IT'S TRAVEL SEASON, BAYBEE! I've been using Travel WIFI for many of my recent trips last year. I honestly have never had a problem with this company as they are so responsive, wonderful customer service and the device is very reliable! Let me admit that using their device truly helps from getting billed a huge amount for roaming charges from a mobile carrier. I've used travel WIFI for over 3+ of my trips out of the country and the process to sign up has been very easy. I have used them to go to Mexico, Canada, Asia, Italy, and Trinidad. I usually go to their website here: https://travelwifi.com/ and enter the country that I will be visiting. I go for the basic purchase and three days before my trip, I receive a UPS package with my device. On top of that, I even get a free return package to send the device back. During my stay, I get continued emails checking in to see if I am enjoying the device and asking if I have a question. A few days before the device is supposed to be returned, I received an email informed me that I could keep the de4vice if I wanted to for a fee. Not really needed in my situation, but nice that they give this as an option. The prices are very reasonable and not too much. The device charges in about 2 hours and last on a good charge for over 10 hours. I also like that multiple devices can use the WIFI box simultaneously. I can agree with some of the Yelpers about the spotty service although the device says there is the internet, there were times where it wasn't working. But honestly, it was not the fault of the device so I can't blame it on the company. There are times where it will take long periods of time searching for a signal, maybe it was the location of the places that made it spotty. In all honesty, it's a WIFI box, don't have high expectations to get service 100% of the time. If you lower your standards, I promise you won't be disappointed. I will continue to use this company to order a WIFI box when I am going to visit any country. **Make sure they give you the new devices; the old devices don't work and the chargers don't work for the device. ** read more

I used this service while I was in Paris, 9/10. You can buy international phones, SIM cards, travel wifi, and cell phone goodies. They're at the airport and great locations with in the city. The charge lasts about 6-7 hours, and they charge reasonably quickly. The service will buffer though if you're in a busy area with a lot of folks on wifi. I found them through an online search, and had amazing service throughout my trip. You're able to go LIVE and carry online conversation very well on an unlimited plan. I had a bit of a problem when it came to the ins and outs though. Once I'd already purchased a SIM card (non refundable, this wasn't told to me), and came in to buy a cell phone- the options were pretty rough and slow for a high price. Not helping much. So after being in the store on the Opera for about 2+ hours waiting they offered me unlimited service for the 5GB price. (Because of the problems I was having with the service over that time) I accepted and went about my business, in about a day and a half the wifi was barely working. I called the 800 number through Skype and they explained the run around. All of the plans are "unlimited" (Also not explained to me)- but after the 5GB (or whatever you've purchased) it slows way way down. I was under the impression it was truly unlimited (which was what I was told by the person at the Opera location, that he'd bump me to the unlimited plan hence the confusion on my end) So after discussing with the agent that this hadn't been explained - and the trouble I'd been having- they were very very understanding and helpful offered me the actual unlimited plan. I called with any questions or concerns and they were stellar. Now that I understand how it all works, they'll be my one stop shop each time. Thanks for your help!! Loving this place. read more

Salesperson was helpful and I was able to get what I needed quickly. Could be a bit pricey but worth it for the convenience!

I have the newest device, the Sapphire T2, and it was expensive. The wifi plans vary greatly according to the country you're in and only last for a specified number of days (7, 14, or 30 days). This is really inconvenient when traveling to multiple countries. Of course, they have a Global Pass but the cost is exorbitant. Also, the battery life states that it lasts for 12 hours, but after using it for maybe 3 hours it was almost dead. Also also, one time I noticed it depleted data even though I was on another network. So every time I'm not using it, I turn it off to prevent it from stealing data from me which also helps with the dismal battery life. Great idea, but needs a lot of work. read more
I rented the Sapphire Travel Wifi for my recent trip to London and Paris. Upon arriving, it worked for maybe 2 hours, then stopped working. I figured maybe the battery was dead, so I charged it for a few hours, but it didn't work. I spoke to their customer service, who said I should charge it overnight. I left it charged overnight, but it still didn't work. Unfortunately they had no other solutions for me and that it might be the device itself. For the rest of my trip, I had to pay my cell phone service a daily charge to use roaming, which was very expensive. Travelwifi asked me to ship it back and they'll refund me once they receive it. I returned their device over a month ago, and I still have not received my refund even after multiple attempts to contact them. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY! read more

I PAID FOR NOTHING first, wifi connection was not what i expected. (in san diego, U.S.) second, ran out of data so quickly compared to other device) i wanted to cancel but it was too late so i used. THEN the device was stolen last day when i tried to return. i called and emailed to the service center but she said i will be charged. i should've rented other company, such a bad experience. i found a company even when it's stolen, you won't be charged. BE CAREFUL!! i rented one in the U.S not Paris. i needed to write a review but couldn't find a place to write, i did here. read more

