Longer review: My elderly mother and I recently bought a home together and needed cabinetry in our den and a full outfitting for my bedroom closet. We saw Closet Factory at Costco and decided to schedule a consultation. Paula, our designer, was fantastic from start to finish. She spent a lot of time at our home going over options, listening to our needs, taking measurements, and working around our schedule. A few weeks later, we met her at the office/warehouse to review designs and materials. She even mocked up my mother's closet (which we ultimately decided not to do). We made edits, finalized everything, and signed the contract. It's definitely pricey, but the quality makes it feel worth it. About a month later, someone came out to re measure the spaces before fabrication. Unfortunately, this part of the process wasn't great. The person was there for only about 10-15 minutes and seemed disengaged. My mom was concerned, especially since Paula had spent nearly an hour measuring originally, but we assumed the person knew what they were doing. Installation day is where Tousauntt (installer) completely shined. He and Adrian arrived on time, were polite, professional, efficient, and took great care to protect our floors and space. They immediately got to work. Partway through the day, my mom noticed one cabinet backing was darker than expected. When we checked the design drawings, she was right; however, we did not bring up the concern at that time. Tousauntt also brought to our attention an error with the installation, showed us where it was, and explained how he was going to correct it, which he did without trying to hide anything. His communication and integrity were excellent. Later, another issue came up that was clearly tied back to the measurement process--not Tousauntt. Our den has a large barn door mechanism with visible bolts on both sides of the wall. This had been there during measurements, but it wasn't accounted for, which meant the cabinetry couldn't sit flush against the wall. Tousauntt spent nearly two hours on the phone with his supervisor figuring out a proper solution. He ultimately made it work and it looks great--but that extra stress and delay could have been avoided with more careful measuring. Near the end of day one, we realized a pull out shelf for a printer and a file drawer insert were missing. Tousauntt checked his schematics and believed these specifics weren't included. I called Paula, who immediately confirmed they had been ordered and worked quickly to coordinate a fix for day two. On day two, Tousauntt returned to complete the project. He proactively pointed out and fixed another uneven area in the den, and in my closet he even puttied old holes from previous shelving. Both he and Adrian worked incredibly hard, took no real breaks, and were clearly committed to doing things right. Paula followed up the next day to check in. We were overall happy but still unsure about that darker cabinet backing. She offered to have fabricators come and fix it, but we chose not to have additional construction. Since it was an ordering error, Paula also worked to get us some remuneration, which we truly appreciated. Final thoughts: We're happy with the end result and extremely grateful for Paula and Tousauntt. However, the process required us to be very attentive, ask a lot of questions, and verify details to avoid larger issues. I would recommend Closet Factory--with the caveat that you should stay involved and speak up if something doesn't feel right. That said, I would absolutely work with Paula and Tousauntt again.

Great experience from start to finish…read more Paula McCormack created the initial design and spent hours at our home to get it done and help us choose finishes and make the most efficient use of space. She was a pleasure to work with and did a fantastic job. The Closet Factory sent Chris Funk out to install the 8 new closets. Our place had just been remodeled, and Chris took great care in set up and installation. Showed up early. Stayed late. Great work. Great personality. Terrific communication with us each day via text to let us know how the project was going. Every step of the way, professional, efficient. Hard to ask for anything more. The end result is beautiful, functional, and exactly what we hoped for.

The sales person Alayna was extremely helpful in the designing of our closet, measuring and suggesting ways to maximize the space while maintaining the beauty of the closet. We explored other providers of this product and found Closet by Design to be reasonable. Not the least expensive but just about in the middle of the price range. The best part of this project was the installation. Alex and Gerson are probably the very best technicians I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The project includes removal of my existing built-in closet and installation of my new one which was anticipated to take 3 days. It was completed in a little overcast day and a half. They were amazingly fast and talented in their work performance. Having worked in construction and renovation of properties I can tell you their performance was exceptional. We had a few after completion changes which were also completed professionally and perfectly. I highly recommend this company if you are planning to renovate your closet.

When the time came, every attempt to reach her went straight to voicemail--three calls, no response. No heads-up, no follow-up, nothing. So we called the main office expecting at least a basic level of professionalism. Instead, we were met with one of the most dismissive and rude customer service interactions I've experienced. We explained that rescheduling was difficult for us and simply asked to work with another associate so we could move forward. That request was met with excuses, attitude, and ultimately we were told--very clearly--that our situation didn't matter and everything would happen strictly on their terms. The call was then abruptly ended. To make matters worse, we followed up via email and have received zero response for four days. If this is how Closets By Design treats potential customers before they even earn your business, I can only imagine how bad it gets once they have your money. It's unfortunate that I have to leave this type of review-- First off, Having to come home and see things not finished/done wasn't a great experience considering I had paid for a cleaning service. Finding myself cleaning up after they had already left. My countertops, behind the coffee maker, fruit basket + other was not cleaned. Container with food in the sink was still there. Miicrowave was not cleaned. She put the dishes from dishwasher cups, silverware, plates, etc in cabinets by putting them just anywhere-Did not follow suite. Very sloppy. I believe she has organizing down as well. Hmmm...? Under bed wasn't swept, bathtub not touched, regardless if it was already clean-Still should have cleaned the tub/shower. I believe that's how you maintain a clean home. My living room floor...She didn't have the protocol to pick up the eye glasses on floor or anything else for that matter. She must have seen it when she vacuumed... Or did she vacuum-She claimed she vacuumed?? This amongst other things.... I was not going to leave a review, until I had to mop the floor in the kitchen. Apparently, my mop bucket that has a squeegee in it to squeeze the water out in the bucket was missing. I thought great" On top of everything else! She arrived on time, asked to see the Groupon and then told me it was wrong, her husband should have cancelled it and she refused to do the work. Even after I offered to pay MORE. This really destroyed my entire week. People like her don't care. She's the vendor, but wanted to blame the low cost on her husband or Groupon or both. Meanwhile, I've paid and am stuck now. Stay away. She might be a good cleaner (I'll never know) but her business practice is very bad. Groupon refused to refund, offering only "Groupon bucks". Buyer beware indeed.
