ORANGE is a rip-off. On our Sept. trip to Paris, we purchased two "ORANGE HOLIDAY" sim cards at the airport. The salesperson assured us all we had to do was put these new sim cards into our phones, but no, he would not do it for us. And also told us the special little tool for accessing the SIM port on our phones was included in the envelope (it was not). We attempted to install both SIM cards, neither of which worked. Finally got help from a Lyca (sp?) store in Paris, and purchased NEW SIM cards from another carrier, which worked great. I haven't yet found a customer service email online to get a refund. Initial appointment to install fiber optic internet, technician arrives hangs around for 1.5 hours and leaves claiming he needs another technician to do the job this despite having another technician with him on site. It was clearly too much work running the cable so he left. Called to reschedule and made 3 appointments all of which the technician never showed up. I signed up for a mobile internet plan. 6 days later they were still processing my request. When contacted to follow up, I was told rudely to be patient. After 6 days, they still couldn't even tell me when my line would be open or when anything would be processed. What a joke this company is nowadays. Even going into what they call their "boutiques", you have to wait 48 hours before they can process any request, let alone opening a line. I cancelled my order, and got a line opened within 20 minutes with RegloMobile.fr by E.Leclerc backed by the SFR 5G network for a third of the asking price of what appear to be more of a little dry mandarine rather than a nice juicy orange. Absolutely pathetic and condescending interactions from beginning to end, not a single positive note to add to my dealings with this out-of-touch, out of reality pseudo 21st century telecom company. I am based in Switzerland for 3 months but am traveling around Europe. Read all the eSIM reviews and ended up buying an Orange Holiday data and voice eSIM. Everything installed fine and the eSIM worked as soon as I arrived in Europe as expected. I received an email saying I would have to submit passport info to keep the eSIM activated. I did all that online and had no issues. Calls, texts, etc. including to the US all work as expected. The challenge I ran into was trying to extend the time on the SIM, which is valid for 14 days initially. Tried to do it online and Orange Travel site kept telling me it couldn't find my account. I tried to call Orange, but their menu system is entirely in French. I do not speak French well and the system disconnected me. I tried contacting them online. Two days later, someone wrote back to me telling me how to call them - the same line that is French-only. I actually ended up figuring out how to solve my own problem, added time to the eSIM and am continuing to use it. So, the middle-of-the road review is because the eSIM works great. The customer service is absolutely useless. I received an email asking me to write a review of the service. The form was in French, which I translated in my browser, but when I put in all the information, the submit button never activated. Thanks to Google Translate, I wrote them a "glowing" bad review in French and emailed it to them. In short, the eSIM works (if your phone supports one). You can buy it in advance in the US and install it, activating it when you arrive in Europe. It is cheaper than my home service roaming charges. However, IF YOU NEED SUPPORT, I would suggest finding another company or, as some reviewers did, go to the Orange Travel store in person. At April 28, arriving at the airport Charles de Gaulle, I went to the RELAY shop and bought a Orange Holiday SIM card, a 20 GB package, paying 40 euros, number +33630316927. I installed it in my phone, Sim card started works, I liked it and I bought a second SIM card for my wife, number +33630316843. Both sims worked exactly a day. The next day (04/29/2019) they stopped working, a text message arrived that I had to go through authorization and send my passport to the website of the Orange.Fr. we did it, but the sims did not work. We turned to the Orange shop at 125 Av. Des Champs-Élysées, they gave us the number we were supposed to call, we started dialing, we had to wait 15 minutes for communication. After the operators began to take and transfer calls to each other, we were given the right operator. we explained our problem, she said that she needed a person who speaks French. We again came to the store Orange 125 Av. des Champs-Élysées, waited in line and gave the manager, who began to speak French and explain our problem and what to do. ORANGE BROKE MY PHONE!!! I have an international phone that I have used around the world. When I was in Paris, I got a SIM card and the service was fine. About a year later I was in Thailand. I bought a sim card there and my phone asked for the PIN/PUK number for my Orange SIM Card. I didn't have it. I spent 4 hours on chat with customer support using google translate. After speaking with 5 different people, I learned that Orange deactivated the number so they couldn't retrieve the PIN code. ORANGE BROKE MY PHONE!!! Why a carrier would EVER lock a phone into its network is beyond my comprehension. The worst part is, after all the time and different people I was frustrated. I told the person this and they quit the chat on me. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! It is my hope that this review will cost them money. First they aggressively make you open your bags. And the security men smelled awful. For the life of me I cannot understand why folks refuse to use soap when it is cheaper than bottled water. Because I had bought this sim in the past I knew what I was looking for and he copied my passport(they have to) then pay 40 Euro. He handed me the sim kit and said thank you and bye. Wait a minute. I know(and he knew) in order for this sim card to work you have to change the Mobile Network access point name in your phone. I asked him why he was not going to change this as he knew it had to be done. He rudely said that I had to walk all the way to the back and have them do it. Then I rudely said to him well if he knew that why didn't he say that in the first place instead of trying to cast me off like an unwanted fish on a line. He stood there with a stupid look on his face. I walked to the back and the man knew immediately what needed to be done and he did it in less then 30 seconds. So if you come here for a sim DO NOT leave without them changing the access point in your phone. If you dont do this the phone will only be able to make and receive calls but you WILL NOT get data-which is what most of us are after. Also be sure to know how to get to the access point setting in your phone because you may have to change it back. Frankly I would never return here and buy anything. I came here to purchase a SIM card for my ipad mini so that my mom can use 3G data anywhere in France without worrying about expensive data charges from my American phone company. The staff sold me 8€ SIM card with 20€ prepaid 2.5GB of data and installed it for me. I went there on weekday so the line was short and the whole process only took 5 min. You will need to bring your passport. The reception was pretty good, and my mom was happy with the data speed. With the Orange prepaid data plan, my mom was able to navigate around the town on her own when I had to leave her behind in Paris alone. I'd definitely recharge my SIM card with Orange again next time I'm in France! read more

