Well, all good things come to an end... But, don't get me wrong, the food isn't bad, it's just not as good as it was.... First of all, the hotel was bought out by Clarion, so it is now "Clarion Inn Sierra Vista". I thought the outside looked cleaned up a bit, but the inside was a bit rough. The food was totally different from what we experienced in 2024. First, I orded the exact same dish, the Sweet and Sour Pork. The pork wasn't "clean" as I described it last time. You know how sometimes the worst and cheapest cuts of meat are used? It's got all sorts of discoloring on it, the pieces are odd shaped like giblets or something? That's what I got. Previously, the pieces were like chopped... and lightly breaded. The sauce wasn't super sweet, and had a good even sweet vs sour to it. That was last time,... 2024. Now, the messy looking meat, heavy breading, super sugary sauce. And the rice.... the rice before had what I believe to be black sesame seeds sprinkled on top... and the flavor of the rice with those in it, was over the top delicious. Those little tiny black specs just turned bland white rice to a top notch dish. Well, again, that was then, this is now... just a bowl of bland white rice. So, to summarize. The s&s pork was... eh... the rice was... blah. I mean, I LOVED this restaurant before. Now it's just.... eh... Too bad. Oh, and just to note, the reason we hadn't been here in 2 years, we live out of town. This restaurant was literally part of our reasons for coming here on our "day trip" vacation. Disappointing. read more

I finally made it back here after three years. I wanted to see if there are any changes since my last visit. First, the restaurant section is now in a different dining area from the previous place. (The old location is where the hotel serves its buffet breakfasts) While I like the wall art, ambiance is not as charming as in the previous dining area. Second, the only lunch special now is a chicken-fried steak platter for $14.95. Today I ordered the minced garlic honey chicken since my very friendly server recommended it. It came out promptly. It's mostly fried chicken breast pieces smothered in sweet sauce. I also ordered water and it came with a slice of lemon. I love that! The meal definitely smelled of garlic, but what I mostly tasted was the overpowering sweet honey. Portions were big, but the meal was screaming for some vegetable side dish. I got white rice in a bowl, but no soup like the first time. I did get to serve myself to soft-serve ice cream afterward, but it was just ok. There is a private room off the main dining room for large parties. I left feeling stuffed. Excellent service, good food. I'll come back again and may even try the lunch special with chicken. read more

I thought this place was pretty good! I tried the General's Chicken, which was very tasty crispy, flavorful, and hit the spot. The Mongolian Beef was also excellent. I really liked it and would order it again. The Sichuan Chicken, on the other hand, was a miss for me just overly fried little balls with not much going on and way too salty. The noodles were solid though, good texture and taste. All in all, this is a solid, tasty Chinese spot. Nothing mind-blowing, but reliable and worth returning to. I'd definitely go back! read more

The food was ok -good -but nothing special that I'd come back for. I think the crab rangoons were baked? They were not fried and came out at room temp. There was only one server and we weren't in a hurry, so no biggie. She was so busy we didn't get checked on after our food was served. The portions were large and I suppose that is the take away - you won't leave hungry read more

I was working late at Fort Huachuca, and everything was closed then, so I headed out the south gate into Sierra Vista's downtown area. I found the Orient Express. As you enter the door, the restaurant is on your left, and another business is on the right-hand side. I paid no attention to what it was since it was late and I was tired. I ordered my standard, which is chicken fried rice and an egg roll. She mentioned having spring rolls, which was fine as long as they were not seafood since I am allergic to them. Well, the total came to $36+. At first, I thought she might have charged me for two chicken fried rice dishes since that's usually the case, but to my surprise, the spring roll was four rolls per order at $9.95. So, if you're eating solo, be ready because ordering a single roll is impossible. They are only orderable in quantities of four. She had to call the manager to cancel the additional order for spring rolls. No worries. The cashier/order taker was kind and friendly, a delight after a demanding day. As for the food, it was plentiful and fresh, and I even went to Walmart afterward to pick up some bottled water. read more

This place was recommended by a local. Considering Sierra Vista doesn't have many options we decided to give it a try. We ordered the house lo mein and crab puffs. I will say this is mediocre food. The chili oil wasn't hot at all seriously poured it onto my plate and no flavor whatsoever. The waitress was super sweet and kept checking on us. read more

What a pleasant surprise. We didn't really know what to expect when we pulled up to a hotel and realized the restaurant was inside. However, the food was delicious and the service was great. Everyone is the family enjoyed their dinner. read more

Food is tasty and fresh. Probably the best traditional Asian food in Sierra Vista. Delivery was timely.