SHORT VERSION: Rented a unit in March 2022. Returned the unit after a week stay to the same location I rented from. Arbitrarily charged my credit card $150.00 despite having photographic evidence that I dropped it off at the same location. Please whatever you do, DO NOT rent one of their units!!! LONG VERSION: I knew from the beginning this company was not going to provide great service. Upon landing in CDG airport, I followed the instructions that Travelwifi provided. They specifically write to pick up from Terminal 2A. There is no such kiosk in terminal 2A. I attempted to find help and upon finding a security officer called the phone number with no response. Finally picked up the unit from a Tourism Information desk. Initially the staff person did not know what I was talking about. The staff had to set up the unit which took an additional 15 minutes. After having the unit, I learned within the next 15 minutes that there was a hard data cap on the unit. I called an Uber to get to our hotel and lost service for the rest of the day midway through the car ride. During our vacation we relied on Starbucks and Cafe Wifi. This service was awful. At the end of our trip, I dropped off the unit at the same Tourism Information and took a photograph just in case. Got home and 6 months later get notified that I did not return the unit??? Why would I want to keep a unit that barely offers any type of signal? I told the customer service team that I returned the unit and sent them the picture I took as proof. Instead they charged my credit card for $150.00 without my authorization. Brings the total that they STOLE from me to $206.29 Not worth the headache whatsoever. read more

It's truly a life saver to have TeavelWifi with youwhen travelling in Paris. This location is centrally located with friendly English speaking sales persons. The rate was very affordable and the device never gave me any problems except the battery lasted only 12 hours or so. The return was super easy at an information desk in terminal 2. read more
Disclaimer: this is my 2nd time renting mobile wifi while traveling. The prior time was in Japan, so I am comparing to that: Pros: -Decent speed (slower than my Japan one, but fast enough to stream video) -Good battery life Cons: -Kept losing connection, which can get annoying. I used it to work on my train ride from Paris to nice, and it lost connection many times. It made working quite difficult. Also it actually would randomly lose connection while in Nice. -Cost to ship and return (3.5 euros each way). Tip: bring a extra usb battery back for really heavy/ long use read more

Excellent service. Saves us hundreds of dollars in roaming and data fees as we travelled from Paris to Rome and throughout the south east UK. We kept the device charged overnight and it worked very, very well. Keep expectations realistic; it's not a silver bullet. When we were in areas with really poor cell service it was hard to get a connection, but that was not the fault of the device. One small refinement; we reserved for a Sunday and thought to ask if the office would be open. It wasn't, which is quite understandable, but it would have been nice if we had been provided office hours instead of having to ask. But when we went to pick up the device, the team was very helpful and welcoming. Highly recommended. We would use this service again without hesitation. read more

The hotspot itself was fine. The problem was returning it. There are tons of yellow mailboxes in Paris, so I figured the process would be easy. Wrong! I went to a mailbox across the street from Gare du Nord. The return envelope only fit halfway through the slot because the charger was too bulky. The slot must've been a good inch or so, but it wasn't big enough for the package. I had to catch a train to London in an hour, so I didn't have time to look for a post office. I was livid. Now I had to take the envelope stateside and pay for postage when it should've been free. What an inconvenience. They should warn you that standard yellow mailboxes will not accept their hotspots. 11/26/18 Edit: I received an apology and a full refund. I am now satisfied with the outcome and changed my rating accordingly. read more

I absolutely loved using Travel Wifi during my stay in Paris (6 days). I picked up the device from the CDG airport (didn't reserve because I wasn't sure how long it would take me and my fiance to get off the plane) and started using it immediately when we found out that our main mode of transportation going into the city (RER) wasn't running for the day. Also, the connection speed was fantastic in and out of the city (Giverny and Versailes). When we were done using the device, we dropped it off at Travel Wifi's office. Super convenient. Tip: Bring an extra battery charging stick or shut off the device when you don't need wifi. Highly recommend using this over buying an international data plan. read more

What a great service! This was my first trip to France and my wife and I wanted to ensure we could connect to our family back home. This worked perfectly! Our first stop was Sancerre and while the wifi worked it occasionally dropped and ate the battery fast. In Paris, it worked like a charm! You forget how much you rely on Google until you can't access it. I would have given it 5 stars but finding the location in an unfamiliar airport was difficult and the woman at the desk didn't seem to have my information. When I showed her the confirmation email she asked for an order number which wasn't listed in that email. It was eventually sorted out much to the dismay of our driver who was anxious to get on the road to beat traffic. But that's another story... Tip: I recommend bringing an extra USB battery for longer life. I did and we had wifi all day! read more

A must for travelers. I use Hippocket Wifi for traveling to Athens, Greece; Sicily, Italy; Naples, Italy; and Barcelona, Spain and it work superbly. Great device that was waiting at my hotel for my wife and I, with a return package inside to send it back. My wife and I use the device mostly for directional help for getting around the above cities by using Apple or Google Maps. I recommend turning off certain settings on your phone to avoid using too much data. Change your email settings to "Fetch", and change your Apps to only be accessible "While Using". Also if you don't use all the 1gb in a day, then it rolls over to the next day. read more
it was such a good find! Found this place when I googled "international wifi in Paris", then the Yelp review came up, so I contacted the shop when I arrived at Paris, they had travel wifi available right away. The price is really reasonable and it made our stay a lot easier. The two guys work here are really friendly and helpful, we just paid for the 5 days of rental, then sent the device in a ready prepared envelop, dropped in the post box on the day of departure. Super easy. It saved us a lot of money from international roaming and calls. read more

