding. All of the staff and service users have made me feel really welcome, and they have shown an interest in me. Both the staff and service users are kind, caring, friendly, funny and supportive, and the staff have tried to get me as involved as possible in order to make sure that I have enough experience by the time that I leave. This has therefore given me a real insight into what it is like to be a support worker for adults with learning disabilities, and it has inspired me to want to go into this career after I have finished my College course. Personally, I feel that the service users have coped really well when getting to know me and seeing a new face, but also learning to trust me. Another thing that I have really enjoyed so far is that I have gotten to know both the staff and the service users, and I have interacted with the service users as a group and on a one - to - one, and it has been very rewarding to watch the service users laughing, smiling and enjoying themselves. All of the staff members have really positive and professional relationships with the service users, and they offer an outstanding level of care to them, which aims to successfully meet their needs, and puts the service users at the heart of the care that is being provided. Every single member of staff is amazing at their job, and I praise them for their hard work, dedication and commitment. I cannot fault them in anyway whatsoever. read more