Came to this shop because we were close by. I purchased a SIM card for my iPhone 5. (I have Verizon service in the states) 40€ for 120 minutes talk time worldwide, 1000 texts, and 1 GB of Internet data at 3G speed. The queue was short and only took me 15 minutes to purchase and have them install the SIM card. The phone recognized the SIM card and I was again connected to the digital world. I received a text message from Orange welcoming me to their network and I was out of the store with my wife to explore Paris. The Internet worked fine and all data products worked also. When we got back to our apartment that has WIFI, I tried to send some texts back to the states. I tried to send several texts to people who I had texted while I was in Italy, those texts would not go through. For some reason the settings might have changed when the SIM card was activated. I could no longer send any texts either using the cellular net work or via WIFI. So yesterday I drop by the same boutique to see if they could help me. I get sent to the technician who seemed to understand my problem after I showed him what the problem was. He had trouble figuring out how to fix the issue so all he did was reset the cellular network and say that I could not send texts to the US because it's a different network. NOT VERY HELPFUL AT ALL DO NOT USE ORANGE FOR YOUR SIM CARD!!!! Try some other cellular provider! read more

I came in an hour ago for reloading my prepaid Internet. It so happens that they needed their landline to activate my additional minutes. Unfortunately, an old lady had been using their landline for the past hour according to the lady cashier. They said they only have one landline and they couldn't help me till the lady is off the hook. I found this ridiculous. There was no effort at all from them. An arrogant male employee with curly hair on sweaters came in to just accommodate the persons behind me. But when asked if there was anything he could do to help, he just said no. We went to the store looking for a SIM card and were told that a passport was required in order to purchase the SIM (which we did not have as it was in our hotel). We asked what time the store closed and were told 8pm. We returned to the store at 7 with our passports and approached three staff members (they were all together chatting). When we asked for a SIM card the woman working told us that this service was unavailable and that we had to come back tomorrow. We mentioned that we were in earlier and were told to come back before 8pm. She rudely told us we could not by a SIM card. We asked if they could tell us the available options of what SIM cards were available in order to make a decision as to whether to come back for a third time. Readers, learn from my experience: For travels in Europe, I bought the "Orange Holiday" package in France, and was told that I would have 2 hours of talktime, 10Gigs of data on my mobile for 2 weeks. Not a bad deal, I thought. I was told explicitly at the boutique that if I recharged my Sim card online, the "credit" (2 hours talk time and 10 GIGS) would be valid beyond the 2 weeks. Forward in time 1 week 6 days: I log onto orange.fr from the Netherlands to recharge my account. It doesn't work (I get an unspecified "erreur technique, veuillez ressayer"). I then call Orange, and am told to dial either "224" or use #123#. I do it. Those don't work (224 yields a recording - "wrong number" and #123# gives me "erreur d'execution"). I then manage to recharge my phone on Orange.com (not orange.fr) for 10Euros. I call orange again to ask if my talk time and phone time are extended, but am then told that the 10 euros only bought me 1 Gig of credit, but that the original 2 hours talktime/10gigs would still expire the next day (i.e. at the end of the original 2 weeks). I was told to get a "rechargement classique" at an Orange boutique in France. It was not explained on orange.com that I was only buying gigs of data, and the rep was not able to offer any explanation or help as to why I cannot recharge my phone through Orange.fr outside of France. Why do I need to physically go to the location to renew the usage on my mobile wifi unit? Why is there not a central phone number that I can call and give my cc number to who will take care of it? For that matter, why are there not land lines at every location? The way they run their business is incomprehensible to me! When I went to an Orange store in Nice, I was told for a SIM card with a 14 day 10G plan, the cost is $14. After activation, I was changed $40 and told $14 is only for a SIM card without any plan. The worst thing is there are certain local (France) numbers were blocked to call. The mobile signal was disconnected from time to time. I purchased 2 SIM cards one for Galaxy phone and one for iPad. My requirement was mostly for data and the sims worked well in Paris...total cost was 90 euro for the both with extra data. As an older single lady traveller I rely on data to be able to find my way about and to order uber transport ,so that I have a record of the drivers and costs. After a week I went back and asked what to do to have sufficient service in other European countries, even though I'd been told the sims would work throughout Europe I wanted to make sure, especially re the data and Internet. I purchased an additional $60 euro top ups for the two sims under advice from the shop assistance. At no time did the service work in Amsterdam or Belgium. when I went back to complain the guy looked surprised and sent me on a pointless track to another store for technical help. At the next store Inwas told that this was not a tech problem and I needed to go back to the first store, because I'd been sold the wrong kind of top up and get a refund. Total run around. my wife and I got sim cards for our phones in Paris - 1st we were the second people in the store when it opened but it took 20 minutes for 2 of the staff to finish their cigarettes before they would come in and help us. We asked for a 30 day service that would cover all of the EU. Got the sims got our numbers and we went on our way. The day we left Paris to Barcelona we found out we could not call each other, could text but not call. Got to Barcelona and went to the FIRST orange store and they were nice and tried to help but could not solve our problem and said we had to go to the main store. We did and AFTER 1.5 hours of waiting for the staff to stop talking to each other and serve the store full of customers and talking to another couple who had the same problem and were told that the Spain orange and French orange were not the same company and they could do nothing, we left I tried orange's internet chat - did not work - tried to call them but got number out of service - facebooked them and received no reply but kept getting text in French which were useless to me.