After my experience I am shocked at the overall positive reviews. My experience was atrocious . I used Travel WiFi during my recent trip to Great Britain this summer. I ordered it late so it was delivered to my hotel in Edinburgh. The delivery and setup process were very simple and intuitive. But afterwards, the problems started. To make a long story short , it just didn't work. It always connected and always showed as WiFi connected but it didn't work. There were rare times on/off when it worked, usually slowly but most of the time it just didn't work. I have exchanged multiple emails with Travel WiFi. Almost all of the ones from me said it didn't work. The ones from them would say that their technicians did something remotely and to try again - this happened over and over during a course of 10 days. But nothing worked. I would say it didn't work at least 90 % of the time. I don't know what I paid for but it certainly wasn't for comfort and use of travel internet. I dropped it in the mailbox to return a day earlier because I got tired of carrying that useless piece of junk with me. This is an atrocious service and should not be used. read more

Sometimes things just work, and the Travel Wifi did just that. Was at the Hotel when we checked in and worked great the whole trip. We charged it at night. Think you'll use free wi-fi during your France trip? Forget about it! Non-existent in France, because 4G and LTE are so widespread and inexpensive there's no infrastructure for free wi-fi. Travel Wifi was the PERFECT SOLUTION to my dilemma this trip. Overall, pretty cheap for unlimited data at LTE/4G speeds. Superb customer service for anglophones. Delivered to my hotel on the day of my arrival. Dead simple to operate. 2/3s the size of my mobile, so extremely convenient to pocket. Zero problems. 100% solution! The only caveat...the hotspot battery lasts 5-6 hours, so you'll need to do a full recharge mid-way through long days. Either a mid-afternoon pit stop back at hotel, or carry the charger (which is same size as an iPhone charger) in your bag. It might be cheaper to buy a prepaid SIM card for your unlocked mobile. But a friend did that on this trip, and it was nothing but headache for her. Didn't work for the first two days in a six day trip. Travel WiFi worked right out of the box. I will always pay a small premium for that kind of dead simple, hassle-free, 100% solution. read more

Wow, what a lifesaver this little gadget is! I vacationed in Paris for 10 days and was hoping to use local WiFi spots around the city. However, I also needed WiFi from the airport to the apartment and this is when my travel life changed. I went to the information booth at CDG were Travel WiFi was on display. I purchased it for a day. After my day was completed I reordered it because the freedom and safety I felt navigating a new city with it was totally worth it. I picked it up in their hub in Paris ( I could've gotten it delivered to the apartment but couldn't wait). I would 10/10 recommend! read more

Physical building/location - I'm staying at the opera area in 9th arr and it took less than 30 mins to get to the office on foot - it was easy to locate. The building is being renovated, just go through the fence and go upstairs. They have a shared office, to the left upon entrance. Service - There were 3 guys there, all super friendly, easy-going, and knowledgable. They offered me coffee a few times, and we're happy to chat and answer my questions about their business. Benoit helped me get set up. It was super easy, fast, and the guys there were personable and professional. Product - I read online that Paris Wifi is free and all around the city, but so far, I haven't seen it once. By day 3 in Paris, I got tired of looking for free public wifi, so I decided to go with these guys, and I think it's well worth it. I'm paying £8 per day for UNLIMITED wifi, and can connect up to 10 devices. read more

I purchased a SIM card for €50 from the CDG Airport in Paris upon arriving. I thought I was getting a great deal on unlimited data and calls for 14 days. Everything started off great. The SIM popped right into my phone and worked right away. On day 2 however, the SIM abruptly stopped working. We woke up to no service. When I reached out to Travel Wifi they walked me through brief troubleshooting and ended on "there must be something wrong with the SIM". Very helpful... Their proposed solution was to send me a replacement SIM that will arrive tomorrow. That puts us at without service for 2 days assuming the SIM actually arrives on time. I had to ask twice about a refund only to be offered €7. I'm considering just buying a new SIM at a store and demanding a full refund. Ultimately, I'm just very disappointed. read more

Product works great, but what is really excellent is the 5 star customer service. My WiFi device became faulty in its charging. I contacted customer support via email at about 7:45 pm. This company took care of my problem so quickly that I experienced zero inconvenience. Recommend them very highly! read more

