Whenever I try a new spot, especially a Chinese restaurant, I always go for 2 staples: roast pork fried rice, and boneless spare rib tips. If a place can nail both, it's a win for me. Orient Chef delivered! I placed my order on GrubHub, and within 40 minutes it arrived, still very hot, and neatly packed. I ordered the roast pork fried rice, boneless spade rib tips along with an order of steamed pork buns. Buns were just ok, not thing to crazy. However, the fried rice and spare rib tips were spot on. The pork was tender and full of flavor, exactly what you'd expect, and the rice was cooked perfectly, not dry or hard, with generous amounts of chucks of pork through out. Every bite had multiple pieces, which is rare. What really sets this place apart is the price. The large fried rice was $10.95, compared to the $15-$17 at other places I've tried. For quality and portions, this is a great deal. This might just be my new go too for Chinese take out. I'll definitely be ordering from here agin! read more

I've been going to Orient Chef in Davie for 20 years. The food was always consistently great. The owner and employees were always friendly. Unfortunately, she sold the restaurant recently. They kept the name, but that's where the similarities end. Yesterday we ordered pork fried rice and egg rolls. How do you screw that up? The egg rolls were edible, but dry. The pork fried rice looked and tasted like somebody accidentally spilled a gallon of soy sauce in it. Super dry, tasted a bit burnt, and incredibly salty. After a few bites we had to throw it out. Even though we moved away from Davie, we always made the 20 minute drive to get food from Orient Chef. Never again! read more

Used to go all the time when Asian lady was there. Went today and there were new people there they said they bought it from her. Went for qt of pork fried rice and it was salty as the ocean. Went had to throw out the whole container. Never going back again. For your future customers, please taste the food before you serve it. read more

The reviews scared me but I noticed someone at the neighboring nail shop in which I was in (shout out to Nikki my amazing nail tech) was brought food. The customer service stood out to me. I ordered anyway. I ordered sesame chicken and fried chicken wings which both came with pork fried rice, which had grilled onions which was a plus for me. The lunch special comes with a choice of an egg roll, soup or soda. One of my orders. I got a soda and the other order. I got an eggroll. The food was fresh, tasty and hot. The order took under 10 minutes.The only negative was the small portion of food. I did order a lunch special, but this typical type of restaurant usually gives a generous portion of rice. read more

Very good! We were a little nervous about trying it just due to the lack of reviews, but super solid chinese takeout. We got the general tso's chicken, orange chicken, and the bourbon chicken combos, which all came with fried rice, egg rolls, and wonton soup. Very good portions for the price, we all had leftovers. The general tso's had a great spicy kick and you could tell the orange chicken was made with real orange peels. The wonton soup and egg rolls were solid and the pork fried rice was delicious and flavorful. The bourbon chicken was probably our least favorite but still good, just a little sweet for our taste. We've been looking for good Chinese take out since moving into the area over a year ago. Orient Chef is the best takeout yet. After a couple of orders I must say their soups are excellent and standout above the others. The egg foo young was tasty with a good sauce. The house fried noodles could have used a couple more shrimps but there was plenty of beef, pork and chicken. All the sauces tasted different here, in some of the other place all the sauces tasted the same on every dish, not here. Their fried rice was well cooked and tasty. Their egg rolls were typical and nothing special. They even left out the carrots at our request, they don't belong in Chinese cooking. Our opinion, we could be wrong. Need to try them again, so far so good! read more

DONT ORDER went in person to order food, came back 15 min later they got our order wrong. We already left so we were stuck with the wrong food. Next time ordered online $50 worth of food not including the delivery fee + tip. As far as these "Publix plaza" type fast Chinese food places go this was excellent. Totally standard but everything was actually good, hot, and fresh-tasting. Which is rare. Also I've been on a mission to find krab rangoons that weren't 90% cream cheese and these were some of the best and the red sauce is sooo good. I know this is a Chinese food take-out joint, but I come here for sushi. At least once a week, I'm here taking out sushi. Their sushi is good, it's fresh, it's well priced, it's convenient and it has never made me ill. I can't say the same for the more expensive Japanese and Japanese-Thai restaurants that are in the Davie/Plantation area. Don't go here if you're looking for crazy creative rolls, huge sushi or a beautiful artistic presentation. Orient Chef has straight-forward, take out sushi at a reasonable price. They do that well. I was really disappointed after ordering food from here. I had really high hopes for it despite some of the negative reviews & wanted to give it a chance but I was mistaken. I ordered a dinner platter & paid extra for shrimp fried rice instead of pork and paid 3 dollars extra for it but, only had 3 shrimps in my entire rice. The rice was not fresh either.
