I have issue with the service department of Brent Brown Toyota. We bought a used Chevy Traverse from them just last summer. On our first test drive, we noticed a rattleing/vibration coming from the front wheel well area. We brought this to the attention of Brent Brown, and their mechanics looked at the car, but told us it was "not a problem". (one worker even suggested that he thought the rattle was the windshield wiper motor) We accepted their word. 1 month later, we had a back tire blow out. We had purchased a road hazard warrenty with the car, so we went in to get the tire replaced. I pulled into the service bay and told them what I needed, the mechanic who was helping me said, "We don't have anything like that"! I had to pull out the paperwork and PROVE I knew what I was talking about. The mechanic still made a phone call then reluctanly admited that they do indeed have a road hazard policy. (Never throw away paperwork!!!) they told me to come back the next day because they needed to bring the right size tire in. I returned the following day, and waited over 2 hours for a simple tire change. Not a good first impression. Jump ahead now about 8 months to just last week. The whole front end suspension on our car had gone out. Going over bumps, the car would continue to bounce. We took the car back into Brent Brown, and left it to get fixed. they had it all day, and during the day, they called my wife telling her all the parts that were "falling apart in their hands" and would need to be replaced. $1000 dollars worth. My wife went to pick up the car, paid the bill and drove maybe 50 yards before noticing that there was still a major problem (steering was off, tires weren't responding properly and there was a grinding sound) We took it back immediately before they closed for the day, explained to a mechanic on duty what was going on. He did a quick test drive around the parking lot and agreed that something was wrong. He told us to leave the car over night, and first thing in the morning HE would check it out and then call us. The next day came, and I was anxious because I was going out of town early the next morning and needed the car. We hadn't heard anything by 2pm so I called Brent Brown and asked to speak to the mechanic who said he'd take care of the car. Turns out he had the day off and wasn't even there!! So I asked to speak to someone who could tell me what was going on with my car. This resulted in being on hold for over 1/2 hour! finnaly the receptionist said everyone was busy, so she'd have someone call me. Another hour + passed by with no word, so I drove over to Brent Brown to get to the bottom of things. Turns out nothing had been done, and in fact, no one had any idea what was going on! Some phone calls were made to the mechanic who was suppose to be doing the work, and after a small amout of time it was decided that we needed a front end alignment at another additional cost of $100. I am happy to report that the car is running fine now, and that rattle we've complained about from the very begining, is now gone. Obviously it was part of this major fix. My concern is with the paper work given to us after the first "fix". It clearly says the mechanic on duty test drove the car to make sure the fix was complete. Did he lie about this? because obviously it was NOT fixed, or more disturbing, did he test drive it and ignore the issues and grinding? either way, not a good impression again. My hope is, this car needed these repairs from the begining, as stated before, we brought the rattle to the attention of several employees right at the start. Less than a year later, $1,100 was spent to fix it. (And the ratlle is now gone) Brent Brown should have done these repaires before selling the car, I'm hoping they will acknowledge this and at least refund half the costs we just spent to repair the car. Again, this was a problem we informed the car dealership about right from the begining. Thanks for reading this review, and I will post again after Brent Brown has a chance to review this incident. read more