I just recently returned from a 3 week trip to France. I traveled through the Loire and Dordogne regions to Nice. Then back again to Paris. I loved having my own wifi. It was incredibly convenient for maps, checking reviews of restaurants, reading up on historical sites, posting pics, etc. Although all the places I stayed had wifi. It wasn't always reliable. The unit was small and easy to charge. Delivered to my hotel at the beginning of the trip and easy to mail back at the end. A great service well worth the cost. read more

it's my first time traveling in Europe and was worried about local wifi service providers. I am glad that I chose Travel Wifi SIM card, it was easy booking online and picking up at Paris CDG airport, though, the SIM card did not work the first place even though it appeared so. Fortunately I found it out before leaving the airport and got it replaced, ever since it worked just fine, I was able to receive calls and make calls to Canada and US, the plan also covers many Europe countries, we used it in France, Italy, and Netherlands without problems, their support team is helpful as well. read more

I definitely have to give this a two thumbs up. The service/support team were excellent. They were very responsive to my questions before and during our rental of the WiFi device. The device itself had an amazing battery life so that we were able to go a whole day of sightseeing and not have to worry about loosing our connection even with 4 adult's cellphones connected and one teenager that was constantly streaming videos and periscope on social media. The cost of the rental for 20 days (which covered Paris and London) absolutely outweighs the cost of our Canadian cellphone bills if we had to use the cellular services in France and London. We will definitely get this again for our next trip to Europe. read more

The main reason I rented from this group is because you can pick it up pretty much immediately after you get off the plane at CDG. My friends and I were hopping on a train for the countryside right away, so we couldn't go into Paris to find a store and we wanted connection while en route. This was about as easy and convenient as it could get. The prices are all comparable and we never had problems connecting -- even in more remote areas of the country. Dropping off was just as easy -- there are mailboxes in the airport as well in the departures terminal! Thanks so much! read more

Doesn't get any better than this. Impeccable communication (in English) - superior customer service - highly recommend this service. Used this company during our 5 days in Paris last month. Emailed them a bunch of times in advance to ask questions about pickup/return/hotspot dimensions/etc. and was answered quickly each time even though it was definitely not business hours in Paris a few times - they are not 9-5ers who shut up shop and leave you waiting for answers until the next day. We picked up the hotspot at their Paris offices. Their building was being renovated so we made our way through the construction to find their office. Also I think I remember something different about the way the floors were labeled - in the US the first floor is on the ground level and I'm pretty sure the signage or directions specified the first floor but that is what we would consider the second floor as it is up one flight of stairs. Out hotspot was waiting for us (and cookies too!) and instructions were provided by the friendly staffer - but we had just flown in from Tel Aviv where we'd rented our first hotspot for our ten days there from NESmobile and were familiar with the battery life, nightly charging, etc. We had no problems whatsoever during our trip. I had planned ahead and brought battery packs to power my iphone and the hotspot when we were out and about for a long day of touring. We had a fast 4G connection for both our iphones, hubby's ipad, my ipad mini, and both our laptops. No, we didn't drag all that stuff around with us of course, but we ended up using the hotspot in the hotel as well as when out for the day since the hotel's wifi service was not very fast and required us to login constantly. Battery life was right around 5 hours so the battery pack we brought was essential when we didn't return to our hotel until dinnertime. Travel wifi's equipment looked brand new in a cute little box with the charger and a conveniently short charging cable to use with a battery pack. In contrast the one in Israel was definitely older, with no accessories except the AC adapter, had only a 3G connection, and a battery door that slipped occasionally, causing it to shut down. I had emailed Travel wifi in advance to ask about the size to try to plan my travel handbags accordingly. The little hotspot slipped easily into an outside pocket of my Travelon bag without causing a bulge - these things are tiny -about the size of a credit card in length and width but thicker, maybe an inch thick. I had imagined they'd be much bigger so was very pleasantly surprised. Return was effortless - we had been provided with a return package at pickup with a prepaid mailing envelope. We dropped the package in a mailbox at the airport so we had no gaps in wifi access after pickup. We had only paid for the hotspot through the previous day but emailed the company to ask if we could use it the following morning during our trip the airport on the RER train. They were completely accommodating and gracious - as each previous communication had been. Truly a class act. read more

Great overall experience. Very easy to use and most importantly Wifi was strong and consistent. Only concern was delivery for the signature. Travelwifi is what is used for coalition folks serving in Afghanistan. Long story short, it costs 90 dollars a month for less than mediocre connectivity, that constantly has problems, and is hit or miss on working at all. It's a crying shame that this company is allowed to charge the amount that they do to people deployed that just want to video chat with their families, all the while having no intention of providing anything even remotely approaching quality. 0/10 would buy again, there's just literally no other option other than to not talk to your family. read more

