Vegan Breakie (veggie sausage not available but falafels given instead)
JJ T.

In July 2013 I spent the summer in Oxford and researched vegetarian and vegan restaurants. The organic deli and cafe provided great options. I ordered the "veggie breakie" because I really wanted to have a full English breakfast with their homemade veggie sausage. However it was "not there yet" when I arrived that day so he swapped it for falafels. I was a bit disappointed that I was not able to try the sausages, but I still was able to have a great healthy breakfast. The menu described that I would get the veggie sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms, potatoes, roasted vegetables (all organic) and their artisan organic toast. As you can see from the photo, it was a full breakfast, but I did not receive any mushrooms. You could keep it vegan by also adding beans. You could also 2 eggs as well. Overall I enjoyed the meal but I didn't give 5 stars because of their lack of sausage as stated on menu (he said the truck was coming any minute-- I was there at 9:30am) and that the mushrooms were missing. Cute place and nice location right off of Cornmarket street.

We didn't have to leave Oxford until noon, so we decided to get brunch at Organic Deli. It's tucked away off the Main Street in an alley near the Macdonald Randolph hotel. You order your food right when you walk in and then you head on upstairs to grab a table. We both ordered a double espresso, my sister ordered the typical English breakfast and I ordered the chorizo and eggs. SO GOOD. It's usually the simple things that really do it for me. I liked the vibe of this place--very easy going. This place had different-shaped tables and mismatched chairs, yet it all came together and was far from an eye sore. From the looks of the menu and the fresh ingredients they use, it's hard to imagine you can go wrong with anything here. Try this place out! :)

Eggs Benedict, so good!

Was looking for a tasty new brunch place in Oxford on a Sunday morning, and came upon this gem! At first I was hesitant because anything with 'organic' in the name usually ends up being 1) choc-a-bloc with self righteous hipsters and 2) very expensive. That's not to say I entirely dislike hipsters, I just didn't want to be the odd one out. Anyway, it's an order at the counter, then wait for them to deliver your food sort of place. It's a bit tricky to find, but so worth it! Ordering was pretty easy, and the menu catered to all sorts of dietary restrictions and preferences. Dad and I both ordered the eggs Benedict, particularly as we subscribe to the whole 'order something you wouldn't/can't make yourself' philosophy. He also had a flat white and I a latte. The food is all made fresh in their tiny kitchen, so be prepared to wait over your coffee. The coffee was amazing, and they have so many non-dairy milk options (thank goodness!). It was so good we both ordered a second round. The food was also very generously portioned, and had fresh flavor. The ham, in particular, was something special! I would highly recommend this ace to my friends, especially the veggie/vegan ones! The prices were about average for Oxford brunch at roughly £2.50 for a latte and £7.50 for the eggs. Will be coming back for brunch again!!

Both were scrumptious and we would recommend either of those, but we both agree the avocado toast was the best.

Maison Blanc - Subpar Eggs Benedict. Wouldn't order them again.

Maison Blanc is famous for their grab and go pastries. These are my favourite croissants in…read moreOxford. Their coffee is a bit hit or miss. It's dark, and sometimes they cappuccino is great, and sometimes it's just burnt and bubbly. But Taylors next door serves a decent cup of Illy. It's just a good breakfast place. I usually love the eggs florentine if I'm going savory. However the portions are a bit on the small size for my brunch loving American self. Seems like a local trend here that french toast, although delicious, is a single thin slice of white bread. But at least they have plenty of pastries to top off with your meal. They also shine on cakes and cake decor. You normally have to order a day before, but their cakes are worth it. I ordered the Fraser cake for my husband's birthday and it was a hit with the whole family. Worth the walk for a morning bite.

This cafe was superb, the selection was incredible and the first bite was delicious. Not only do they have pastries and desserts but they have various jams and sandwiches and chocolate and wines and everything you'd expect a great french cafe to have. Now I would recommend various pastries and desserts but that wouldnt be fair. I had the hardest time trying to choose what I wanted. Everything just looked so damn good. And the smell..oh god the smell. I could live in there. O sweet maison blanc I long to visit you again soon.
