Dr & Herbs offers alternative and holistic therapies, and specialises in Chinese medicine. Unfortunately, when I went there I had a bit of a bizarre experience. I saw a Chinese woman who may have spoken perfect English but just couldn't understand her. I wanted a detox program that I'd heard was recommended from this place and she ended up taking me into a little room and asking me to point to the places on my body that I thought were fat. Now that's a dangerous question to ask a standard woman, if you don't want to be still listening to her complain and hour later. Still, I was as diplomatic with my body as I could be, and ended up leaving with some sort of health pill. I think I still have them somewhere.... Still, it's a good shop to browse around for the curious, and if you're interested in holistic health it's definitely worth a look in. I may nip back to see if they've invented a miracle diet pill yet - after all, Chinese medicine is likely to be more advanced than our own!

Chinese medicine concentrates on the causes of the illness and offers a natural approach as opposed to Western medicine. You'll be given a free consultation by the Chinese Doctor where he/she will gather diagnostic information consisting of four examinations - looking, listening, asking and touching. The most important examination is based upon examining your tongue, its overall colour and the coating will tell the doctor about the condition of your internal organs. The examination or consultation can be taken in a private interview room (if required). The doctor will recommend a course of treatment to assist with the problem according to the principles of Chinese medicine. An appointment is not always necessary as they will try to fit in time for you if possible. Although many claim Chinese medicine sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, one thing that can be assured is that Dr & Herbs will provide a competent level of service to all customers. Each member of staff is fully qualified and has extensive clinical experience in Chinese medicine. If you've suffered from a long term illness and still looking for a solution, Dr & Herbs could be your saviour.

We were lucky to be in Liverpool and he was taken to this hospital which is teaching hospital and specializes in heart and lungs. The doctors and nursing staff were wonderful. They could have been a little more forthcoming with how king he needed to stay. Everyday we were told something else. He wound up being there for 5 days and er could boot return to our cruise which was disappointing. The menu here is unbelievable and the food was not your typical hospital fare. There are a few tea times during the day and then a round of soup of the day. Dinner also means tea time which at first was confusing to us. Patients here can just get up and go wherever they want. One roommate ( there were 6 in the room) would go for a cigarette after his nebulizer treatment!!! WTH! The hospital is old and a mess. It was dirty and the bathrooms were disgusting. Elevators are so slow and at high visitor hours difficult to get. I believe there is a new hospital building next door that should have been finished but was not ready yet. That will definitely bump a review up a star. Thre lobby always has something going on... clothing and home goods for sale, Costco memberships, health fair stuff, and even a farmer's market. The doctors were very good and that's the most important part and I feel all in all he was taken care of. We hope never to visit again.

Spurred on after watching 'The Liverpool Story' where the iconic premises are featured. From stepping over the threshold the proprietor seemed to know instinctively which fabric would suit the dolls coloring. Proving an excellent choice. As when the doll was returned to me soon after by post it looked absolutely stunning. The doll has huge sentimental value and every time I look at it, it makes me smile.

I can only imagine that they are so specialist that they have created an e-commerce website and make all their money online. Nestled on the corner of Smithdown Road, in the heart of Liverpool's student community, is a fairly big shop that specialises in dolls houses, dolls house furniture and dolls house parephaelia. Not only this but they also act as a Dolls House repair shop. I mean talk about positioning your shop within the heart of your target market, correct me if i'm wrong but I don't know any students that have a dolls house or anything related to one! I've never seen anyone in this shop, and they only open 4 days a week, but fair play to them. If you know any Borrowers, perhaps you could furnish their house for under £20!

AVOID DR EDWARD S GAYNOR…read more I'm a young female university student. I needed an emergency doctor appointment after being in crisis in the early morning yesterday. A doctor called (didn't know their name at the time), he sounded like an older male, I told him about my depression timeline and suicide attempts. I was nervous talking to him since last time I willingly had a male doctor was 6 years ago (the last male doctor spoke horribly to me). I mentioned my American fiancé supporting me throughout, and he replied: "You're not really helping yourself having an American fiancé." I was taken back by this comment and felt like I had to validate everything else I had to say after this. I called the doctors again this morning asking the receptionist for female doctor instead and to cancel the appointment with the male doctor since I was uncomfortable, explaining what happened, he replied: "The doctor you spoke to is one of the top doctors in the GP, I doubt he actually said that." I feel doubted, belittled and hopeless to chase up about my mental health now. Overall, if you're concerned about your mental health, avoid Dr Edward S Gaynor. Put a really bad impression on the GP since he's "one of the top doctors"...

I can understand how if you are used to going to The Infirmary or the Ropewalks surgery it may feel odd coming to a surgery in the middle of a university campus, but the good thing about the Brownlow Group is that you never have to wait longer than a week for an appointment as there are 3 surgeries to choose from. They treat you just like they would in any other doctor's, although the gossiping receptionists sometimes forget to lower their voices. Still, it's entertaining! There's an electric touchscreen self-admission point so if you've lost your voice or are highly contagious you can sign yourself in. Although, if you're highly contagious maybe you should just stay away from public areas... The waiting time is a little longer here (I blame the moaning students) but everyone gets seen in the end so no need to worry!

It is now in a better position and more easily noticed nowadays plus it has that new fresh look about it. I have to say that it is a lot more improved in terms of the interior which offers plenty of seating areas and appears what a surgery should look like in comparison to the old and dull looking one. However, the service has not changed much and as in the previous review, it does take a while to make an appointment because there always seems to be a reason that the doctor is on holiday or they are fully booked. I would advise to book about 1 month in advance as about 80% of the time, you will not get your preferred time unless you are an emergency patient.