During our last trip to France, we were struggling with my iPhone and my Verizon "global plan". Even though we were paying $25 for 100MB/mo. I was using it quickly, and I was being charged an additional $25 every few days! YIKES! Our plan was to rent a car and drive around central France visiting family and friends, and staying in areas less frequented by throngs of tourists. We were worried we would not have phone service when we needed it. Fortunately, my husband had researched Internet access while traveling, found Travel WiFi , and ordered it for our use. We picked it up at the post office at Lyon airport, and we were off! I came to rely totally on our little pocket personal wifi, and it never let me down. I had freedom to use my phone normally without worrying about how many MB'S I was using! We used it worry - free our entire two weeks in France, then as we were preparing to leave for home, we simply returned the equipment in the prepaid postal envelope. We dropped the envelope in the postal box at the airport, and headed to our boarding area. Simple! This trip we ordered Travel WiFi without hesitation. We picked the equipment up at the Travel WiFi office. Nice office, nice location, easily reached by metro and short walk. The people are friendly and happy to see and get to know their clients. They greet you with introductions, handshakes and smiles. We were immediately ordered coffe, tea or water and a delious gourmet cookie. Since we were prepaid and we're previous users, our meeting was short, no problems and we were sent happily on our way. Now I can enjoy my trip and no longer need to worry about my phone! Did I mention, the people we worked with at Travel WiFi were three really cute techie guys? It feels like we've known them awhile, and we can trust them. I highly recommend Travel WiFi. read more
Will directly come to the point. travelling becomes easier when you have access to the internet. We rented the device for 7 days during our visit to France. We reached Paris on 25th of December and their office was closed. And very next morning me and my girl-friend planned to leave for Normandy. Our POC was so nice, that he invited us to his home from where we picked up the device. Great service. Returning the device is also very easy, because they give an pre-paid envelope, you just need to put the device in the envelope and drop it in any of the post boxes and you are done. Easy to use and hassle free. Will recommend 100%. read more

I recently went to France for my best friends wedding and I am so grateful to her that she recommended I get this for our trip out there!!!! This entire trip was supposed to consist of her wedding in France for the first four days then me and my husband taking off on our honeymoon after and traveling to Italy. Because we were going to multiple countries in Europe it was so helpful to have the European package. Unfortunately our flight got canceled to Italy and we stayed in France for an entire 10 days into our honeymoon but this Wi-Fi is absolutely amazing! I never had an issue, I always had signal and service, this saved my data and international fees and there was no drag on the speed as to how many people had connected in to the single Wi-Fi. At most I had maybe five people connected to my Wi-Fi at one time and still had no issues surfing the Internet. Dropping off the Wi-Fi after our trip was unbelievably easy. They give you a little travel pouch for the Wi-Fi with a charger, prepaid envelope (to return) and bunch of instructions on how to use it and return it. You just put the travel Wi-Fi and the charger in the prepaid envelope and just drop it off in a yellow mailbox which is easy to find in Charles de Gaulle airport or throughout Paris. Next time I go out to Europe I will definitely be traveling with travel Wi-Fi!!! Lifelong customer here read more

Got device at our first hotel, easy return via provided mailing package in Rome airport. Lots of dead spot ironically in France. Worked pretty well in Barcelona and Rome. Customer service not responsive, called while in France and emailed but no reply. The device itself is small and light but I wished it had a small screen to indicate connectivity, battery life, etc. It had light indicators (red, orange, green) but hard to see in bright light. Download speeds are good. Battery life is maybe 5 hours with 2-3 devices connected, no external battery is provided so plan accordingly or shut down the device when not using. Would try a different service next time. read more

My wife and I just finished a three week trip to France. We started out spending the night at a hotel near the Charles de Gaulle airport, and then leaving for the South of France / Loire Valley the following day. Our vacation included eight days of cycling from one small town to another, taking in the majority of the Loire Valley, after that portion of the trip was complete we returned to Paris, with daytrips to Champagne, Giverny and Mont St. Michel. As we are in our early 50's, we are very much connected to our electronic devices. Having Travel Wifi was the best and smartest decision that we made for our entire vacation! It was a super simple process, I placed the order online, indicated the hotel where we were starting our vacation and the number of days we needed Travel WiFi.We arrived in Paris, upon check-in the front desk gave us the Travel Wifi package that had already been delivered. Pressed the power button and logged right in. Two smart phones and a tablet is what we had connected for just over 21 days. From all over the country we had Wireless Internet Service at a FRACTION of what we would have paid through our US provider, even after purchasing an international data plan. Having wifi capabilities throughout our vacation was critical to much of our enjoyment, we were able to run one of many "train" applications to navigate between towns and check schedules for transportation, as well as in Paris we used it to power the Visit Paris By Metro App, throughout the city, with Travel Wifi, it made us look like Paris Pros! Posting photos on Facebook, checking on emails, keeping up not only on world news, but our local news, as well, were all possible through Travel Wifi. At the conclusion of our trip, we put the Travel Wifi receiver and charger back in the box, put the box in the pre-paid envelop and left it with the front desk to post. It was amazingly simple to use. I highly recommend this service if you are travelling in France for a day or for months, it was indispensible! Thank you for providing OUTSTANDING service! read more

