They didn't lose it so I went back and got a suit jacket tailored, sleeves were taken in. Work was decent and the price wasn't bad. I also brought my SO's dress to get tailored and it was a more complex take in on the sleeve. Also decent work! Sometimes you have to wait a bit for someone to help with measurements if there's someone else already there. I lost my dry cleaning ticket but luckily they were able to get it from my phone number. But don't lose your tailoring ticket... I don't think they track it the same way. Basically don't be me and lose the ticket ever and you won't have problems.

I have been bringing my work coat here for awhile now. For some reason I manage to get coffee in…read morethe weirdest places.... I blame my coworkers for spilling coffee on my butt since I can't figure out how to I could possibly do that.... Anyhow, the nice lady behind the counter takes note of all the coffee stains on my jacket when I bring it in and MAGICALLY they're all gone when I pick it up! Dry cleaning my coat is less than $5 and I have the choice of starch or no starch. Pretty nice! I've tried both and I prefer the starch. Since the lady always does a quality job on my coat, I entrusted her to a dress from Neimann Marcus that I bought for a wedding. I was a little nervous about bringing in the dress, but I figured since I got the dress on sale for $300, I could take the risk. As it turns out, the dress came back perfectly and it had an intricate lace looking inset and all that fancy crap - but it was dry cleaned with no problems at all. So, being that the coat and the dress only cost about $11, I'd say she's got a VERY competitive rate. The door to the place is kinda weird - I still can't figure out how to open it, but she comes to let me in as soon as I walk up. It's got a weird locking mechanism, maybe for her safety since the area is a bit industrial looking.... Anyhow, put your initial responses aside about the look and the feel of this place. I guarantee you'll be happy with your items. I'm done spending a ton of money on those other dry cleaning places near rice village. Yikes. Don'tcha hate when you spend more money on dry cleaning over the years than you did on the dress itself? If that's you, then go to Fine Cleaners. But just so you know - CASH ONLY - but that's ok cuz her prices are low.

Over the years there has been many examples of the quality and commitment to customer care; but my favorite example is the story of the Adolfo Dress. " I had purchased an original Adolfo Haute Couture dress in Paris, for which I had saved for many years. Then in 1990 with my new husband in tow, we attended a society event. I thought that I looked 'fantabulous' in my Adolfo! That evening, I placed said dress in the laundry basket marked: CLEANERS! No one knows why that time my husband decided to help with house work. He did the laundry! YES, you guessed! He machine washed the dress with everything else and then threw all of it in the dryer! My shock was so total, I could not speak! The dress (Black & White) looked like a Dalmatian who had been steam rolled! I took it to Collegiate Cleaners. Greg H heard my story, looked at the mess I presented to him....thought....and said, "We'll give it a try, but I don't think we can save it, but we will at least....try!" About two weeks later he called and said they had done their best and for me to come and see. With trepidation I went......I was stunned! I was again, speechless! The dress looked like it did brand new! No trace of the colors bleeding, no spots no shrinkage - brand new! They had literally hand worked the whole garment! I knew that they cared about their customers and the service that was given was superior. Most of all, it was done right there on the premises and not sent somewhere to get lost like luggage and dryer socks! I never did tell my husband that the dress was saved. In his quilt he was willing to buy me new things....and I was willing to receive them! Gollegiate Cleaners have always given me more than I have asked for. They have been responsive to my needs, special requests and always treated me with courtesy and respect. They have been there since 1947 and will be there 2047 - They are that good!

I've been coming to Village Cleaners for quite some time now and they've always done a great job…read morewith my dry cleaning. However, I recently learned they've increased their prices and that definitely has me feeling some type of way. I've taken all kinds of clothing here and they've consistenly gotten the job done. Depending on how early you drop your clothes off, they usually have your items ready the same day. Not only are they good with clothes, but they do great work with comforters too. I've had my queen size comforter cleaned here a few times and was very satisfied with the results. I had a couple spots on my comforter and they were able to get them right out, all for $17.99. Can't be mad at that! But here's where I have to throw some shade- this recent price increase? Not the business. Especially considering all the other cleaners in the area don't charge half of what Village is now charging. When the hispanic lady manager informed me of the the price change after I'd recently dropped off a load of clothes, I was thinking "whoa!"- and for a second, almost reconsidered my decision to leave my items. Get this: Blazers/Shirts are now $4.50, Skirts/Sweaters- $4.50, Pants/Ties- $3.75, Jackets- $4.99, and Dresses- $6.99 and up! Wtf? It's not so bad if you have a piece or two, but if you're bringing in a load, that can get expensive! $6.99 and up for dresses? Ummm, no. Because of this I recently tried another cleaners in the area whose prices start at $1.50 per clothing item. I had clothes at Village Cleaners and clothes at the new cleaners, just to compare the quality of work vs. price. My Village Cleaners tab was $30.67 for about 4 or 5 pieces. I had the same amount of items at the other cleaners- who did a fantastic job by the way, and my tab was $7.57. That's a $23 difference! I guess it's no secret that I'll be frequenting the new spot a lot more often. Clearly, Village Cleaners is doing the most with their prices. I can't say I won't come back here ever again, because they get the job done, BUT what I can say is I won't be bringing a bulk of clothes here on a regular when I can go somewhere else and get a bigger bang for my buck. Start sending me some coupons and I may reconsider! Just sayin.