I had an urge for Chinese food that has lasted for two weeks. It was an itch that Panda Express couldn't scratch. Being new to town, I was iffy about trying the local cuisine but gotta try new things. Orient Express is located in a hotel on Fry street and it's understandable why you can drive past, it's in the hotel instead of attached. I was greeted when I entered and shown the menus at the desk for my to-go order. I walked around the dining room while waiting for my food. It's a large area with a side room tucked away by the pool. It didn't take long for the food to be done. I noticed there wasn't an overwhelming smell of "Chinese food" that I've come to expect. The spring rolls were delicious, both plain and with the sauce. Same with the Veggie Lo mein. This isn't like previous restaurants I've been to before just regarding the menu. Other Chinese restaurants have lots of options, including lunch and house specials. Orient Express has a few options for appetizers, desserts and main dishes. read more

I was not happy with the food. ordered 3 dinners and food was dry and I got upset stomach even

The food was okay the service was excellent. They have cut back on their portions, but so has everyone else. Walked away hungry and ordered a War Wonton soup for later. The restaurant was clean and full of Patrons. Will go back. read more

The food is delicious. Service was friendly and prompt. Food was prepared and served very quick. I like how you can specify how spicy you like dishes. The portion sizes were definitely shareable. Ambiance could be better, there are still Christmas looking decorations up and it's a little too quiet, but it's still nice and clean. I have to give a special shout out to Ms. Win, I believe she is the manager/ owner, and she is the sweetest lady around! The restaurant is located within the Sierra Suites Motel. If you need further directions stop by the front counter and Cassandra, the front desk clerk, is super friendly and helpful as well. I highly recommend this place for authentic Chinese food in Sierra Vista! I'm looking forward to visiting again and trying more options! read more

While the ambiance of the restaurant itself is rather plain, the food was phenomenal. I ordered the black pepper Shrimp Balls (AMAZING) and the spiciest chicken dish (one next to Kung Pao) that I don't recall the name of that was truly spicy and amazingly delicious. Besides the ambiance, the only other oddity is that the Coke is served in a can with a glass, not a fountain soda (for $2.50).. read more

I previously reviewed this place, but somehow the review disappeared? My husband, daughter, and I come here about once a month. It switched management once since we starting eating here. We find the food was good under both, but like the current food better. They slimmed the menu down some, I think so that they could focus on refining the flavors of the dishes. It works well! Pros: Consistently good food Free ice cream (some days) Beer and wine Dim sum is always an excellent choice here Cons: Long waits Seemingly high turnover wait staff Sometimes wrong order and/or missing item(s) Infrequent check ins We'll likely come back, but now more like once every few months or so. read more

They serve really great Chinese food for a really reasonable price. All the entrées, were right around $15 apiece. I had the Mongolian beef which was really quality beef and really well cooked and flavored. The egg drop soup was also really good and nice and hot. An awesome find in Sierra Vista! Impeccably clean, great service. Favorites are fish and sauerkraut soup Not what you would expect. So I am from out of town, Southern California! We found this little gem because we were staying at Sierra Suites. While it's inside the hotel, anyone can come for lunch or dinner. The ambiance is very nice, quiet and the service was exceptional. Best in Sierra Vista, or one of the best. We loved the food. If you have not tried this it's worth coming in for lunch or dinner. Really good food. Great people! We loved it. Will be making this a place we return to when we visit family. read more