We spent a long week in France, for the first time ever last September. Our first thought was to get some type of data plan to use our USA phones with local providers, but reading/searching a little more....we found Travel Wifi. Best experience ever. Love the easy, clear website to rent it from. We choose the unlimited data plan for five days, the HotSpot device was already waiting for us, ready to use, when we arrived at our hotel. Easy simple instructions, good speed connection, small and easy to carry, great apps suggestions to use (we found RAFT really useful to travel within in Paris using the subway and trains), great battery performance. But we experienced the max potential while driving from Paris to the French Alps and from there to Marseille. We were able to use the Maps Directions from our phones with no problem all the time, so no need of GPS from car rental company was necessary, a risk we took not being sure if we we were loose connection after leaving Paris. Never happened. Travel Wifi was our best friend while driving through France and we were able to meet our schedule and all cities we want it as planned. We decided to stay an extra night in Marseille, so we contacted Travel Wifi to ask for the possibility to extend the time for the HotSpot to,stay activated. Their respond was almost immediate and tjey gave us an extra day for free. Great, great costumer service. I will like to share also, that thanks to the charger they sent, we were able to charge our own phones, since we didn't have a AC converter, during the first couple of days in Paris. I would advise to turn off the hotspot if at a location where internet wont be needed, to save battery. By doing that we were able to have almost 10 to 12 hours of daily connection. Absolutely will recommend this product to our family and friends traveling to France. Wish they have and extended option to other countries in Europe like Spain, Italy, Germany.... Thanks so much again Travel Wifi team! read more

I've traveled a lot for business over the decades, but never realized how devastating it can be if you lose your Wi-Fi connection during your business trip, especially in a country where you don't speak the language. Recently, the portable Wi-Fi that had I rented for traveling suddenly died - the device was unable to be recharged. I took most of two days trying to diagnose the problem, until it finally died. After wasting precious time in Paris, my husband, who was trying to solve the problem for me from home, found Travel Wifi and what a savior it was! The office was closed, as it was a national holiday. But one of the founders, Jonathan Justman, kindly opened the office for me, and when I arrived everything that I needed was there! I have to say that no coffee in Paris was ever as good as the cup he made, which tasted like huge relief from the anxiety that I suffered due to the lack of help provided by the previous Wi-Fi rental service. Travel Wifi really knows what having or losing a connection in today's world could mean, and they certainly know how to serve people. Souvenirs like a cute postcard and tiny cookie are a nice touch, and from my perspective as a writer on design I can say that they are adept at using smart and appealing graphic design to make their service, and your life, better. I'm originally from Japan, where good service is ubiquitous, but the way Travel Wifi does business totally impressed me in every way. On this trip to Paris I experienced a great discovery! read more

I was very skeptical of this. I work for a very small company and am the only one capable of recoverying any of a few dozen servers should things go wrong. I've had sat phones in Peru, Costa Rica and Northern Canada to cover me. This time I researched the heck out of sim cards with data, but it was tough to find something. I decided to give this a shot when I got to France, with no backup except the possibility of buying an expensive sim card. Let me just say this was Fantastic! It worked everywhere - all of Paris, almost all trains (Some underground ones not so much), DLP, and the entire drive to Normandy through backcountry and the highway back. The speed was fantastic, the data was never throttled (All app updates, etc. performed as usual) and the battery life was pretty good (6-8 hours with heavy, heavy use). Just bring an external battery pack. Comes with electrical adapter, a cord and a pretty good cookie. Picked up at tourist info booth (I was told visa/mc fraud will sometimes decline the trx, so make sure you are ready for that. I used amex, no issues), dropped off at the la poste at the airport right after I got there. Be sure to drop it off before security, cause mailboxes are hard to find after security. Definitely getting this when I come back. Wish there was something like it in the states. read more

Everything about Travel Wifi is superb! From the customer service ( I requested the package be sent to the rental agency a few days before arriving but not turned on until later),to the actual device operation (open the box it comes in, set your password on your phone for Wifi and you're good to go)! The package comes with everything you need- charger, device and bag to send back the device. The device is very small, able to fit in a pocket or small purse. The service/speed was always good from the device to our phones with no interruptions. We got 6-7 hours out of the charge while we were out and about. You are able to turn the Travel Wifi off, so if you know you may be out longer than 7 hours, simply turn off the device until you need to use it. I was skeptical about using this, worried that I would get some sort of secret charges from my United States phone carrier (Verizon). I got the bill and nothing out of the ordinary is on it! I would absolutely recommend this to anyone with no hesitation! I just made sure to turn off the data before I got on the plane to Paris and didn't turn it back on until I was stateside again! read more

The unit's battery drains relatively quickly (just turn it off when you're not actively using it, and carry a backup battery pack, which is a wise idea anyway), but the service was reliable and indeed saved us quite a bit of money (data roaming adds up BIG TIME). I opted to go to the business and pick up the unit. The business entrance was blocked by a construction scoffolding and didn't look like any business would be inside, but was in fact (I had to call), behind the sketchy-looking scaffolding, up a set of dark stairs --also under construction-- and in a corner of a community working center). I am glad we went in person and met one of the co-founders, whose English is flawless, by the way! With my travel wifi, which is just a touch bigger than my iphone and very thin and light, I was able to conduct business just like at home; the speed was pretty good; the rental process was extremely efficient and easy (pick up or delivery; pre-paid return envelope to drop in any mailbox, which I did at the airport right next to the airline's check-in counter), I will definitely use this again and again! And again! read more

