Summit prepared me greatly for college as I now attend a prestigious university where I am making exceptional grades. All of the faculty and staff go above and beyond to care for students. TW: racism and micro aggression…read more We enrolled our daughter in the summer camp as a trial for the August enrollment, but we were deeply disappointed and concerned by the discriminatory treatment we experienced as an Asian American family. On Tuesday of the second week, our daughter contracted lice at the camp. We promptly notified the school and informed them that our daughter had observed other children experiencing itching symptoms. Since our other two children attend a different daycare and no one else in our family had lice, it was evident that the infestation originated from the camp. We took immediate action by treating our daughter and keeping her home the following day to prevent the spread of lice to other children. The initial response from the school was to require clearance from a pediatrician before allowing our daughter to return, a requirement that was not imposed on other children. However, upon consulting our pediatrician, we were informed that such clearance was unnecessary. We relayed this information to the school, and they school finally relented. In addition, the school deliberately chose not to inform other parents about the lice infestation, thereby denying them the opportunity to make informed decisions for their children's well-being. We made multiple attempts to contact the school through phone calls, text messages, and emails to obtain updates on the situation. We sought clarification on the actions taken by the school and inquired if other children had been checked and removed from the class. Regrettably, our communication was met with silence. Despite assurances from the receptionist that we would receive a call back within the day, we never received any response. Eventually, the school sent an email stating that the information was confidential. Our primary concern was to understand the current situation so that we could make appropriate arrangements for our daughter the following school day. Instead of addressing our questions and concerns, the school chose to ignore us. It is unimaginable to entrust your child to a school where you are unable to establish contact for an entire day. Such disregard for communication and the mistreatment we encountered are wholly unacceptable. The prevailing demographic makeup of predominantly white students and faculty within the school, combined with the treatment we experienced, left us feeling dehumanized. I also emailed them 4 times regarding an overcharge and after 6 days still no response. If you're looking for diversity, morals, kindness and inclusivity, look elsewhere.

Residents of Williamson County are eligible to attend Meridian, and this school offers a worthy alternative to the good schools we already have in the area. My son attends the primary program, and we have really enjoyed being part of the Meridian community. Pros: The building and instructional spaces are high-quality and pleasant, especially for a charter school based in a converted office building. The IB curriculum is rigorous, and it offers a more balanced world perspective than the Texas public school experience. Teachers are absolutely top-notch. Meridian treats teachers well, and the quality shows. The optional after-school program (Triple A) is fantastic for working families. The cost is reasonable, the teachers/group leaders are great, and my son has a blast. The kids are constantly rotating through meaningful art, academic, and athletic activities. It's amazing! Meridian has very engaged parents and volunteers. There's even a school community garden that has been integrated into classroom curriculum. Administration is engaged, passionate, and empowered to move quickly to steer the school in the right direction. They are not beholden to monolithic policies of larger districts. They can experiment and deploy best practices (like the awesome Mind Up program) Cons: Admission is by lottery, and waitlists have been very long in recent years. Word has gotten out. With a campus located in a generally commercial zone, the grounds sport more of a warehouse/prison-yard feel. Green space is seriously lacking. The kids do have adequate outdoor space and play-structures, but there are no large grassy fields. With a funding gap versus public schools, fundraising and parent donations are a factor. I think Meridian might also face challenges in things like technology deployment, given that the school does not have access to the same kind of clout (like bond issues, huge budgets) of a RRISD. The campus is a commuter campus with no bus service or "walkability" like a neighborhood school. Also, the location is near I-35 in an area that frequently has traffic conditions that are far less than ideal. This school will require extra commitment for pickup and dropoff, but it is well worth it.

Faith was an amazing stylist, she used a permanent color on my hair to match my dark roots and did a phenomenal job!! It's been around 4 months since she did it and the color still sticks perfectly!! She was also super sweet and very easy to talk to, we had many light and fun conversations throughout the process. Definitely will come back if I need another appointment!!

I have to unfortunately update my review to 2 stars because my recent experience turned out…read morehorrible and I will not be returning. I am not going to name the individual who worked on me to be respectful to her, but I will say the girl who colored and styled my hair needs a lot more training before she is ready to really work on hair. I left with hair dye all over my forehead, my sideburns were soaked with dye and behind my neck by that wasn't the worst of it. I didn't notice how much dye was left in my hair until I got to my car and started running my fingers through my hair. But I was wondering how the hair stylist working on me didn't notice the dye all over my face? Also, my curls, if you can call them that - turned out horrible with tons of frizz on the top of my head, I absolutely hated the way my hair turned out, total waste of money and time. I walked out spending $125 on a single color process, deep conditioning, styling and a hair product - way too much if you ask me for how things turned out. I understand these people are in training and I get that. The prior hair stylist who worked on my hair at this salon did a great job, but she graduated and suggested this newer gal. I trusted the process, but the process didn't turn out well at all. I will say the new gal who worked on me was kind. I am sure she was trying to do her best, but when dealing with someone's hair the basics like being removing all the dye out of someone's hair so it doesn't stick to their face and remain gooey in their hair is imperative - I needed to really wash my hair when I got home, also knowing how to do basic curls in someone's hair should be fundamental - the gal who worked in me had no idea how to curl hair at all. For those wondering why I didn't say anything during my visit, when I looked in the mirror and saw what a mess my hair was, I just wanted to get out and leave and just never come back, which I won't. Then when I went to the register to get rung up it took forever as I was standing their waiting because they were training another lady how to use the register. I believe I realized while I appreciate the lower price point on service at the salon academy, and understand most of the people working their are in training, it's simply not worth it to me to work with people in training who don't really know what they are doing yet, with the risk of messing up my hair and then walking out unhappy. I would rather pay a higher premium working with an experienced stylist knowing I am walking out feeling good with nice hair. I will not be returning to the salon Acedemy in Georgetown.

I've never felt unsafe on campus, this is by far nicest looking campus; Other then Leander campus (which is to far). I'd highly recommend anyone starting college to come here I've had zero issues. I have had teachers that help me so much, I mean they go above and beyond to help you understand what they are teaching, they care. I dropped out of highschool 4 times and had to get my ged. This school has made the transition back to schooling completely easy and fun. As a normal student who has average grades and a average life this place is A1+ some. They then have the texas state campus nextdoor. I mean they for real made going to college alot easier. I couldn't thank the staff enough and the teachers! :)
