I was surprised how many unethical Uber drivers there were in Louisville. Color me naive. Several times I nearly entered the wrong vehicle. I was grateful there were three of us to help keep it all on the up and up. My Uber in the Atlanta area was much appreciated! Anytime I have the opportunity to not drive in the Atlanta area is a blessing! This was a one-way trip, the driver arrived on time as promised, and charged the promised fee. It was an Uber win! The app is useful, easy to navigate, and Uber offers Uber Eats where they deliver restaurant meals (and I believe groceries) to your home/business. The day was amazing and everything went to plan, until the journey back to the airport. There were no trains from Paris to CDG airport so we were stuck at Gare Du Nord station trying to find a bus. After several failed attempts we decided to get a taxi so as not to miss our flight. Google Maps suggested Chauffeur Privé and said it would cost around 45 euros. So I downloaded the app and managed to find a taxi driver nearby. After we booked, he called to say he was nearby. He came in good time, despite some traffic and confirmed that we would get to the airport in time. I was happy with this, but I was soon very alarmed by his driving. I know that Paris has a reputation for erratic drivers, but he was beyond that. On 4 different occasions throughout the journey he nearly crashed into other cars. On two of those occasions he raced after the cars and wound his window down to hurl abuse at the drivers, gesturing and swearing. While doing this he did not have his eyes on the road. We felt very unsafe. He did get us to the airport on time, but we were a bit shaken up and it was not a nice end to what had been a lovely day for us. I then learned that I was being charged 75 euros for the journey which I find appalling as I was quoted a cheaper price. I complained via the app and was at first offered an email apology. Then after expressing my dissatisfaction again, I was offered 5 euros of credit to my account on the app and 200 loyalty points. I explained that I have no use for this as I was only visiting for a day and will not use the app again, but they didn't seem to care and said they could do nothing else. I also think 5 euros is a disgusting offer as they had hiked up the price so much in the first place and also showed how little they care about the safety of their passengers. If you value your life and your money, use another company such as Uber or a local taxi driver. If you use this company, you'll probably live to regret it, if you live at all! André

The shuttle was parked very close to arrival exit so we did not need to walk much. Good part ends here! We left to our AirBnB destination which was very close to Eiffel Tower. As there was EuroCup going on, some roads were blocked around Eiffel Tower. Taxi driver wanted to drop us 300m away from place. Just imagine walking on wet roads with luggage and kids after a long flight! I called my AirBnB host Romain who tried to explain alternative roads to driver. But the driver refused to talk to him. So our host decided to come to pick us at main road. As we were waiting for our host, I saw a lady police officer allowing a vehicle to enter blocked road. I requested driver to talk to the lady police officer. The officer immediately removed barricades and allowed us to enter that road. The roads were only blocked for pass-through traffic, not for vehicles whose destination was on the road! I was surprised a local taxi driver did not know this. What was worse that he did not made any attempt to solve the problem and just wanted to dump us on the road. As we entered the road, I saw Romain, our AirBnB host, coming from opposite side. So I asked driver to stop the car and take him inside car. Romain walked 300 meters just out of humanity. I felt bad as driver did not stop the car saying we paid only for 3 passengers. Well we paid for entire taxi. It wasn't a shared cab so I am not sure what was his problem. In any case, driver should not have been considerate of Romain came walking because of his refusal to cooperate. Also, as Romain had to walk back again, going ahead did not help much as we need to wait 1-2 minutes for Romain to reach back apartment. We cannot blame this on language barrier because our host was talking with driver in French only. The 2-star I gave was only for smooth airport arrival experience as I did not want to discredit the good part. But there is no question of using this service again.