Bonjour, we have had Travel Wifi for over 4 weeks now and have found it very useful. We are travelling in a motorhome with three kids and wife all happily browsing while driving around. With the device plugged into the cigarette lighter outlet with a converter during the driving time and then we plug it into the mains electricity when stopped at camping parks. We have been able to avoid having SIM cards for three phones while overseas which has saved us lots of $'s. The coverage is great. While there are some spots with no coverage it was only while driving in remote areas. Every camp stop always had coverage. We also travelled in and out of countries next to France and noticed coverage was not available in these countries. Over all this technology is the way to go and works really well and is cost effective. A few suggestions would be to provide an additional battery booster to carry around when not near power. While 5 hrs is great, this hardly covers a day walking around Paris or Mont Saint Michel... Could you also provide coverage for 100km or so into adjacent countries of France? read more

What it says on the tin. Arrived to hotel in Paris and reception handed the device to me the next morning (Travel Wifi had delivered well in advance but Hotel Staff went a bit Fawlty Towers on it; none of which was Travel Wifi's fault). Device was a doddle to set-up and during our 2 days in Paris and subsequent 10 days meandering around the Vendee/Loire region our family enjoyed excellent connectivity. Hung a max of 5 devices off the box at any one time; 3 phones, tablet & laptop. We tended to use it from a 'fixed' base where there was always a convenient power socket for charging - often we left it plugged into mains. It does work its way through the battery fairly quickly; within a few hours certainly. Device worked. Customer service - by phone and SMS - to help us resolve the initial "No Sir, nothing here for you" from hotel staff, was prompt, friendly and effective. My usual question after using a service is to ask myself whether I'd use it again? Absolutely. No hesitation. read more

I have just returned from 10 days in Paris where we used a Travel Wifi mobile internet device. What a great service!! It was waiting for us at our hotel. Even in my jet-lagged state, I was able to turn it on and hook up our devices without even referring to the instructions, although I have used mobile wifi before. It served all of our needs throughout our trip and then we simply put it into the supplied envelope and handed it to the front desk at our hotel. Nothing could have been easier. Great, easy wifi everywhere we went in Paris. I can't comment on the battery life since we tended not to have it on all the time. We would simply turn it on when we wanted to know the hours of a museum or business, the nearest Metro stop or to find a good restaurant near where we were. We also used it all evening in the hotel. It's much more reliable and faster than hotel wifi tends to be. As far as I am concerned, this was a perfect service. Merci, mes amis de Travel Wifi! read more

Awesome ! I strongly recommend http://travel-wifi.com/ I am used to Wi-Fi hotspot providers from different countries including Asia (where it is very common), and frankly travel-wifi is top-notch : - Their device provides a good wifi even in very remote places. - Pick-up (or delivery to your local address ) and return procedure (prepaid envelope) ae super simple. - And even more important, they go out of their way to satisfy their clients : I recently had to stay only one night in Paris, had ordered pick-up at Charles de Gaulle Airport but due to my late plane arrival, the Airport pick-up desk was closed. After only 3 mins on their chat, they offered to deliver me the device where I was staying downtown Paris -at 23:00 on a Friday night- so that I would not miss a day of connection. Awesome customer service, and super friendly ! I believe they now are all over Europe and in many other countries... I will used them everywhere I can from now on !! read more

Vincent from Travel WiFi made this transaction just perfect! My two weeks in Paris revolved around family business, not a vacation trip. It was essential to have a flawless WiFi connection. I found out about Travel WiFi from this site. Every review was stellar, so I am joining the ranks of highly satisfied customers. The device is small and lightweight, the speed amazing and the kit contained everything that I needed....including a piece of delicious chocolate (that I did not need). Very few of my colleagues in the US knew that I was in Paris. It was easy to submit my column, review a scientific paper, send a contract and book a speaking engagement......and keep up with the endless avalanche of email that shows up every day. I am known for my fast business responses, which keeps me at the top in my little niche. Business people like me need peace of mind and Travel WiFi gave me outstanding support for the entire period of time. Merci! read more

First: the hot spot worked perfectly and had better speed and connectivity than any of the local free hotspots that were available to us. All 5 of us used it in Paris, Saint-Malo, and Dinan. Next: picking up at the airport was a good experience. I was given a fully charged hotspot and instructions on how to use, charge and contact the company. Next: the agent at the airport took a copy of my passport and left it in the copier. I failed to ask for it back and left the terminal without realizing it was even missing! Last: The next day, Vincent and Johnathan at Travel Wifi contacted me to let me know they had my passport! They bent over backward to help me make arrangements to get it back!!! It was safely delivered to me and I did not have to miss a moment of time on my family vacation. Finally: from making arrangements online, to picking up at the airport, to amazing customer service, I recommend--without hesitation--travel Wifi! read more

