Our air conditioner was not working and we asked to have it fixed. They replaced one hose and did an Evac & Recharge. The hose cost $64.80 but labor was $388.70. Less than a month later the a/c stopped working. It was not fixed. We took it back and they said two more hoses were leaking and to replace them, add Freon, and evac/recharge would cost us another $600 plus. I was flabbergasted. I asked why those hoses weren't replaced then? The receptionist said the person that worked on the vehicle was not properly trained then she gave the phone to someone else. He said the car was old and hoses bust. I asked why weren't all the hoses replaced since he knew the car was old. He didn't answer that question but said they weren't responsible AND it would have cost the same amount ($600) if they did it then. I called him on that and said maybe it might have taken an hour more plus parts but not anywhere $600 more. He said take it somewhere else. Well yeah, they might do it for less than $600.00. DON'T take your vehicle to this place that takes advantage of two widows.

Fast forward to today. My husband ran over something large and hard at 70 mph. Hit was so hard it popped the needle off of the speedometer in the dash. Managed to get it into see Joshua. Wasn't good news but he gave me 2 options. First was the minimum that needed to be done. Second was an additional item that really should be done. All said and done, more than I wanted to spend but I still feel he was very fair in his pricing. Been driving the van for a few days now and am very happy with the results. Plus, I have the peace of mind knowing I won't be chewing up my tires every few thousand miles. Just as a side note. I did research Cortez Car Care and discovered something amazing. They have been members of the BBB for 23 yrs this year and have not had one single complaint lodged against them in all that time. In any auto related field, especially repair/maintenance, that is a record to be very proud of. Just tells me that they are doing things right and have customer satisfaction very high on their priority list.

They are professional, keep you informed every step of the way, do great work, for a fair price, stand behind their work, and most of all are honest. I have spoken with the owner more than once, as it is family owned, and he is usually there. But one time that I spoke with him that stood out to me that they were different. My stepson's power steering stopped working. I called and I was about to have it towed in as it was parked at a restaurant. The owner got on the phone with me and asked me what year and model the car was. I told him, he asked me if the car had driven through any heavy puddles. I told him it had been raining, so I assumed so. He told me that model is notorious for the sensors getting wet and causing issues with the rack and pinion steering. He said, let it sit for a couple hours and dry out a bit. It should resolve the problem, and it did. He didn't have to tell me that. He could've let me have it towed in and just let it sit and dry and tell me he fixed it and taken me for a ride, but he didn't. That's honesty. I highly recommend this place to all my friends and family, and to anyone else who reads this review.
