I still re-read all notes from Stacey regularly because it is so practical. It was a great course. Stacey is the best in this arena. The value of this course is not just the notes & decks. She is definitely talking something can be found in many good books because she didn't invent them. The key is she re-organized, re-packaged the material and present in a way that it is so easy for the audience to digest, to understand, to absorb and to use those learnt knowledge back in our daily life. That's amazingly helpful. She used a lot of great examples to elaborate & explain something I used to think it's unresolvable that I blamed to my personality or my mom every time. It's not that all of the information is bad, let me tell you how our experience went. They had a booth at the 2016 AAHA conference offering their practice management services. After listening to what they had to offer, we signed up for their "Team Builder" seminar and the "New Client Builder" workshop. The client builder was a series of 3 webinars with only the most superficial and small amount of information on how to attract clients. Most of the seminar was on learning the vocabulary that is used to teach L. Ron Hubbard's business methods. Unlike most practice management education, they don't try to explain things in a simple and understandable way. They first require you to learn their ridiculous terminology. In a nutshell, this was a complete wast of time. Especially when you consider the lost productivity of not treating patients. Next came the trip to Seattle for their Team Builder seminar. The morning of the fist day was spent going over the same information that was presented in the Client Builder webinars. We broke for lunch and were taken out as a large group to, in my opinion, size up the various practices to see if they were good candidates for a large consulting package sales pitch. We asked them for some specific pointers over lunch, but were responded to each time with "to get that answer, you will need to sign up for one of our consulting packages". The second half of the day consisted of leaning more vocabulary terms. At the end of the class, we were offered to be taken to dinner. We accepted, knowing that this was were the real sales pitch would be delivered. At dinner we were asked what we thought of the seminar and if we were interested in retaining them as our practice consultants. We responded that we basically have learned nothing so far and that we did not think we had received any value for our $4000. The consultant told us that to get the type of information we were looking for, we would need to buy a consulting package. We asked how much that was and were told their basic package starts at $60,000. After hearing that we told him that give our experience thus far, we were not interested in a financial commitment of that magnitude. Upon hearing this, the consultants got the attention of the wait staff and asked them to bring him the bill for his drink. He handed them a few bucks in cash and walked out the door. We were dumbfounded that he skipped out on the check after asking us to dinner! We had only ordered one drink each and a single appetizer to share so the total was only $80. What type of cheese ball is willing to make themselves look so pathetic for a mere $80? Now ask yourself, would you be willing to pay $60,000 for advise from a consultant that skips out on an $80 check? The individual that took us to dinner was not Joel Parker himself, it was one of his cronies.