I had a great experience with Travel Wifi. I booked it online from the US a day before I got on a plane to Paris. Everything on their site is straightforward. You know what you're getting and there were no hidden costs. When I showed up to my hotel early in the morning a package was there waiting for me. I used the device all over Paris and Nice for navigation, looking up reviews, and translation. There were no issues using this with out two phones and iPad to get unlimited LTE data. This was much easier than getting two prepaid SIM cards for our phones. I was nervous about doing that as my French is very elementary. The day we left, we just put the device in a prepaid envelope and dropped it in the mailbox. It couldn't have been easier. If you plan on using this a lot, either rent the extra battery or bring a USB battery pack. The device lasted the majority of the day, but we had some really long days in Paris. read more

We picked up our Wi-Fi hotspot at the Tourist Information counter at Charles De Gaulle airport as we were arriving into Paris. Just happened to see the brochure and decided to try it. We had 3 iPhones and 2 iPads and this was the perfect solution for us. We were able to stay connected wirelessly our entire stay in Paris for all our devices. As others mentioned the battery life is only about 6-8 hours, so we either turned it off when we were doing other things or we brought a portable battery to keep it charged. It came with a charging cords, simple to follow instructions and was perfect for our needs. Returning it was no problem. It came with a postage page addressed envelope. We just put it in the envelope and back it went. We thought it was such a great service that we tried to find the same thing in London and Rome and couldn't. Please expand your service area. We loved it! read more

Excellent service, excellent product straight forward to set up.Jonathans service is second to none!! Communication with our very limited French is no problem due to Jonathans excellent English. We require a travel dongle about every 6 weeks and it has to be sent to Brittany to our holiday home and we always use Travel Wi-Fi,the price is very competitive and the delivery is efficient,4G fast connection and invaluable when we are out and about .The dongle is small and lightweight pocket size.Return is easy just put it in the envelope provided and put in the nearest postbox when you have finished with it! .We needed it for longer on one occasion and a quick call( even out of normal business hours!!) and hey presto sorted!! There are 3 methods of contact,a phone call, live chat on the Internet ,or via email with a rapid response to all.Thank you to all at Travel Wi-Fi Carol Brown read more

I rented one of these devices in France for nearly two weeks this summer on my parent's behalf. They were staying in a very very old hotel which had extremely poor wifi, and also travelled a lot while there, requiring a mobile data solution while moving from place to place during their break. Rental of the device could not have been easier, or more hassle-free. Travel WiFi's staff were very friendly, and extremely helpful. The device was delivered to my parent's hotel the day after I placed my order online, and they were able to use it immediately, without any issue. Returning the device was also pleasantly easy - Travel WiFi include a pre-paid returns parcel with the device, which you can return in any National post box in France. I could not recommend this product or Travel WiFi more highly, and have already recommended it to everybody that I know. read more

We first used Travel-Wifi last summer. The customer service AND the device itself were amazing, allowing our family of four to connect all of our phones to the Internet seamlessly as we went sightseeing around Paris and France. We had spent too many days trying unsuccessfully to find WiFi at cafes and shops. Travel Wifi saved us! This summer, my 15 year old daughter returned to France for a study abroad program in Brittany. I wanted her to have the device upon landing so she could reach out to me in case of need. I asked Jonathan to ship it to me in the States and he did! Of course I paid the postage, but it was well worth it to receive a text from my daughter upon her arrival at Charles de Gaulle. Four weeks in and she has found the device to be easy to charge and use, enabling us to stay in contact the entire time! Very happy! read more

The wifi solution was quick, flawless and also most importantly unrestricted! We utilized everything day, every day. I was informed the unit holds a fee for 5 or 6 hours, however we never ran out. If we intended to be out alI day I simply transformed the tool off in between uses. We took outing to Normandy and also Reims where the wifi remained to be rapid as well as we never ever shed a signal, even on the train. It was wonderful to be able to navigate by means of Google Maps without anxiety of reviewing data limits. The device charged rapidly with the consisted of cord. We even opted to choose it instead of the wifi in our home due to the fact that Travel Wifi was quicker and less glitchy! These people are doing it right. Traveling Wifi is a great company as well as I advise them heartily. read more

As others have said, this is a wonderful service. We arrived at CDG on the afternoon of Saturday, 11/4/2015, right after the terrorist attacks. We picked this up at the airport and it was a LIFESAVER! I had pre-arranged our transportation to our AirBnB apartment, no problem there, but it could have been because all the trains, metro and buses were not running. When we got to the apartment, we couldn't get in. We emailed our contact and she replied with the instructions. Without our email, we would have never been able to get into our place. We looked later for a pay phone and could not find one at all. We used it for the GPS on our phones and to keep our families updated on our safety. Really a GREAT deal. I highly recommend to all my friends to do this. Well worth the money. read more