My food tasted like the oil got too hot and burned if that makes sense. It looked amazing but it did not deliver. I don't eat out much but a cute older Chinese lady was handing out menus in front of the Safeway the other day so I figured give it a try. I went for lunch and ordered the Kung Pao Chicken which is my go to at any Chinese place. No tea or soup which used to be standard with lunch but the Kung Pao was really exceptional. I wouldn't normally rave about rice, but it was really nice, too. And they have a fun self serve soft serve ice cream machine for dessert. Can't beat it! read more

This was a very pleasant surprise! We had secured rooms at the Sierra Suites. After a long day of traveling and sightseeing with two 3 year olds and a 12 year old, the adults were not in the mood to search for dinner. A Chinese restaurant in the hotel - bonus!! I live in the SF Bay Area and have eaten in many Chinese restaurants. Without a doubt, this was a 5 star experience. Late on a Sunday evening, we were warmly welcomed. The food was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and fresh. We had vegetarian spring rolls, green onion pancakes, pork dumplings, egg drop soup, House Noodles (2 orders), Mongolian Beef, and Sesame Chicken. They have beer, including Tsingtao, and limited wine options. The latter is not a big deal!! read more

I recently ordered from here because it's a brand new place and I was so excited to have some Chinese food in this small town. I placed my order online and they quickly made it and had it ready within 15 minutes. First thing I noticed was how small the portions are and no rice is included with the meals - you have to order it separately. For a $11-16 meal I would expect at least white rice. I ordered the garlic chicken which was very soggy and had little flavor. Very garlicky but lacked texture. My friend ordered the beef and broccoli and it was also lacking flavor and texture. The fried rice was yellow and also had very little flavor, very disappointing. I really really wanted to love this place because we desperately needed a Chinese restaurant but this isn't it. I will say the service was really kind and quick, I just wish the food was good. read more

We had the most delightful and SCRUMPTIOUS dinner at Orient Express last night, just HOLY WOW!!!!! They're just getting started so the ambiance is slightly lacking, but clean and open for many to dine in and enjoy truly authentic amazing Chinese cuisine. The "critics" are saying hurtful things that clearly just express toxic tendencies and a need to hurt hard working people who are breaking their backs to please their guests. Don't let the toxic ones spread their own personal unhappiness into your mind. Try it, if you like epic Chinese food, and decide for yourself. The staff is professional and the food was made with skill and pride. Our plates showed up piping hot, full of color from freshness and packed with savory spices and joy inducing flavors. We had the spicy Dandan noodles, egg drop soup, perfectly cooked garlic laden bok choy, spicy Sichuan Chili chicken, seafood shumai dumplings....all for $50 and it was all perfect and generous portions enough leftovers for my husband and I to eat the next day for lunch. The Orient Express will now be our GO-TO for delicious food clearly made from family recipes passed down through many generations for all to savor and enjoy. read more

It appears to be a nice place but we ordered takeout. Serice was nice but a little slow. The food was not good. I was so disappointed. So good! It's so hard to find good Asian cuisine in town, especially on a Sunday after 4PM. This one is in an odd spot, inside a hotel, but it's worth it to wander inside and grab something to eat. The prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes! We had the orange chicken, spicy beef stew, and the steamed pork dumplings. All of these were so good - the orange chicken comes with enough sauce to eat your rice with, the beef stew has flavor and a mouth numbing affect, and the steamed pork dumplings have a delicious soup/sauce inside of it. The waitresses are also incredibly sweet. read more

We ate there for first time and was very pleasantly surprised. The food was very good. But it is not your typical Chinese American. It's very Chinese. Specifically from a region near Hong Kong. We had the sour soup. While it looked like the infamous hot and sour soup it is not. It's very good nicely spiced. And definitely large enough for 2. In face a single order will easily give you 4 bowls of soup. Our second dish was garlic Mongolian beef. Nicely spiced. Very noticeable but pleasant garlic. Lots of beef and CHILIS. They are hot. I would reconsider eating them unless your are very familiar with Chinese chilis. They still are a bit dis organized. Rearranging to find optimal arrangement but service was good and fast. But not overly busy. Definitely with adding to your list of good places to eat in sierra vista read more
